DeepSight:The functions of the EFCC include: The investigation of all financial crimes including advance fee fraud, money laundering, counterfeiting, illegal fund transfers, futures market fraud, contract scam etc.; The coordination and enforcement of all economic and financial crimes laws. Stop thinking going after Yahoo boys is not part of their job |
immortalcrown:APC can't bring the naira to where u want it to be, the country is floating the naira now so market forces will determine how the naira should be. Infact, it doesn't make sense to look at exchange rate anymore cos we now float the naira |
JASONjnr:So you were not informed when people we're criticizing EFCC when they sent Bobrisky to jail? others are saying they are trying to nail him ever since and used naira mutilation as excuse. E be like say u just enter the country from Yankee, afa where the bread weh u come with, e don finish? ![]() |
If EFCC come for this one na, u go deh hear yeye comment like "are they the only ones doing it?, "EFCC should face their work" bla bla |
Wow, that baby is so beautiful. I was born in a generation where if u put on short skirt u are a prostitute, women dont wear trousers and bumshot is not even something to wear, today people don't even wear bumshot again, they wear semi pant and cover it with cloth and walk around street. So those of you insulting the mother, relax cos that nose ring will soon be a trend and ur wife may probably wear it. Few years ago, only ashawo put on nose rings, ankle chains and a dress that shows nipple, but now almost everyone going braless, people even enter churches with bumshot. Now even guys are putting on earrings, fashion is dynamic. Btw, the money has no right to Pierce the baby's nose |
Godfullsam:I am from the south south region, oil theft is very difficult to stop, even army and Navy are involved in it, so who wants to stop it. They should just bring helicopter and move around creeks while bombing these illegal refineries. |
So in a nutshell, if we don't boost oil production, the naira will go back to 1800 per dollar by next year? |
Obainoman6:kill and dry is painful, he may not be able to sleep. OP, just meet one cultist, make him blow ur head with gun, instant death |
Life isn't fair to all, most of us seem lost and all we need is direction to a place we want. OP I think you should make a 10,20 or 30years plan, tell yourself what u wish to achieve at the end of the plan, analyze ur present condition and see where you are, divide ur big plan into small achievable goals Take a pen and write down what u can do right now that will get you at least an inch away from where u are and an inch closer to ur goal, achieve that one then move over to the next plan, do this till u achieve ur dream. If u do this, u will wake up everyday looking forward to a new day |
Beebah321: slimjohn2k5:most depressed people tries to fake a smile to hide their sadness, he may be serious and you should have encouraged him to not give up yet instead of this comment. Well OP, I heard generator fumes does the trick, if u on generator and face the fume to ur window, before day go break, u don die, it's painless |
alsudan:There is fuel and water Sha. E surplus for Nigeria, as for electricity. |
yinkabeauty:make I just avoid u, carry ur frustration deh Waka go. Every line in this ur very comment was carefully draft to trigger me, but alas since u didn't see it as insult, no need engaging you. Have a nice weekend. |
PointZerom:Is ur problem Tinubu or the policies he makes, if your problem is that u unconditionally hate Tinubu then no need explaining to you, but if it's about the policies, then people can explain |
yinkabeauty:so explaining something and saying we are unintelligent and asking us to query our sense of vision is not insulting enough abi? If that is how u normally discuss, then you better watch ur tongue, cos not everyone will accept that kind of discussion |
lomprico:The Chinese economy was not this strong, they were strong thanks to the market, that country has population the size of Africa. Nigeria is still strong thanks to it's market, if we divide, you will know that the country is not stronger than Ghana. With the level Nigeria is now, you can't put everything in place before you float the naira |
Whalis:well that is true, we can always maintain what they did but we will never grow to our potential, we will never be true Giants. The USA may be stable but China is coming and there are some likelyhood of wars in the future, if it affects the US economy, believe me you will wish we floated the naira |
lomprico:actually that is impossible if we pegged the naira. Before Mexico floated her currency in 1993, it foreign reserves got depleted, it doesn't have a stable economy. Who even knows China before now, it was around 2007 that they started producing their China phones |
There are few cons [1] free floating rates will make sense only if a nation has a sufficient internal mechanism to keep control over economic health and react accordingly. It will never work if central banks misuse their monetary policy. It usually happens in countries with soaring corruption, when a group of influential leaders misuses the monetary [policy in favor of their personal gains. This is when it is better to peg one nation’s currency to a stronger asset. [2] secondly With a pegged rate, you always know what to expect. Businesses can plan their import and export costs. A free floating exchange rate comes with increased volatility. Besides, the currency value can change every minute, it can go from 0 to 100 in a month, we saw that in the last two months when it went from 1800 to 980. |
Now that you have known some difference, let's see the pros and cons of this policy. The Pros 1One thing is that the economy can never receive shock again that it received in the past few years, the market will now determine the price of naira and not any country, we were operating a system called "USA sneeze, Nigeria catch cold" 2Secondly, the economy is about to be one of the world leading economies. 3Thirdly Nigeria has more room for growth than any other country I know of. No joke, nothing is working in this country, the only sectors that are working are monopolized, the oil, the cement, the automobiles etc and investors will seize the opportunity, in simple economics i'd rather invest in USA than Nigeria if the USD determine the value of Naira so I don't lose my investment if USA goes to war, but that is no more the case. Imagine someone that is investing in mining that is largely untapped or electricity that is untapped, Nigeria is the new goldmine in town 4 Lastly pressure on CBN is reduced as they don't have to keep the naira fixed, these pros are not limited but I am tired Now let's go to the cons. |
Though alot of people are angry with Tinubu policy while others are happy with it. But how many of us have an idea what pegging and floating of currency means. Before I start let us look at countries that pegged their currencies and those that have floating currency. Pegged currencies 1.Barhain 2. Cuba 3. Belize 4. UAE etc free floating currency USA China Australia Canada Etc. Looking at these, you will know that the free floating currencies are big economies while the others are third world countries. Now most people are not happy with the naira to dollar exchange rate and wants the naira to go back to how it was before Tinubu came, but that is impossible in a free floating economy, because the CBN cannot fix the price anymore, infact, it makes no sense to look at the #/$ exchange rate anymore because our currency is no more fixed to the dollar but the market, in such a case, if the US economy gets a shock, it won't affect Nigeria anymore. Recently the US economy got a shock and inflation came, economies like Nigeria and Argentina that pegged their Naira and pesos to the USD got into hyper inflation and went into recession while the Chinese Yuan was growing stronger, it was a global inflation but Sweden, Japan and Chinese didn't feel it. That means if USA by some chance goes to recession, then Nigeria is doomed. China as a country had a fixed currency until 2005 when they partially floated their currency, 5years later, the Chinese currency was a household name in every African country and today they are among strongest economies. |
yinkabeauty:All these yeye talk because I asked you to be mature? Abeg I am not the person that gave birth to u, stop pouring ur frustration on me |
Ok o. Subsidy or not, many Nigerians will still be poor |
Let's stop defending what is obvious abeg. Both himself and Tinubu used religion as a weapon in the past election. How many times did this guy attend mosque when he was a governor? The sudden love for Muslims is nothing but a mockery. someone that was even fighting another church |
yinkabeauty:If you use half the energy u use in attacking comments to work on ur attitude, probably u will not be a public nuisance. Learn how to argue in a matured way. |
yinkabeauty:Rihanna was chocolate, not white like this. |
Remembered the time of 2go, I created a female account and entered lesbians dating room to find babes. I didn't see a single lady, everyone of them were guys with with female account. Then I decided to use my main account and entered gay room if I'll find females there, I didn't see any female, I saw real gays in the room lolz. |
being:if you understand the economics with exchange rate, you will know that the govt has float the naira. If they are defending the naira, it would have been around 1$ to N300 and the dollar will be fixed just like it was during past administrations |
mrvitalis: first, I am not agbado people, I don't even come from the West.I would have schooled you again on my ethnicity? But I'll pass, I've schooled you enough, I don't want ur brain to be saturated with too much knowledge in a day |
Eiya, e get anyway weh person no go hear bad news? The dollar sef weh we deh use console ourselves no gree come down again |
mrvitalis:our reserve is not 99% dollars, u brought that statistics from nowhere, and I am not ready to school you on that. u should be grateful I have schooled you that our reserve is not in USD secondly govt spend dollar in times of crisis like when local currency is devalued and paying/servicing of debt. They don't change it to naira. Now I thought I have already explained to u that u can't understand who taught me economics? Stop asking |
successmatters:that's not true but I no wan argue |
labake1:I fit in all of them, wetin remain na the car and the house. As for six pack, I get only two ![]() |
