So, why were they protecting his image in the first place? Even if he were younger, he knew exactly what he was doing and should be treated like the criminal that he is. Here is my submission on what might have transpired: The lady drank herself to stupor and knew exactly what was going on, but was too weak to stop it. In the end, the woman may lose the case because the incident never happened in her apartment or the man's. She willingly followed him to the hotel without being coerced and that may count in the man's favor.
