@ Sunteria am headed to Newfoundland. The tickets are pretty expensive, but i would let you knw know as it comes along.

@ goggeda,
1) The letter of sponsorship from my uncle was written on his business letterhead
2) Yes the land documents were with C of Os but mine wasn't but i sent it all the same
3) I didn't include my NYSC certificate. I served at NNPC during my service year, thankfully after NYSC they asked me to stay on for an extra few months because of a project i was a part of. So in my application i said i was a graduate trainee with them, so that covered what i have been doing.

@All sorry for the delay in listing my documents.

1) Passport
2) All the required forms i.e the application form, the student questionaire e.t.c
3) Bank Statement of my sponsor stating $35,000 in his account (Uncle).
4) Original land documents for myself, my mum and my sponsor
5) Court Affidavit of support (although i sent this to them later later)
6) Reciept of my initial $2,000 down payment
7) Neco certificate ( i didnt use the original because i didn't have it, i used the one printed on my high school letter heading)
cool Original Certificate of my Bachelors degree
9) Admission letter, detailing the breakdown of cost of the program

I must note and to be honest, i don't think my application was well packaged but it was God that put the seal of approval.
God bless, let me know if any questions

@Tolyem Yea i have done my medicals since August

@Delta skepticism ke? i included my landed my properties, my mums and my uncles who is my primary sponsor. My uncle had about $33,000 in his account. I thought this was normal procedure for the embassy to ask you to pay for your tuition before issuing you the visa to travel.

@Delta007 @Newacca @EpicWin

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada by Wealth21: 5:05pm On Sep 19, 2011
@epicWin I was sent that email as well that if I don't have another start I should defer till the next admission start date. Which for me is January. So i have been in touch with them already, I should get the letter by week ending or early next week.

@ all Can someone pls explain what this means i got it from CDHC today.

"If your acceptance letter has an alternate start date, you will be advised as soon as your application is finalised. If your acceptance letter does not have an alternate start date, you are advised to defer your admission to the next available start date."

regards CDHC.

The latest date i have to resume is 21st Sept, i really dont know what to do.

@Epicwin are you going to Memorial??
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada by Wealth21: 11:01am On Sep 02, 2011
@Guddylover do you know if the CDHC contacted your sponsor through his/her bank.

@Delta 007 well you may be right, however this is from what i saw happen. There are always possibilities, the info is for people that may not want to apply in Nigeria. And a confirmation to what you said, his medicals results were sent to canada as well and he was even given a copy. There are always exceptions, but i believe their processing time would be faster than ours here.

@Delta007
Delta007:

Not true. If you apply thru the consulates in the US, you'd still need to do medicals and it could take 3months or more.
As a matter of fact, i know it takes less time. My friend just got his Visa from the Canadian High Commission in Washinghton DC. He sent in his application 18th of July and a week later he was called for his medicals and on the 17th of August he was asked to pick up his visa. This is not hear-say, this actually happened. And also, the wait time is definately not 3 months

Hello Nairalanders, i have some news for y'all. though this my first time of posting a reply on this forum but i have been following this thread carefully because i applied for a study permit to Canada too and my start date is Sept 6th. However thats not the news, the news is if you have an American Visa, you can travel to america and apply to the embassy there, it takes roughly a month. I would have done the same too only that i found out about it late. So i think i just gave a future applicant a heads up!
