Wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi Bagudu yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of former Minister of Communication Maj. Gen. Tanko Ayuba, who passed away 2 days ago.

"Today I went to Diri to be with my sister Barrister Rakiya and the rest of the Ayuba family after the loss of our father and pillar of support, Gen Tanko Ayuba. I will hold fond memories of our times in your home forever. May Allah forgive your sins and grant you Aljanat Firdausi." She wrote on her Facebook page.

Michael Ndirika, a student of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, formerly known as Anambra state University (ANSU) Uli campus, was allegedly beaten to death by an anti-cult group in the university this week. His friends told Timenaija they don't know why he picked up by the group and brutalized until he died. There was a small riot at Uli campus yesterday following his death.

Members of Okposi community of Ebonyi state gathered this morning to place curses on those connected with the death of two Federal Government College students whose bodies were found on Sunday May 22nd after they were kidnapped on May 12th. The community leaders say no student of the school since its inception in1965 had died in mysterious circumstances.

30 year old, Joy Ogundare, pictured above, who was allegedly caught red-handed planting 2.2gram of cocaine in a pastor, Richard Ekenne's home in Kano, will be arraigned before Justice Zainab Abubakar of the Federal High Court Kano today May 25th by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
According to the NDLEA Kano State Commander, Hamza Umar, the accused in her statement confessed to the crime and also gave reason while she carried out the act.
“I am not in good terms with Pastor Richard. We even have a pending case at the Magistrate Court here in Kano. That was why I wanted to plant cocaine in his apartment to implicate him but I was caught in the process by NDLEA Officers” she said

Yewande Oyediran, the woman who stabbed her husband, 38 year old Oyediran Ajanaku to death at their Akobo estate home in Ibadan, Oyo state on February 2nd after a domestic dispute, will appear in court today May 24th. Yewande who is a lawyer and a Staff of the Directorate of public prosecution at the Ministry of Justice, Ibadan, Oyo state, is being tried for the murder of her late husband.

Danish Aid worker, Anja Ringgren Loven rescued the little boy, Hope, who was left for dead after being branded a witch in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Today, she was presented with the Danish Medal of Honour in Denmark for her "brave, selfless and extraordinary effort to save the vulnerable children in Nigeria.

President Buhari has appointed Muhammed Babandede as the interim Comptroller-General of Nigeria Immigration Service, (NIS). The former Immigration boss Martin Abeshi who was appointed by the President on August 27, 2015, was reportedly fired after holding the position in an acting capacity for six days. At the time of his appointment, he had already been slated to proceed on a three-month terminal leave beging from October 2015.
The removal of Abeshi was contained in a letter, (pictured)which was signed by Lt-Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau(rtd) the Minister of Interior on Tuesday, May 17, entitled: 'notification of retirement'. The letter directed Abechi to hand over to Babandede(pictured) with immediate effect.
Vanguard reports that the reason for his sack may be connected with his handling of the recent replacement in the service. The CG allegedly employed his third wife and his eldest son into the service. Both recruits were said to be under-going training in Kano.
Until his appointment, Mr. Babandede was in charge of the Operations and Passport Directorate of the service.
