Family / Re: 5 Disadvantages Of Marrying A Man Who Can Cook by WafiJoe(m): 2:06am On Dec 11, 2015
hayzed1090:
The Op is very correct. Only dose ladies married to a perfect cook will understand. Don't forget that knowing how to cook is an added advantage for lady, but u lost that advantage if ur hubby is equally a good cook.

Try new recipe. Think outside the box. Unlike what the op said, there's something new under the sun when it comes to recipe, even professional chefs haven't tasted it all. I'm a very good cook but trust me, I can't cook all food.

[12/10, 8:50 AM] ‪A: I tried using pc, buh its not showing me my curriculum page, but when i do with my phone, it wont submit, after finish coding and i clicked submit, the page will just refresh

yes, i have tried to even log in with my pc, but i wasn't able to do anything (pops up restriction message) . So i have to go back to my phone. By the way, i'm talking about quiz 3 OOP lab... I don't want to log out or login anyhow because i think its sessioned.

Alright I've not gotten to that stage. I had migraine 3 days ago, yesterday wasn't better and today I'm down on my bed feeling really sick. I can't even go to work. So I don't think I'll be coding this week.

Easyjay:

How did you go about the real time solutions on code academy or can you help me with this problem?

I have written my python code like three different
times now and everytime i click submit, it kind of
refreshes the page so i have to start typing all over
again and i can' t c even copy and paste my code. It
happens same with the objective part but i didn't
feel it much because i just pick options and submit
but with the python, i have to write and rewrite

I'm still on codecademy. Have you tried restarting your browser? Relogged in? Or try another browser?
Music/Radio / Re: Advice Needed On The Right Type Of Guitar To Buy. by WafiJoe(m): 11:11pm On Dec 09, 2015
Like the other guy replied, you have to be specific. Your post is vague. It's like saying you want to rent an apartment, without stating the location you're hoping to rent the house. That been said, here's my advice; meet anyone in your neighborhood that plays guitar, tell him you're interested in learning, and he'll take you from there. Or ask the guitarist in your church to guide you. A third option is that you join a Facebook group for instrumentalists, you'll get faster response or even real time chats. A fourth option is search for a guitarist forum.

A base guitarist is totally different from a lead guitarist.

Hope this helps.

Programming / Why Study Algorithms? by WafiJoe(m): 4:13pm On Dec 07, 2015
Computer scientists learn by experience. We learn by seeing others solve problems and by solving problems by ourselves. Being exposed to different problem-solving techniques and seeing how different algorithms are designed helps us to take on the next challenging problem that we are given. By considering a number of different algorithms, we can begin to develop pattern recognition so that the next time a similar problem arises, we are better able to solve it.

Algorithms are often quite different from one another. Consider the example of sqrt seen earlier. It is entirely possible that there are many different ways to implement the details to compute the square root function. One algorithm may use many fewer resources than another. One algorithm might take 10 times as long to return the result as the other. We would like to have some way to compare these two solutions. Even though they both work, one is perhaps “better” than the other. We might suggest that one is more efficient or that one simply works faster or uses less memory. As we study algorithms, we can learn analysis techniques that allow us to compare and contrast solutions based solely on their own characteristics, not the characteristics of the program or computer used to implement them.

In the worst case scenario, we may have a problem that is intractable, meaning that there is no algorithm that can solve the problem in a realistic amount of time. It is important to be able to distinguish between those problems that have solutions, those that do not, and those where solutions exist but require too much time or other resources to work reasonably.

There will often be trade-offs that we will need to identify and decide upon. As computer scientists, in addition to our ability to solve problems, we will also need to know and understand solution evaluation techniques. In the end, there are often many ways to solve a problem. Finding a solution and then deciding whether it is a good one are tasks that we will do over and over again
Religion / Who Is The Holy Spirit? by WafiJoe(m): 4:07pm On Dec 07, 2015
Q: "Who or what is the Holy Spirit? I've seen this name/phrase on your site in a few places."

our A: The Holy Spirit is a real person who came to reside within Jesus Christ's true followers after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended to heaven (Acts 2). Jesus told His apostles...

"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." (John 14:16-18)

The Holy Spirit is not a vague, ethereal shadow, nor an impersonal force. He is a person equal in every way with God the Father and God the Son. He is considered to be the third member of the Godhead. Jesus said to His apostles...

"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matt. 28:18-20)

God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. And all the divine attributes ascribed to the Father and the Son are equally ascribed to the Holy Spirit. When a person becomes born again by believing and receiving Jesus Christ (John 1:12-13; John 3:3-21), God resides in that person through the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 3:16). The Holy Spirit has intellect (1Cor. 2:11), emotion (Rom. 15:30), and will (1Cor. 12:11).

A primary role of the Holy Spirit is that He bears "witness" of Jesus Christ (John 15:26, 16:14). He tells people's hearts about the truth of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit also acts as a Christian's teacher (1Cor. 2:9-14). He reveals God's will and God's truth to a Christian. Jesus told His disciples...

"The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." (John 14:26)

"When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." (John 16:13)

The Holy Spirit was given to live inside those who believe in Jesus, in order to produce God's character in the life of a believer. In a way that we cannot do on our own, the Holy Spirit will build into our lives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal. 5:22-23). Rather than trying to be loving, patient, kind, God asks us to rely on Him to produce these qualities in our lives. Thus Christians are told to walk in the Spirit (Gal. 5:25) and be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18). And the Holy Spirit empowers Christians to perform ministerial duties that promote spiritual growth among Christians (Rom. 12; 1Cor. 12; Eph. 4).

The Holy Spirit also performs a function for non-Christians as well. He convicts people's hearts of God's truth concerning how sinful we are -- needing God's forgiveness; how righteous Jesus is -- He died in our place, for our sins; and God's eventual judgment of the world and those who do not know Him (John 16:8-11). The Holy Spirit tugs on our hearts and minds, asking us to repent and turn to God for forgiveness and a new life.
