Foreign AffairsRe: SA Arts Minister: We Can't Be Held Hostage Because Of Gigs, They Must Go - TWEET by wallrichy: 3:07pm On Jun 17
Banana banana, there is already confusion and animosity in the Zoo of the Zulu ....what a gash! 😂 😂

RandDigital:
South African Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture - Gayton McKenzie - says he feels "insulted" that Justice Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi talked publicly about artists’ plight without first consulting him.

McKenzie was reacting to Kubayi’s warning at Sunday’s Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration media briefing that continued tensions around migration were beginning to have economic consequences, revealing that at least one local artist had all her performances across Africa cancelled.

“The majority of South African artists perform on the continent, and many of them are seeing their gigs being cancelled. That's another impact, because they benefit quite a lot, they perform at live performance events and everything.

“We can’t lie about it, the backlash,” Kubayi said. “One artist reached out to me to say all her gigs on the continent had been cancelled. This is an income loss for a South African.”

She said the creative sector was particularly vulnerable, as many South African artists rely on live performances across the continent for their income.

Source

McKenzie has repeatedly come under fire for not caring about the Arts and Culture part of his department after he slashed funding for key arts festivals.

He came out defending himself, saying that festival organisers cannot expect to grow old with the government as their "mother and father and your everything" forever.

"What about the new promoters? We are opening up the industry. Luckily for me I don't care what they write about me. That's why they cannot shame me into writing about me. I thrive from bad news," he said.

He is currently facing criticism after DA MP Leah Potgieter recently raised alarm, stating the FIFA trip could amount to a R19.2 million expenditure.

McKenzie has vigorously defended the inclusion of 20 fans and 20 artists on the trip to watch the World Cup, explaining that sport and music go hand in hand.

I simply love your input....same thing I have always told people without any form of hesitation . As a leader or head of an organization, I wouldn't listen to anyone to discourage me from protecting my organization or citizens base on the possibility that I am acting unreasonably taken preventive measures. If this action was taken before the 9/11 when suspicious moves were noticed by the FBI, CIA and even the citizens. That incident would have been prevented.......it's better to be pre-emptive and proactive than be collecting RIP, Am sorry, I pray would never happen again sympathetic statements after the harms has been done. If Nigeria had done such, much wahala of today would have been nipped in the bud..

Science/TechnologyRe: SpaceX To Acquire Cursor for $60 Billion by wallrichy: 2:47pm On Jun 17
The future is likely to reward three groups.

1. Those who build AI.
2. Those who build businesses around AI.
3. Those who become exceptionally effective at using AI.

Note that the third group is far larger than the first, and many people in it will do very well.

So rather than seeing yourself as excluded from the opportunity, consider how you can position yourself to benefit from it.

AI is not only creating a new class of producers, it is also creating a new class of highly empowered users. Future is already here with us I must say.... 😂 😂

PhonesRe: What Every Jargon You See On Your Phone Specifications Mean by wallrichy: 2:33pm On Jun 17
Great information you just provided here. Very educative. Thanks

chatinent:
Phone Specs Explained in Plain English (Android Edition) 📱🇳🇬

How far, Nairalanders! Good morning.

You want to buy a new Android phone, you open specs websites, and boom—you are hit with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, 120Hz AMOLED, 5000mAh, 12GB RAM. It looks like alagbagidigba, right?

Let’s break down exactly what these phone specifications mean, what they actually do for you, and a simple way to visualize them so you never get cheated by phone sellers again.

1. The Processor (Chipset / CPU)
This is the engine and the brain of the phone. Popular names include Snapdragon, MediaTek Dimensity, or Exynos.

What it does: It handles every single calculation. Opening apps, loading games, processing photos, and making sure the phone doesn't freeze. A bad processor means a slow phone, no matter how beautiful the body is.

The Blueprint: Think of the processor like the engine inside a commercial bus. A weak processor is like an old, smoking Danfo engine trying to climb a steep hill on Third Mainland Bridge while carrying full load—it will struggle, heat up, and move slowly. A powerful processor is like a brand-new luxury interstate bus engine that flies past traffic effortlessly...like the Blue link or the one Otti built.

2. RAM (Random Access Memory)
You see things like 4GB, 8GB, or 12GB RAM.
What it does: This is the phone's short-term memory. It holds the apps you are currently using so you can jump from WhatsApp to TikTok and back to WhatsApp without the apps restarting or reloading from scratch. More RAM equals smoother multitasking.

The Blueprint: Imagine a market trader's display table. If the table is tiny (4GB RAM), the trader can only display a few tins of milk. To show milo, they must pack the milk back into a box first. If the table is very wide (12GB RAM), they can spread out noodles, rice, milk, and beverages all at once, attending to multiple customers without any delay.

3. Storage (ROM / Internal Memory)
Usually listed as 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB.

What it does: This is the phone's permanent wardrobe. It's where your downloaded apps, WhatsApp videos, system files, photos, and music live permanently.

The Blueprint: Think of storage like the size of a shop container. A 64GB storage is like a small roadside kiosk; it gets choked up easily after you put a few heavy items inside. A 256GB or 512GB storage is like a massive wholesale warehouse where you can stock up on thousands of heavy video files and applications for years without running out of space.

4. Refresh Rate (60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz)
This is measured in Hertz (Hz) and applies directly to the screen display.
What it does: It is how many times the screen redraws its image every single second. A standard phone does it 60 times (60Hz). Modern mid-range and flagship Androids do it 120 times (120Hz). Higher numbers mean scrolling through Facebook or gaming feels buttery smooth with zero lag stutters.

The Blueprint: Think of it like a deck of cards with drawings on them that create a moving picture when flipped. If you flip the cards slowly with a stiff hand, the movement looks disjointed and rugged. If you flip them with a professional, swift hand, the animation looks perfectly continuous, fluid, and natural to the eyes.

5. Battery Capacity (mAh)
You usually see numbers like 4500mAh, 5000mAh, or 6000mAh.
What it does: "mAh" means Milliampere-hour. It’s simply the size of your fuel tank. The higher the number, the longer the phone stays on before NEPA or your generator needs to save you.

The Blueprint: This is exactly like the fuel tank of a generator. A small 4000mAh battery is like the tank of a small "I better pass my neighbor" generator—it finishes quickly and demands a refill. A 6000mAh battery is like a large diesel tank on a soundproof generator that runs comfortably through a long weekend without blinking.

6. Screen Type (LCD vs. AMOLED / OLED)
What it does: This is the technology behind your display panel. LCD screens are basic and use a massive backlight that stays on constantly. AMOLED or OLED screens make colors "pop," and when something is black on the screen, that specific part of the screen completely turns off. It saves battery and looks crystal clear even under direct afternoon sunlight.

The Blueprint: An LCD screen is like an old billboard illuminated by giant, external floodlights from behind—even the dark areas look slightly gray because of the background light. An AMOLED screen is like a modern digital LED billboard where every single pixel is its own tiny light bulb. When a section needs to show black, those bulbs turn off completely, creating perfect darkness and vibrant colors.

For dem chairman dem:
Next time you go to Computer Village, Slot, or order online:
👉 Want a gaming phone? Look for a high Snapdragon/Dimensity processor and 120Hz.

👉 Want a phone for heavy multitasking? Look for at least 8GB RAM.

👉 Tired of constant charging? Don't buy anything less than 5000mAh.

We will discuss what cookies and caches stand for next and what they actually do for you. I mean in a layman's terms.

Have other inputs? Drop them.

Foreign AffairsRe: South African Artists Gigs Cancelled Across Africa - Justice Minister, Mmamoloko by wallrichy: 3:01pm On Jun 15
That's a great write up and a big lesson for me to learn. However, I am not generalizing that all Nigerian in SA were into drugs. I said some Nigerian were into drugs trafficking, also, I intentionally limited my write up to my beloved country, Nigeria. I know that other countries are being sent out too out of SA but the one that pull a string in my vein is my beloved Nigerian.

Sure, I am aware that many Nigerians are doing great things legitimately in SA. They have valid documents in SA and still forced or being force to come back to Nigeria. It's like when the criminals is being punished, even the innocent would share out of the punishment because you are from the same country, for example, Fulani kidnappers have heaped a load of hates on law abiding Fulanis. Right now, no one wants to accommodate any strange Fulani into your space because of the ethnic profiling, but come to think of it, can we blame the people for the hasty generalization? We can't, security should be our watch word and nothing greater than see evil and get rid of it as soon as possible if not immediately.

Hope you understand my brief explanation.

Thanks Bro

I am not justifying SA xenophobic trade mark, but my people are my people and I must say the truth which we all know about.
brain54:
I hope you understand that this whole situation is not just about Nigerians in South Africa...

Are Ghanians, Somalians, Kenyans etc being repartrated, harassed and mobbed also dons in drugs trafficking in South Africa?

You seem to be making this about Nigerians and not looking at the bigger picture of this affecting other black foreigners.

Criminals exist in every country including South Africa itself. If crime by foreigners justifies collective punishment then the same logic could be used against South Africans abroad whenever a South African commits a crime which would clearly be unfair.

South Africa's drug problem did not begin with Nigerians and would not disappear if every Nigerian left tomorrow. Drug abuse is driven by local demand, poverty, unemployment, social breakdown and failures in law enforcement.

Drug dealers cannot operate without buyers.

Blaming foreigners ignores the deeper issues within South African society... the root cause of the problems happening in that country.

Many Nigerians and foreigners affected in South Africa are law abiding professionals, traders, students, academics, healthcare workers and entrepreneurs who contribute positively to their economy.

Your claim that South Africans are merely "cutting off the snake's head" assumes Nigerians (by extension black foreigners as I earlier said as not only Nigerians are affected) are the root cause of South Africa's social problems. Yet South Africa continues to struggle with high crime rates, unemployment, inequality, corruption, and drug abuse even in areas where Nigerians are absent.

This suggests the problems are far more complex than blaming the foreign community.

Nigerians criticizing insecurity and poor governance at home does not mean they cannot criticize xenophobia abroad.

Both can be wrong simultaneously. A Nigerian can condemn banditry in Nigeria and also condemn attacks on innocent Nigerians in South Africa.

Consistency requires opposing collective punishment everywhere whether it targets ethnic groups, foreigners or fellow citizens!
Foreign AffairsRe: South African Artists Gigs Cancelled Across Africa - Justice Minister, Mmamoloko by wallrichy: 12:24pm On Jun 15
They haven't seen anything yet. However, I think our people too behaved very badly in SA.

Nigerian were the dons of drug trafficking, our people practically turned the already lazy youths of SA into Zombies by pumping drugs into their lives.

Go to SA and see endemic youths lazing around joints, hotels and big supermarkets in their large population doing nothing but taking drugs 24/7.

We always say Nigerian are hardworking, got vibes and charisma but at the same time, there are some Nigerians also engaging in destroying the host people's life for their own personal gain. It's the same thing Kenya, Ghana, Mozambique, Botwana etc are all saying.

We really need to tell ourselves the truth and not only judge SA based on their collective decision to cut the snakes head once and for all.

Imagine, just imagine that if we all can gather together and expunge the incompetence government or hold them to ransom until they do the right thing for the citizens. Imagine if every Nigerian can stand up and say no to Fulani kidnapping, herdsmen movement up and down, bandits and insurgency stoppage by the government.

Staying down tools and make life difficult for even the political elites. I tell you, something positive would start happening in Nigeria.

We are damn too docile and that's the reason the political elites take us for granted always....
brain54:
They ain't seen nothing yet...

They should cry me a river. Very short sighted and myopic people that can not see beyond their noses.

They ought to know that actions have consequences and if they didn't see something as basic and obvious as this coming even to a blind man then I agree with those that say they have shallow thinking and mindsets.

They should live in isolation since that's what they wanted.

Very weird people!

Let's even leave supporting APC aside due to the widely believe that anybody saying something against APC is bound to be supporting Atiku or Obi. The fact is that there are millions of Nigerians that aren't supporting Obi or Atiku but we all are saying it loud and clear that Tinubu should resign due to his incompetency and another person should come in,even if it's caretaker President for the next few months before the next election.

It's not a party thing but common sense and humanity sake...... Tinubu should step aside.....he's tried and couldn't do it....we understand that Nigeria is complicated and difficult to lead.....atleast the caretaker President can look into INEC and disinfect it completely so that we can have a great and credible election, can show more human sympathy to Nigerian needs, can focus directly on security and deal with it as needed instead of pampering terrorists and kidnappers killing us everyday and current government looking elsewhere so as not to anger the tribe of the kidnappers and the terrorists cos of election next year and assurance of their votes.

Gbadugbakun:
I still find it difficult to believe that there are people who are seeing all this suffering, killings, kidnappings, poverty...etc and still support APC.

CrimeRe: Soldiers Searching For Kidnapped Oyo Students And Teachers (video) by wallrichy: 6:29pm On Jun 14
I believe that for the soldiers to make such a video out, there's something they are probably trying to pass to the kidnappers. The soldiers have been working and devicing ways of rescuing the abductees without any collateral damage. It's a sensitive operation when there are several abductees. One GenZ said they should use helicopters and drones to execute the kidnappers after seeing them......that's a very unintelligent talk. We have lost about 3 to 4 of the abductees already and also spent over a months presently , the soldiers are the one on ground and nobody knows the level of intelligence they are working with right now. It's possible that those soldiers in the videos are passing information through the social media to the kidnappers to lure them out of their hide out or to distract them on their intention. This is a highly covert operation and all means will be used to rescue without collateral damages.
Reference:
Some other report the other day said they have identified the location of the captives but security forces were strategizing on how to get them out without collateral.

Means this was not a true report.
CrimeRe: Soldiers Searching For Kidnapped Oyo Students And Teachers (video) by wallrichy: 6:21pm On Jun 14
If you sensibly hate Nigeria , I mean, if your intelligent faculty is still working. Run out of Nigeria right now. How can you utter such a dirty word that you hate Nigeria. You can hate the leaders but not the country. The country is innocent.....
Dshocker:
Rubbish... If truly they are serious, this operation is supposed to be classified, so the bandits won't know that an ambush is coming.

But for some reasons, they brought it to the public, so Nigerians can be deceived into believing they are putting in action to the rescue 😂😂😂

Put all your efforts and loneliness into making more money. Make good money and your ex will come back to beg you to take her back but then, it would have been late because level has changed.....for now, forget relationship and add value to yourself. Get to school and upgrade with masters or Bsc.....give more attention to your work, make more deal, get into business group that brings progressive deals. Forget about girls or ladies for now, make more money and more money and change your outlook, start dressing wealthy, change your car to a better one. Just change your look and probably your environment but your mind should be centered in making legitimate money.....I tell you, by the time you are up there, you wouldn't need to hustle over a nice girl.....

Good day my fellow Nairalanders. Of late,my fiancee and I broke up and I've been considering about going into a new relationship. I must really say all the time I was with my ex,I was so commitment to her to the extent that I didn't even have time for any other woman. She knew that and Peru that must be one of my weaknesses she saw.

But the truth is that it's been over a month we ended the relationship and I really long to go into another's relationship as an escape route for me to stop thinking about my ex.

So,my questions to you my fellow Nairalanders, how long should a man wait before going into another relationship after a break up? Is it right to find love as soon as possible considering the fact that the it was my ex who ended the relationship for reasons only known to her?

She never said anything negative about the country but about the kleptomaniac and clueless leaders before and presently.

She's been very regular, consistent with her frequent remarks and approach to the ugliness of Nigeria as a country.

If you listen well enough to her several jabs against Nigeria, it's always about the leadership and not the country.

Every Nigerian that's progressive should get set with your PVC for the next year election.

The present leadership of the country have lost it completely and still going to loose it more if we dare allow them to come back to power. They are insensitive to our pain, greedy and lack all empathy to the suffering clouding every corner of this country. Please, let us kick them out down to prison.....

If actually it's SA that's been funding their returns, that's a big shame on Nigeria government and also a scandal cos they made us to understand that Nigeria government is the one doing it on their own, I even heard that they would back charge the returnees later. SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Portugal: International Friendly (1 - 2) On 10th June 2026 by wallrichy: 3:16am On Jun 11
I suspect something though contrary to your opinion. Nigeria team deliberately esteemed the Portuguese so that they can have a positive disposition towards the world cup. It's still a great match and remember that most of our top players weren't even present. However, it's a friendly match and Nigeria needs not to be too hard on the Portuguese so as not to cause any injury that could disturb their line up against opponents in the world cup.

I think they always have a post match discussion whereby most things like match expectations and engagement are discussed. And most important point of discussion are probably on prevention of injury, not so much hard tackle, even though both playing their best games but shouldn't forget it's a friendly match........it wouldn't be nice sustaining injury on mere ordinary friendly match to miss the real match......
smallsmall:
Nigeria's defenders are an embarrassment, imagine taking these sort of Clowns to the World Cup.
Ola Aina is just tall-for-nothing! Lazy and sluggish. Imagine if Ronaldo had connected properly with the Ball that passed right in front of Aina and He could even make the effort to stick his leg out, and he calls himself a defender?

"Animal farm" is tired and dodging the ball, he does not want a short to hit him!
The Two goals Portugal scored were not fantastic but these bunch of Sluggish Snails playing for Nigeria allowed such cheap goals.

Kudos to that young attack who scored our only goal.
He is hungry to establish himself, Six Goals in six International Call-up!
That is the type of Players we need, not al these second rate players like Bassey, Aina, etc

And our Keeper Okoye tried, he gave a good account of himself, in front of lazy and unintelligent defenders

If it's you, wouldn't you even beg for autograph? That's a once in a lifetime encounter. Might not have such occurrence again in this life or next......however, I like the way Portugal won, it's not because Nigeria was not good but experience matters a lot which ofcourse went the way of the Portuguese. Nigeria humbled them but it's great they go into the world cup with a clean sense that they met one of the best team in Africa that ought to be at the world and square it out with them man to man.......no walk over....but man to man......... remember, most of our top players weren't even present. I wish Portugal a great world cup.......
