For the sake of some of us who may be able to identify the confirmed ' second Lnb" from the above image from the surface or outlook can someone show the full image and design clearly? |

Satdexter: The first one is meant for hollow dishes or those with short focal length. My opinion is based on their feedhorn design I found this, below ; petfun4u: With inverto black quad LNB, you will all be able to track Nilesat easily and with good signal quality, but getting the LNB in our macket here in Nigeria proof a big proble. Anyone with information on how we can get it here in Nigeria? remain blessed. |

Digitman: The Particular MBC HD he is referring to is located in 26 degree east ku band. However it's not receivable with 90CM dish but from 3m up. Except you have such kind of big dish. It will be irrelevant asking for tp. Thanks |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by WaytoGo: 5:00pm On Dec 01, 2020 |
Davdan1315: You can get MBC on Nigcomsat 42.5e, 26.0e, and maybe 7w all with Ku. I know all of that already and that's why I was specific about this particular position cos I want to give it a trial. |

SlyCharlie: DVB-S2X denotes Multistream, not DVB-S2.
I'm not sure of Multistream, but I think V7 plus is a T2/S2 combo decoder. V7 Pro is Multistream capable though.
The Complete MBC channels in HD, plus Alkass sports and other Arabic channels.
That brand of Diseqc is called TARGET.
Hope you are feeling better now bro. Is the above all MBC on Ku or Cu, and what is the tp for this? Thanks in advance. |

Satdexter: Good student. Smiles Thanks to digitman
Am thinking that we all need to discuss the performance of lnbs based on their feedhorn design. I have seen about 5 different types now. And i think it determines if: 1. If an lnb is good for Hollow dish or flatter dishes in both cases of offset dish design and prime focus design. 2. If an lnb will be good for secondary satellite signals not picked on the primary lnb holder. 3. If an lnb is very effective to pick high signal quality on both satellites picked together in a single lnb. Indeed! Happy new month....house. |

Digitman: Nice one... I believe you tried using that 32.9 lnb to test 42.5e and 51.5 e signal in this setup. To see how it pops up? It was late at the evening, I couldn't accomplish that due to time but I am trying that out after this first breakthrough. HAPPY NEW MONTH....and to everyone. |

Digitman: A patch software for strong normally comes from the unofficial website.
So you have to use the one from crosat.
Secondly the essence of that post if I am not mistaken. Is for people who have a dish pointed to the sat that have such channels that requires such keys to keep it open. Like (Afn) which normally is receivable by dish bigger than 90cm.
But our brother yawwilson that gave out that information will be in the best position to reveal more satellite channels that falls into the category of the information he released or hopefully other members in the house. That way everybody that is interested in going that route can easily benefit.
As for me I use it to watch AFN located at 5 degree east, ( though it opens AFN on other Sat position but I prefer the one in 5e because it has the complete AFN channels) under cband with a USB modem connected to my strong 4954 permanently Thanks for the detailed explanation. And, yes! I hope he gives more details and info as regards that. |

Digitman: why are you lost? Because all he said is plain and simple Let me explain why my confusion lies here ; There is another or alternative site for strong decoder patch-software ( you even gave me one yourself) and I did update mine there a few days ago. Also, there is an official website where a strong decoder user can update their decoder. Now, what I want to know is, can the patch be done on the stated or this alternative approach via the" strong decoder ' through the internet ( as explained by him)without the need for the alternate site for patch software that not official, anymore? |
Satellite TV Technology › Re: Free To Air Satellite Tv General Thread by WaytoGo: 9:52am On Nov 30, 2020 |
Digitman: Provided your decoder has access to a network.
Go to system setting,
Click on network setting
Click update online
You can take it from there Thanks! ..but I am lost at this statement of his.. anytime..Rem, it only works for patch software. it's not autoroll.. you need to do the update manually.. |

yawwilson: @Strong receiver users!! There is a dedicated server that update strong decoder keys in the box... just connect the box to the internet and you can update anytime..Rem, it only works for patch software. it's not autoroll.. you need to do the update manually I am a strong-D user, can you explain this better or give more details? |

Davdan1315: Bro unzip it with either WINRAR or WINZIP. You download either and install on your laptop. After installation right click the strong zip you downloaded and select unzip here or in a place you can quickly locate. Then transfer the bin file to your flash. This has saved from a lot of time and stress. Thanks a lot. |

Davdan1315: @Digitman
I'm confused about the coaxial cable. I saw TG6 coaxial cable online which I wanted to order, but the d..tv man around my place said there are different kinds of TG6 cable. He said his own 15yards is N2k when I saw 65yards online around that price. I also saw strong TG6 20m for 3k.
Please advise me on cable. These cable wire prices vary base on quality. |

Digitman: 1. I belong to the school of thought, that believes in the saying " use what you have to get what you want. Which in reality helped me to achieve all I posted yesterday. Before me, there have been many people who have done such a setup in their own way or method. All I did was tap into the idea of the possibility of such a setup and used whatever that was available withing my disposal to improve on it. So the question of make or brand of lnb is more or less trying to create limitations to myself. Take for example, that the someone among the people before me used an lnb of 5k or 15 k to achieve theirs and I limit myself by thinking it's what is needed for such to happen. Then. I would have not be where I am today. The moral of this is simple, don't do as I have done, rather use what I have done as an inspiration to make whatever that is withing your reach a tool to create or make something similar or even so so much better. Further more I also remember pointing out that the signal will vary in different decoders, but does not stop the setup from not fulfilling its purpose.
2. You have asked the question about decoder upgrade in the past pages and I remember giving you my own thoughts about that. You went ahead to ask the guy who was asking after how to go about activating his decoder. Today you bring back the same question. Then I ask myself, why will someone be so interested in fixing something that is not broken? You said to the guy that day that your decoder now multistream. Which if you Google your decoder brand in this forum. To check anything about software upgrade, you will notice it was and still is the only reason why such was recommended.
3. Yes I used diseqc and still wondered how whatever signal drop it brings is more important than the stability of a setup
4. 68.5e is not a sat with the best of signal. So a location can affect it, even the same brand of lnb can either give a low or strong signal. Dish alignment can still reduce signal, different brand of dish can still reduce signal. All the above tend to happen simply because the sat does not have the best of signal strength and as such could vary in different installations.
5. It's a binding wire. It looks like that because of rust. Due to long rain that touched it over the years.
In conclusion.. Many of us are where we are today, not because we asked all the questions there is to ask. But because we studied all there is to study and by so doing, there became no need for any or too many questions.
That's why you will notice some learned minds here will never bother to answer certain questions but will rather tell you to go and study.
At least four of the five questions you asked should not have been necessary. If you stop seeing FTA as rocket science All my questions are for learning purpose and understanding of what your teaching entails beyond the surface not because some of them were not cleared to me. For instance, I never knew it was a binding wire you used cos it looked like these one gotten from tyre. I appreciate your efforts and inputs, and for taking the time to explain and answer these questions in detail. Cheers. |

Digitman2: ... And here is for 32.9 east gallywood position I have a few questions here as regards your multi-lnb info and teaching shared yesterday ; 1. I observe that your lnb's provides quality signals, the least of your signals yesterday was 74-75 and above. Pray, tell us, how do you sort your lnb quality and what kind of brands do you often use or rather, used yesterday in your teaching? 2. How do you know when your decoder is due for an upgrade I am asking this question cos I don't know if it's safe or necessary for me to upgrade mine for the August update cos I brought it less than a month or so. 3. You displayed some screenshots of the various sats and signals you combined on a dish yesterday, I am curious, did you use Desiqc or you just plug them in separately. I am asking this cos I understand that combining up to that number of sats on a decoder via DiSEqC reduces the quality of the signals if I am right? 4. I observe today and each time I hunt @ Intelsat 68.5 the signals are either 45% or the highest I would get at, say, 51%. I want to ask, is this normal or the issue is my location or what? 5. Was it this round iron from burnt tyre you used yesterday to hold or bind these lnbs down on the dish? I believe this question speaks the mind of many of us who have one or two curious questions, consciously or subconsciously from the priceless info you provided yesterday. Thanking you in advance. |
