donjazzet: America remains the very best superpower our civilization has ever had.
This is the most peaceful time in humanity EVER and that is thanks to the institutions founded by the west.
People forget that multipolarism is even what caused endless wars here and there. America as a superpower alone, at least from the 1980's has invaded less than 6 countries.
That's a modern miracle when you compare that to the imperial powers before america.
From how we can see china and Russia govern their citizens, you better thank your God that America is who won that cold war.. China and Russia will definitely not give a fvck about Africa. I know the ones who at least care about the society at large. lol less than 6 in less than 50 years, you forgot to add countries they are currently occupying even against the wish of the people of that country |

DeLaRue: However much you say, many Nigerians don't want to hear it.
Nigeria could and should be better, but many countries around the world are in a more desperate situation.
Argentina: inflation at over 100%, their currency has nearly collapsed. By the way, inflation in Nigeria is around 23%
Egypt: Their currency lost 50% of its value last year; basic foods have become a luxury.
Lebanon: The currency has completely collapsed. They have more or less abandoned it for dollars. Previously middle class people are picking foods from waste bins. A loaf of bread in Lebanon cost about 20 times the price 3 years ago. In that time, Nigerian loaf prices have increased less than 3 times.
Several other countries, including Ghana, Venezuela etc are in worse situation than Nigeria.
None of the above is a reason not to criticise Nigerian governments.
But we have a new government trying to correct some of the economic errors of the past 20 - 30 years. Let's give it a year or two to see their performance...but no, some Nigerians insist we must continue in the old way even if that means borrowing more and more to keep prices of goods down (subsidy).
Smh. Does it make any sense to compare Venezuela who is under heavy sanctions with Nigeria or does it make any sense to compare Lebanon that is at war,and under sanctions to Nigeria that is Free, you said Egypt currency is down by 50% what is their exchange rate and do you know much about their infrastructures and employment rate and other welfare services |

20 years ago, no nation in the world except Russia can refused USA when USA told them to sanction a country but today USA biggest allies in ME, refused for the first time. Gulf apart from Qatar due Russia outsmarting them in Syria is still mad on Russia, the rest are importing Russia oil like no tomorrow. Even when Russia stated they are cut oil production, Saudi and OPEC immediately said they are cut oil production too even when Biden traveled down to Saudi. Biden went to Saudi Arabia and went home empty handed with no any remarkable goal attained |

donjazzet: Now this is where you've lost touch with reality or just not being realistic.
All Countries can never and will never be equal. It has never happened in the history of mankind or civilizations. There will always be very weak countries and there will always be poor countries and these positions change hands over time.
And I see where our divergence maybe comes from. You are looking at this from a perspective of "countries" while I am looking at this from a perspective of "individualism". I am not looking at this war from it as a nigerian. Nationalities are a human and social construct. There is no difference between a nigerian and a Malian or Senegalese or chiliean. Many of these countries were formed by even bigger countries. So I really couldn't give a damn about point of views of countries. I look at individuals and our society at large. What I want the world to be like.
And the west represents the best of humanitarian ideals.
You mentioned LGBTQ. Why do you think these people shouldn't exist? I look at bobrisky and I see a totally harmless individual who just wants to live his life, I've come across gay people, in my younger years in school. I remember being resentful towards them but I ask myself now why exactly?? These weren't people who sought to endanger anyone but live their lives. In some societies, these people are ruthlessly beaten and murdered.
Do you really want to live in a society that is that hateful to people different than you are?? concerning the gay stuff ,they said democracy is majority carries the vote ,so majority of the people in our part of the world does not approve of them and that is why they're not welcomed here , again it's un natural if everyone become gay the society is one day seize to exist because there will be no continuity, you can imagine some body is a gay but he want to adopt a baby Born by a woman |

donjazzet: Very very powerful points you've made there.
Thanks for outlining it like this.
Indeed there is one outstanding fact here! US might not be the very best superpower out there but they sure as hell are better than Russia, china, North Korea and Iran.
The reflection of these societies is all you should look at and see who is better. Anyone is who would tell you china would be a much better option than USA is lying to themselves. the idea of having a world super power it self is wrong all countries should be treated equally and should be allowed to pursue their independent policies, settlement of dispute should be done by UN alone, but today US approved of gays in their country but Uganda don't want that so that's a problem to US ,Wich is very wrong |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Russia-Ukraine War: World News, Weapons & Battlefield Discussions - Live by Watcharena: 3:15pm On Jul 25, 2023 |
donjazzet: I'm being realistic. In any strife you see yourself in, you ask yourself which is the best place to align with. Which person has the most moral cause.
For example, look at world war 2, almost all the major participants of that war could give 2 fvcks about Africans or black people. Not Germany, not US, not Japan or Britain or Stalin. None of them cared about the plight of the black man in the world. So at that stage you as a black man asks yourself, which of these powers would at least be a marginally better place for black people.
Then you see that even if all of them could care less about black people, they're were some of them who actively wanted to kill the Blacks. Who spouted white Aryan supremacy and wanted every other race dead or saw them all as much lower species. In Hitler's world, they're was no role for the black man, they wouldn't even employ them anywhere. But we could see that the allies were actively ready to work with black people in different capacities and a black man could envision his role in society with this black people than with the Germans, at this juncture, you align with the much lesser evil.
In today's world, In the present day, Putin is the only leader still talking about "gaining back territory". Russia is still talking and positioning itself as "imperial power" who seeks to gain "land and space for "it's people"".
Many wars in our world today are fought on "ideological differences" or economic purposes but Russia still dreams of the old world. Of how things were seven, eight decades ago. Of reclaiming "lost glories".
How can any African look at that and think it's okay simply because they harbor grievances against the US? Come on. In hating something, you push yourself into liking something far worse. I don't get me we're saying that we don't need to align with any body,if two countries have an issue among themselves we should still be able to relate freely with each of them since we don't have any issue with any of them ,for instance Nigerian foreign policy is based on neutrality but this is unacceptable to US,they want us to side with them and fight their enemy, does that make any sense in this ultramodern world? |

donjazzet: I'm highly infuriated that highly ignorant Putin retards will dare to talk about racism while supporting Russia and then being against the very western block that are going all out to fight against racism in the world today.
I mean, a black man like myself can project my dreams and aspirations on figures like Obama, Kamala Harris, Ben Carson, kemi badenoch and many other black people who went into a strange land and rose to positions of the highest prominence..
Today, Britain is ruled by a Pakistani Hindu man while having several nigerian born politicians at the highest level of power representing them. You have a black man in the US holding one of the highest military position in the US today. You look at french, German, English, italy parliaments and you see a lot of African immigrants being voted into positions of power and prominence. Highlighting the vast opportunities and upward social mobility available to all, meanwhile in our own very country, a Yoruba man with igbo heritage is declared persona non grata in Lagos. Leaders are still elected based on where they come from. Not to talk of Russia or china where it is practically impossible.
As I've always said, you Putin retards hypocrisy stinks to the highest heavens.
You are all grade A HYPOCRITES! not every Nigerian want to be an American or even have a dual citizenship ,we only want to be free to trade with countries of our choices ,and pursue our independent foreign policy without external control , country's energy should not be our enemy ,if one country have issue with another that should not affect our relationship with any of them ,US is not happy with countries that stay neutral in this conflict for what reason I don't know ,Saudi Arabia and Iran were amending ties ,US says it's against their national interest, what joins US and the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Iran in the leal sense does it make sense for US to make such comment |
