Tycoflu:OK man...they perhaps live longer than rams. |
For fans of Don Jazzy and his Mavins, this is an exciting time, as the record company has partnered Access Bank for a live music concert in Lagos this Xmas tagged Access Mavin Concert. The gig will parade the entire Mavin Records lineup on one stage for several hours of performances. From Dr. Sid to Tiwa Savage, Korede Bello, Di’ja, Reekado Banks, D’Prince, Don Jazzy… it’s going to be an interesting evening. Billed for Wednesday, December 23, at the Eko Atlantic, with tickets pegged N499 per person, this will be the first time the record company would be staging a live music concert since it’s three years of existence as a leading music house in the country. For Don Jazzy and his ‘gang’, it’s an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to fans, who have supported the brand over the years. Speaking at a press conference held recently in Lagos to herald the concert, Mavins boss Don Jazzy stated that the Access Mavin Concert is a special ‘Thank You’ event in recognition of the support from their fans, who will only have to pay a fraction of typical gate fees to get in. “We are very excited to be able to put this together this year after three years of steady progress as individuals and as a label. Despite many odds, we have been able to get to this point and do so many unprecedented things in the Nigerian music industry. I am particularly pleased that Access Bank wants to share in this success story and contribute to it and I am sure that the fans will love what we have in store for them on the night.” Though a Mavin Record’s gig, there are indications that a few other notable Nigerian artiste are likely coming on stage. “For now, it’s all about Mavins, but at the right time, we will confirm other artistes on the bill. Of course, some of our friends in the industry are interested in performing that day, but that’s information for another day,” Don Jazzy said. Giving his own thoughts on the event, Mavin Records artiste Dr. Sid said recently, “Our fans have always been here for us through thick and thin. Without them, there will be no Mavin Record Label or Don Jazzy or Dr. Sid. What could be a better way to appreciate their loyalty over the years than this?” For Tiwa Savage, “I can’t wait to thrill my fans at the concert and appreciate them for all their goodwill messages during my sojourn to motherhood. It’s going to be exciting performing on stage with my label colleagues and I just can’t wait.”

Often times, people talk extensively about dogs, and sometimes cats. Inasmuch as I love dogs I can't keep them for quite religious reasons. I can't keep a pet that I can't play or interact with. As for cats,I raised them in the past but I stopped my love for then until I got attacked by my favorite cat,Timmy. To be honest, that day Timmy had its judgement... lol. However,I recently found love for keeping rams. I have in the past owned three. There's this particular ram I have been keeping for 3yrs now and I named it Gomez. Gomez is so used to me that I know when it needs water or food.It gets its medication regularly and only fell sick once few months after I bought it. Interesting thing about Gomez is that I don't have to hoot the car horn when at the gate. It does the "meeeeeh* and the kids know dad is around. Those into buying rams for betting and competition keep approaching me to buy Gomez for prices ranging from #150k and #300k but the love my family and I have for Gomez will not allow us sell. Below are its profile : Name: Gomez Calculated age: 7yrs Breed: Wuda Year bought: 2012,November Favourite food: Iowa(beans shell) Weekly consumption: #2,000 Medication: Injection and tabs Bathing: Every Saturday Food servers: My twin girls (14yrs) Food mode: Morning and night Weight when bought: 62kg Weight now: 82kg Appr lifespan: 11yrs. Residence: Ikorodu I can go on and on giving details on my pet but it's OK for now. Lets discuss our pets and pls sustain this thread. Thank you.

As they say "too much of everything is bad". |
Whenever the word ”sex” is mentioned, many of us draw closer attention – not just because it is a word we need to hear but rather, a word we are actively used to as adults. In fact, most of us cannot ”feel the wilds of life” without a sensual taste of sex with our partners. Many of us have sex for various reasons best known to us…for kids, to release stress or just for the fun of it. Well, while scientists have proved that sex can decrease anxiety and improve our moods, sex can also be unhealthy if it interferes with your day to day life. Let us read of 6 major health problems that can be related with the effect of having too much sex. 1. Dehydration Scientists have proven that too much sex ( 5 to 10 times a week) could make you become dehydrated – this means that your body loses so much vital water that could end up making you look pale. This is especially so if you have been taking alcohol before or while the sex. Though harmless, this is the most common effect of too much sex. 2. Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) Having too much sex especially with different partners can expose both women and men to Urinary Tract Infections, a kind of condition which affects the bladder. To avoid contracting a UTI, you should take plenty of water and make sure to empty the bladder before and after sex. 3. Trouble Climaxing Men are often unable to climax after having too much sex in a short period of time. This is because you have exhausted or considerably ’emptied’ the sperm and semen levels. 4. Poor Vision While this might seem strange, scientists have concluded that too much sex could get you lose your sight. This happens when blood vessels in the eyes pop during sexual activity. You need not worry too much if this happens to you as it will heal and become normal with time. 5. Hair Loss Sexual intercourse increases the levels of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in the body. This hormone, in turn, leads to hair loss as DHT is known to kill hair follicles and cause male pattern baldness. So those of us males having issues with baldness, we may want to go back and check our sex history. 6. Heart Attack The last and most scary effect of having too much sex is that you could be on your way to suffering from a heart attack. While sex can be good for your heart as it is a cardiovascular activity like some others, you should do it with cautions if you have a history of heart problems as constant palpitations and gasps for breath (considering the roughness of sexual activity) could land you on the hospital stretcher! During a visit to the former Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, on Wednesday by the Governor of Kano State and immediate-past Minister of Education, Mallam lbrahim Shekarau, at his residence in Akure over his recent abduction by some gun men, Chief Falae said served as a minister without collecting any salary. Shekarau, who arrived Falae’s residence on Wednesday evening thanked God for bringing him home safely. He said: “Chief has served this country meritoriously; he did not deserve such treatment in whatever manner, he is a man that should always be celebrated,” he said. Shekarau also spoke on the need to encourage community policing, saying this would help in reducing the rate of kidnapping in the country. Falae thanked Shekarau for his visit and said when he was Finance Minister, he was never paid a salary, but he served in the interest of and for the progress of the nation. He said that he survived the abduction through the grace of God as the abductors attempted to kill him. He said: “ God has a way of doing His things, I know God just decided to spare my life, God really saved my life, they tortured me, stripped me naked and did a lot of things to me in their den, they even attempted to kill me but they did not succeed. “I also thank God for making me to survive the ordeal because if they had killed me there, many lives would have been lost too, it would have become an ethnic war between the Yoruba and the Fulani. So I thank God that the matter did not get to that level.” Source: Vanguard

Someone shared this pic with me and since then I have been wondering if it's an act deliberately exhibited by some persons or just mere negligence on the part of the manufacturer. However,we all need to be more cautious health wise for "health is wealth" as they say. Pls share with family and friends.

ZIMBABWEAN self-styled messiah Khulu Reinfirst Manyuka has died from malnutrition after going without food for 30 days when he tried to emulate Jesus Christ and fast for 40 days and 40 nights. Mr Manyuka, 73, left home on 15 June and headed into the bush to conduct prayers, redirecting his attention to God, away from things of the earth. He was known by his family and community at large as a very spiritual person whose faith could move mountains and his death has puzzled those close to him. One close relative said: “He was a very spiritual man. It’s unfortunate he had to die this way. “After a month we got the sad news of his death. He was a healthy and religious old man who did not even look his age." Attempting to equal or break Jesus Christ’s record of fasting for 40 days, Mr Manyuka gave up the ghost after just a month despite having no history of illness. He was alone in the wilderness and his body was found by a stranger who then alerted the police. According to the police, Mr Manyuka is not the first to die from fasting, as numerous other cases have been reported. A police spokesman said that they are powerless, however, to prevent members of the public from fasting. http://www.nigerianwatch.com/news/7575-jesus-of-zimbabwe-dies-after-30-days-of-fasting-as-he-attempts-to-break-christs-record#sthash.D4Xhfe1Q.dpuf

OONI of Ife Oba Okunade Sijuwade's burial has been put on hold after a man elected to be buried alive with the monarch absconded unwilling to be the one to keep the king company in the afterlife. Unconfirmed reports from Ile-Ife indicate that the designated person to be buried alive alongside the monarch, known traditionally as the Abobaku, took to his heels for dear life. In Ile-Ife culture, the Abobaku is a person selected by the traditional chiefs to live and die with the king and is treated well and showered with a lot of care and gifts while alive. Apparently, the incumbent Abobaku ran away following the confirmation of the death of the Ooni earlier this month. Despite denials of the death by the Traditional Royal Council of Ife, he refused to wait for confirmation and has been at large ever since. According to Yoruba tradition, a king does not die alone and his burial rites include being buried with other people. An Abobaku lives his life for the king and is buried alongside the monarch. In the authentic tradition, just as there is a lineage that becomes king, there is also always a family dedicated to the ancient belief of dying with the king. It is not yet clear if the Traditional Royal Council will go ahead with the funeral following the disappearance of the Abobaku. Earlier this month, the traditional authorities in Ile-Ife said that there will be no human sacrifice involved in the burial of Oba Sijuwade. Apparently, Oba Sijuwade abolished human sacrifices when he was still on the throne and was said to have appealed to the gods to help put a stop to human sacrifice, describing the act as barbaric, callous and inhuman. Prominent Ifa priest, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, confirmed the abolition of the practice, adding that what will happen instead is that the cows will be dressed up to make them look like humans. Oba Sijuwade, 85, was the 50th monarch of Ile-Ife believed to be cradle of Yoruba civilisation and the ancestral home of all Oduduwa's offspring http://www.nigerianwatch.com/news/7556-ooni-of-ifes-burial-delayed-as-man-designated-to-be-buried-alongside-king-absconds
