Why the gap?

The gapping of the weekly opening price normally occurs when there is a high impact news during the weekends.


example if a super power country invades another country on Saturday, When the fx market opens on Sunday night, Gold a safe Haven' pair will gap up.

This week gap I think is due to silicon valley and other banks collapsing.

But trading is a lonely journey. We don fail, go broke, enter debts, lost respect from people around us before getting the skill of trading. I have been in one place for 2yrs (trying to pass prop firm) before the Aha moment of discovering discipline.

(As the nigeria exchange rates went high, trading In dollars was expensive. I just stayed with prop firm that one day I will figure it out. I av found what works for me and I pray God gives me the strength to continue this discipline. Because if I lose it, I'm gone. I don fight people wey be like helpers to me because of this trading. I don abuse my elders call them stupid. No be me go follow una suffer for this country. Now, I'm on my own. Me and my God with trading to achieve the little I can do b4 death calls.

And i pray for strength to repeat the discipline of doing what has worked. I neva get money buy benz or house for lekki or relocate go gwagalada, But with God all things are possible.

This debate on 'volume' follows the same trend as the one between saxy4c versus meshpips , a few years ago

Let's try to re-orient the mind of a few traders in this space that are ready to listen and learn.

It is well known that 90% of traders will lose 90% of their trading capital within 90 trading days.

Why do you think there is such a high rate of failure in this industry? Which profession can we call the most difficult? Now check the failure rate of that profession. Let's talk about Medicine . . . the graduation rate in US schools has a lower band of around 81% (meaning less than 20% fail to graduate in Medical Schools in the US). A screenshot is attached to substantiate this fact.

Now compare 20% failure rate to what we see in the financial markets. I hope we all can clearly see that something is very terribly wrong with the FX industry. I am very aware that people that are not cerebral will not want to come anywhere near the FX market. Most traders I have met are very intelligent people.

It is needless to say that I finished with straight "A"s in secondary school. I finished as the Senior Prefect (Head Boy) in my set. i went on to get a degree in Mechanical Engineering yet the market showed me shege for many years. Our dear @gabsonfx also known as @pipsbasketing is a first class graduate of Engineering. He attempted to trade solely for a living and relocated to Nigeria from Canada. The market showed him shege! I can go on and on with stories of very erudite people that the market has shown shege.

Now think about this . . . if they have been telling us the truth about the market from the start why then do so many people fail? So I went on a journey of doing the reverse of what they instruct us. I turned the trend lines in the opposite way, checked the inverse of price quotes and did all sorts of things to see where the truth could be.

Let me not make this post too lengthy. I will post another shortly on how I started using volume.

It pain me a lot that those who don't post anything are the ones winning the competition whereas this three guys who work hard for this group are not gaining from it
I suggest the participation of traders in a competition should be base on how active the trader is in contributing to the trading and learning aspect of the group for every 3 month
So even if a trader that doesn't take part in d running of the group eventually win then that trader will be disqualified
You cannot reap where u did not sow
If u dont contribute to a family I dont think u should think of benefitting anything from them.

My own suggestion is past winners should be excluded,

they won prize money for prop firm account.

I expect them to grow their prop firm account , and become future sponsors of contest.

Really, their performance on the contest is excellent and that performance should be replicated on their live account instead targeting another contest win.

Based on several suggestions, I have modified the rules , Kindly read the rules again.
We will still use the ftmo trial as it will help us track the Daily DD rule. If there is anyone with existing ftmo trial account, You can easily open another one with a different email. We need the fxblue metrix to help us ensure no one is trying to run more than one account, it will also help us to track the ranking of traders among others, basically both fxblue and ftmo metrix will compliment each other and ease the tasks for me. Every one is able to see who is who in ranking with fxblue, I am able to confirm the daily DD with ftmo metrix and all that.
I have reduced the target to 5% and the contest will run for 14days. There will be only one phase.
All non Fta monikers have been disqualified.

Since the prize is a prop firm sponsorship, it makes sense that the necessary effort to achieve this prize should be a prop firm style trial.

Besides, 14 trading days is equivalent to three weeks, not too far off the original one month.

is the winner of the contest gonna be the first person to hit target in ten days or the person with highest balance after the 14 trading days?
