jamesversion: Why? Opposition needs to be fiercely united to overthrow a ruling party. You have SDP, APC, Accord etc all working differently and u want to overthrow PDP in Rivers state? |
Politics › Re: Ikwerres Will Suffer In The Future by Wainey: 3:52pm On Jan 02, 2023 |
jamesversion: Wow. You must be elderly if so. Rivers state politicians are self serving. Except Amaechi, Odili and Wike are not visionaries. I pray Tonye Cole wins the election so he can continue the good works of Amaechi.
I'm from Ibaa. Its not possible for Tonye Cole to win next election. To win an election, opposition must be united |

sageb: Yes, that's true. In 1999, Odili won the governorship against A kalabari man, Ebenezer Isokiari. That was lost opportunity for the kalabaris. you forget to mention influential men like Marshall Harry, A.k Dikibo, etc who were assasinated during Odili's tenure. So why u kon deh argue with me before? Abi u just felt like making me feel like a fool? |

omonnakoda: In my opinion Kalabari are more sophisticated than Ikwerre in many ways No person is better than another but around the time of Okilo the Ijaw/Kalabari were better, educated, exposed and connected This is what i was telling sageb |
Politics › Re: Ikwerres Will Suffer In The Future by Wainey: 3:02pm On Jan 02, 2023 |
sageb: They held positions in power, yes but A kalabari man have never being a Governor of Rivers state. so what I post earlier is the fact. I didnt say Kalabari governor. But the time of Okilo, Kalabari had and took everything, the emergence of Odili wouldnt have been possible without a kalabari man, Late Chief Graham-Douglas, he was like the Tinubu of Odili govt. Infact Odili biggest obstacle were all Kalabari men One was from Harris/town, his name is Harrison, they had to eliminate him to pave a way. Kalabari controlled Rivers state back then and they were united, if u ar looking for a job and u speak their language, they will quickly see u as a brother which gives u an advantage. Odili eliminated the Kalabari dominance. |
Politics › Re: Ikwerres Will Suffer In The Future by Wainey: 2:33pm On Jan 02, 2023 |
sageb: A kalabari man have never being a Governor in Rivers state. If you disagree, then post the name of the Kalabari man here. Oga do not argue with me. Go back and ask ur parents if Kalabari's ruled Rivers. Kalabaris were the first to have civilization, they were everywhere in govt, even VC's are occupied by them. The Ikwerres were just farmers, Ogonis were mostly fishermen. Kalabari didnt leave any position to others. Even till this day, a Kalabari man looks down on others. Go to Abonnema or Buguma and ask questions boy. omonnakoda: lol Or the foolish nature of the others? Ijaw are smarter than Ikwerre especially Kalabari are more sophisticated and educated This is exactly the mentality, they still feel they are smarter and better than others, these are people still probably living in the village who still believes that nonsense |

mrvitalis: The anti Igbo sentiments by wike killed that alliance ...if he endorse Tinubu it's over forever ...but endorsement of Obi might mend it You have no idea what Rivers politics looks like. Peter Obi is not loved unconditionally here in Rivers state, and his presence will never alter the gubernatorial election which is tribalized, the only place he gets such love is SE states. No matter how the presidential election goes, its obvious Kalabari will vote for Tonye Cole or Dumo briggs, Ogoni will vote for Magnus Abe, Opobo/nkoro will vote SIM while the rest will share votes however they like. whoever Wike endorses will never change this fact Peter Obi is chosen because Rivers people do not want APC govt neither do they want another Fulani man after Buhari. If Peter Obi has no influence in the gubernatorial election in Anambra then he definitely wont do shit in Rivers. Peter Obi needs Wike and not the other way round |

Zikojukwu: This Is Not Time To Play Politics, It's Time To Save Nigeria, Millions Are Dying, Save Lives, Save Nigerians
A Yoruba adage warns that the sweet food in your mouth should not make you forget the bitterness of hunger. Now the politicians are giving you 2000 Naira, some giving you some cups of rice so you can lose your precious future, your PVC. Hmmm! How many times did they give you seven years ago while your were crying around? Use your brain. Don't allow them deceive you and kill you later. Don't vote Tinubu. He is a big thief. He is not honest and above all he is old and sick. His party APC has caged Nigeria. Don't vote Atiku, his party has not made life easier. Vote a new party that you believe will do something different. Let your vote speak your heart, your conscience. Even if the candidate doesn't win, you will be happy you have followed your conscience and done what is right. Stand on your feet and don't allow their noise carry you away. This is the time to save Nigeria. Vote right, choose right. Election is for mature people, not gullible adults. This kind of campaign started and also died in 2015. You are only destroying PO chances. if u think politics of insults will work again in Nigeria then u must be smoking a very rare substance |

Makavelli001: With what Gov. Wike is doing, it is certain that it will take more than 5 Decades for an ikwerre man to become Rivers State governor again. Wike doesn't really know the implications of what he is doing. Tribes in Rivers state are really disgusted of wike attitude. The Kalabari's did this same thing in Rivers state, they held onto power and sidelined every other person back in the 90's and 80's Today the Kalabari's are suffering it. |
