Do not blame Mercy here, Ike has the blame, he's been a fool for a while and he can't just pull out like that, it will take some time.
Mercy is being mercy, acts tough but lily-livered.
Ike's best bet is to return the coins in peace and apologise to Mercy, keep his distance and play his game as Ike.
If he wants to run any other street, he should do it on his own without any accomplice.

It will be better if Ike returned Esther's coins.
He should be smart enough to know Mercy will spill the beans and that won't be good for him in the house. There is no way he can manoeuvre around the issue, he just have to return it.
He should give them to Mercy so she can drop it by herself and let everything go back to normal. He may then give her some space so they can play their games individually afterall, he's yet to have anything intimate with her so she won't feel heartbroken as such.

Tacha would have been his best bet as an accomplice, he overrated Mercy.
