Human beings are the worst kind of creatures. Imagine bullying someone who is already battling with depression for looking different. We really need to teach our children to show more compassion and empathy towards people battling life's hurdles. But I guess that's hard to do since parents are not any different.

I have observed that most Nigerian parents treat their kids according to their financial statuses. Rich people will mostly shower love on their kids, call them sweet names, but most poor people are fond of treating their kids poorly. I guess it's the frustration of being poor that overwhelms them.

You raised an interesting question. There are so many women who are being abused but don't even realise it because they have been conditioned to normalise it and keep making excuses for their husbands like the woman in the video. So, the woman doesn't need to tell you what is obvious for everyone to see.

As kids, we called it Donkuwa. It was one of our regular snacks back then. Then I went to secondary school and learnt that those Northern women usually use their laps to mould it. Since then, I stopped eating any snacks made by Northerners.

Have you considered the fact that the woman is suffering from extreme case of low self esteem? Nothing warrants beating up your wife because she is not your slave. If she offends you and you can't stand her, then file for divorce.

Plus, it is better for a woman to be a single mother than to be with an abusive husband who may even end up killing her. If you haven't realized this as a church marriage counsellor, then it's time to find a new spare hobby.

A lady told me yesterday that she would deliberately do whatever her "big god" (the man who sponsors her bogus lifestyle) asked her not to do repeatedly just to get his reaction. She said as long as the man continue to tolerate her, she will continue to test him until the man react violently. She said she just prefers the violent reaction other than the continued warning. Nothing on earth will make me defend a woman who is in an abusive marriage. She deserves all the beating in this world. Perhaps that will reset her brain and help her develop common sense.

A culture existing for generations doesn't automatically make every aspect of it good, fair or necessary.

Don't sweat it. This practice of subjugating women is not a culture thing but a class thing. Men are very intentional when it comes to treating a woman right. And that is why some men value their side chicks over their wives because their side chicks appear more sophisticated than their wives.

That said, which man on earth will have the audacity to tell his wife who is a billionaire's daughter how to address her in laws? But they won't hesitate to read the riot act to their wives who is a nobody.

Honestly, I don't blame the men, but the women who condone such mistreatment. You should see how some women go the extra mile to defend a man for treating them badly. With such a mindset, many women will continue to be pawns in the hands of men. So, much of the blame should go to women too for being stupid.
