US strategically protecting their interests and the interests are the oil and other natural resources.

US also highly interested now because if they continue been lackadaisical with Nigeria and her abundant resources, other contending nations like China and Russia might beat them to it.

Prolonging conflicts to be relevant and keep their base on the ground firmly.

So much to have a whole chunk of the entity called Nigeria.

1. Oil and gas reserves have moved from jusr abundance to actual ability to refine 650,000 bpd of private capacity with plans to increasw to 1.4bbpd threatens their control. However right see what they are doing to Venezuela and their oil?

2. Geopolitical competition considering the influence of China and Russia. Reminiscent of the scramble for Africa?

3. Access to resources

A CIA memo from 1968 indicates they were aware of Nigeria's instability but kept things together for their own interests, not ours. Now that a Nigerian (Dangote) can refine our oil, suddenly there's concern?

And as for their military intervention? Look at the outcomes.

The U.S. has been helping since the 1960s with training, intelligence, equipment, and AFRICOM operations. Yet Boko Haram, ISWAP, and banditry have only worsened.

What about Iraq? Libya? Afghanistan? Somalia? When have their interventions ever led to stability?

Their assistance typically:
- Prolongs conflicts (keeps them relevant)
- Sells weapons (for profit)
- Maintains presence (bases and influence)
- Blocks rivals (China and Russia)

If decades of their intervention had worked, we wouldn't still be discussing this.

We don't need them to announce our problems we need them to stop interfering with our solutions. Though our people and leaders politicize these too.

Moore isn't here to help; he's here to steer Nigeria in a direction that protects American interests.

Yes, we can leverage their attention. But let's not confuse strategic interest with friendship.

The refinery poses the real threat to them not the insurgency.

That's very interesting my brother. Let me answer you by saying Nigerians never sent Riley Moore and his entourage to come and intercede or interfere in our issues. They came due to the ongoing perception of Christians being killed by insurgents. There coming is a blessing in disguise because we have more issues on ground which is as necessary and very important to discuss as the senseless killing of people. The best the external world or forces can do for us is to spread our situations, tell the other world with their own mouth. Tell the United Nations etc.....its better when you make an announcement from the place of authority, just like Trump saying Nigeria needs to find their bearings, that country needs to go the old Russian way and be broken into pieces......You can see, that's a voice of a powerful Man and a powerful country, many people would listen to him and agreed to his views.....We should be thanking God that America has gotten interested in our situation and you know as well as I know, that America wouldn't abandon what they have started. However, we would still be the one to use our hands and break the relationship with the supports of external forces........

However, I still feel we haven't gotten to that threshold and that threshold is what the external forces too are waiting for. You know, in the situation of Russia Perestroika, the planning commence immediately after the second war world. The cold war was spearhead by the US and the UK but came to fruition gradually until it got to a point that the citizens overwhelmingly requested for separation of the entity called the Soviet Union......no refusal, no discord but willingly got their freedoms.....that's what I meant by nobody would put a knife in-between to separate us but the knife would eventually be used afterall at the long run.....will be given to us and we use it to separate ourselves.....note: the knife will be handed to us and we would use it to separate ourselves.....hope you understand that phrase?........

US have always played key role in dividing nations having internal crises, all they need to do it is a US President and some powerful congressmen interested in dividing that particular nation and it is a done deal, and if you prove too stubborn, they will turn your country to chaos and induce a civil war by sponsoring the aggrieved sides to wage a civil war, at the end, they still achieve their goal.


The only thing that can stop the division of Nigeria or prolong it from happening is for Yorubas especially to have some sense of decorum and stop thinking that they can lord over Igbos especially.....Yorubas must stop their arrogant bragging that AN IGBO MAN WILL NEVER BECOME PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA, that statement alone will lead to the division of Nigeria if they don't exercise caution and allow equity, justice, fairness and peace to reign but if they think they will continue to use politics of gangup and tribalism against Igbos to shortchange Igbos in Nigerian national politics and affairs, take it from me, Nigeria will divide peacefully or violently in no distant time, bookmark this thread.

3. Promoting evangelical influence
4. Opposing any changes that could upset existing power structures or American access

The core issues? Claiming to represent what Nigerians want while dismissing genuine self-determination movements. Insisting that discussions about division aren't serious when they clearly are.

Is Nigeria so unclear that we need Americans to define our existence? What fires are we stoking here?

Isn't it ironic that the same Western powers whose colonial borders created Nigeria's ethnic divisions now want to tell us those borders are sacred and unchangeable.

How convenient, isn't it?

So much was said in that short speech. In that speech alone, I could see that separation was an idea but never gave deep thoughts. I could also deduce that the separation was idly talked about and infact, the map or rather the division points was highlighted but wasn't official.

I could also deduced that the only factor been considered for not supporting the separation now is because of Christians in a part of the region. It was highlighted that they would suffer greatly if the support goes on and also emboldened the other religion that kills at will.

America has gone far in democracy. American system has a structure that is hard to infiltrate though Trump is doing so from the back door. However, America political system is well solidified in their Democracy, guess that's why they are call the pioneer of democratic structure. All the Congress can never be bought over like we are having in Nigeria. There is no way a puppet and a rubber stamp senate President and speaker would be allowed to sit in the Congress. Impeachment would have stopped such things from happening. The problem of Nigeria is our political structures, it's full of corruption and ulterior motives, leaving loopholes to rig election. Just imagine the new amendment to the electoral law yesterday, the rubber stamp puppets in the National Assembly still block the electronic transmission of votes by INEC immediately after voting, politicians always looking for ways to do the wrong thing....

If you need to reside as a legal allien within any country of ECOWAS, then the right thing must be done which is to revalidate your status as a Permanent resident. In ECOWAS treaty, it's well differentiated between easy flow of trade and movement but residency is another cup of tea entirely.....That's why when there's a problem between an illegal alien and the citizens, the illegal alien are mostly deported back to their country after serving their punishment.
