I work as a security officer in a community, I usually work from 7:00am - 3pm in a secondary school, and also resume night duty by 7pm in a community close to my house
The landlord association gave us a warning that we must check all cars coming in and going out of the estate and we have been performing our duties in a polite way..
About 11:35pm last night, we heard the horn of a strange car requesting that we should open the gate, I switch on my touch to check those inside the car, it was three abled young men and lady inside the car, in a polite way I ask them where they are heading to and they mentioned a popular rich man in the community, as usual, I told them to open the booth of there car which they refused to open, I told them to drive back to where they are coming from but before I could know what's happening,. They got down from the car and threathing to deal with us if the gate is not opened...they forced the gate open and drove inside the community,my colleague we're just watching the whole scenario as I drag issues with them...
I don't know the report they gave the chairman of the landlords association, they just got to our checkpoint this morning and told me I have been fired without paying me off, I told them I haven't done anything wrong and was just carrying out my duties,I was told never to come close to the area again or else I will be arrested.
I left there in annoyance, I was only carrying out my duties but now I have been Sacked for carrying out order...

it is a terrible blueprint. By the time the road is completed, traffic would have grown to nullify the expected gain. Same thing happened when they expanded the road to 3 lanes. Inconvenienced everybody only for the traffic on the road to have increased beyond the capacity by the time the expansion was completed.

A proper blueprint would have created these roads and the coastal road in anticipation of the explosion on that axis.

Let me ask you a question how does this affect the traffic for those commuting beyond Ajah which is where the real population explosion, free trade area, Dangote refinery etc are located?

They are jusT creating undue hardship for 2 years to solve a problem for a maximum of 1 year, When in fact what they should be doing is developing local (side) roads by compulsory acquisition and demolition of existing homes if need be such that you can go from 1 point to another on that axis without a need to enter the express way. Lekki is the only area in the whole of lagos where you cannot go from one point to another without entering the express way. imagine if in areas like Surulere, ilupeju Anthony, you had to go through Ikorodu road just because you wanted to visit your friend in the same area? 60% of the traffic on that road is local traffic because there is no other route. Why should someone who lives in Nicon town have to go on the express way just to Chevron, that is next door to him?

Any club that fails to release a player for international engagement would be severely sanctioned.

It's important to note, that international engagements are well scheduled and published well in advance.

The EPL continues to play during the winter period and in fact, creates a congestion of games over the period and does so unashamedly whilst many European leagues go on a winter break.

They claim it is their tradition but you here, think a tournament that is the pride of Africa, that is held every two years should be shifted to appease some European masters.

When is the World Cup played? When is Europa played? Copa America? Etc. My point is the calendar suits all stakeholders better (even the players) if played after the season. We won't have clubs boycotting African players because they are bound to loose them every two years for a month. Ferguson is a prime example.

I dont think the Afcon is getting as much flak is it is potrayed to have. In my opinion, i think its just hard to sell the Afcon to the rest of the world because of the timing. The organizers ought to understand that even the World Cup is played in the summer when all other major leagues are on break.
If Afcon were to be played in the summer, it would get as much coverage as possible. Lets not get ahead of ourselves, even the European Championship cannot compete with the Leagues in terms of coverage. The Qatar world cup is getting as much flak due to its timing as well.
With this outburst, clubs will start to boycot African players. CAF should move the competition to the summer.

You must be paid by Sanwolu and hence cannot see constructive criticism. Planning is the keyword here. We have not said what Lagos state is doing is not good (i dont know why you had to bring that up, lol), we have only said the execution is not well planned. In a state that relies heavily on road transport, you cannot bloack so many roads at the same time. The alternatives are usually never even prepared well enough before traffic is diverted there.
