With only a few days to the end of 2016, music star, 2Baba is set to kick off a new project which will support Internally displaced persons in Nigeria.
The Project 14/14 as it has been tagged will see the iconic singer perform at several events between the 17th and 31st of December 2016 in a bid to raise 14 million Naira which will go into supporting six outstanding non-governmental organizations who work tirelessly to support people living in Internally Displaced Persons Camps.
Project 14/14 is an initiative of the 2Face foundation in partnership with the Kudirat Initiative for Democracy KIND.

It’s no longer a surprise in the Nigeria music scene when a music act rebels against his own record label, like Runtown and Skales clash Eric Manny and Baseline Records this year. Tho the disputes were resolved it showed flaws in the many policies that Nigerian labels place on their artistes. One of such policies does not allow fast rising music act Kiss Daniel feature on songs from any other person outside his label.
The 2015 Headies Next Rated award nominee made his breakthrough in Nigerian music industry with ‘Woju’ in 2014 under G-Worldwide Entertainment, owned by Emperor Geezy.
‘Woju’ was later remixed with Tiwa Savage and Davido featuring on it
Ever since then however, Kiss Daniel has only featured his label mates, DJ Shabsy and Sugarboy – who’s also the ONLY featured artiste on his debut studio album, New Era, released in May 2016.
At the moment, Kiss Daniel is one of the most talented young artistes in Nigeria and consequently, demands for collaborations with him are high.

His record label contract however still prohibits music collaborations with artistes that aren’t under their label, a very big problem for the ‘Good Time’ singer.
For example, two of Nigeria’s biggest pop stars; Davido and Wizkid survived 2016 with music collaborations.
Davido recorded about 30 collaborations with numerous artistes, while Wizkid had prominent features with global musicians such as Drake, Chris Brown, Tinnie Tempah, Trey Songz, French Montana, DJ Maphorisa, Emtee and Justine Skye.
The budding chap has a bright future ahead of him but the lack of external experience with top music act might see his career trailing. Such thoughts and little whispers from close acquaintances might bring the rebel out of the ‘Alone’ singer.

Mother of Amina Ali, one of the Chibok school girls who was rescued in May this year after being in Boko Haram captivity for over two years, spoke to BBC about her daughter Amina. According to her, Amina told her that some of the girls she was kidnapped alongside with died during childbirth while others were killed during bomb attacks.

“She said some of the girls died in childbirth. Others were killed by bombs. Some girls were deafened by the explosions. Some of the girls were wounded and their legs were broken”.

According to Amina’s mother, some of the girls were given out as wives to Boko Haram fighters
“The man my daughter was given to was from Mubi. He was a mechanic when Boko Haram came. Everyone one ran away but he was under a car didn’t see them coming. They captured him and Amina was given to him as wife. He told her that they should run away that night. He promised to reunite Amina and her family even if it will cost him his life. My mind is at rest. Right now, we are not together but we do talk on the phone. At the moment, I don’t know if she is back in school or not. Before I left her she wasn’t in school. Amina said she doesn’t want to go to school again. She told the president that she wants the government to buy her sewing machines. She wants to learn tailoring and to own a shop”

She said she wept when she met her daughter after she was rescued
“When I saw her, I hugged her and started to cry. Amina said “Mama you should be happy I came out alive. Two years and three months and now you see me, lets be thankful. Then I held her in my arms. I was crying tears of joy.”

Some alleged bodyguards of President Buhari who served him during the buildup to the 2015 general election, have accused him of abandoning them immediately after he entered office on May 29th 2015. According to the former bodyguards, they put their lives on the line for him when he was not yet in office and so deserve to be treated better, and not discarded the way they were.
