My advice to salary earners, I am a graduate of Accounting and I have been working for the past 12 years but presently I don't have any savings. I have made some mistakes during this journey.
Below are my advice to salary earners so that you won't live in regrets as I am presently:

1. Save at least 20% of your earnings you can increase it if you have the capacity but it must not be below 20%, you can save it in a co-operative society, I learned that after some few months, they will lend you three times of the money you save with low interest rate.

2.Try and have a business plan, calculate the amount you will need for the business and save towards it, you don't need to leave your work unless it grows to a certain level that can pay 3 times your salary.

3. Don't touch your savings unless for business, it is good to save it where you can't easily access it , co-operative society, bank with instructions on duration etc

4. Don't entrust your business with family members, they don't take it serious, I have bad experience with this and I am regretting it.

5. Don't lend out your savings, people might not return it, I have bad experience with this and I am regretting it.

6. If you are working in a company where you have access to loan, please make use of the opportunity as the interest rate is low invest it in a business, there is no access to loan in my company so I don't have the opportunity..

7. Lastly know that you can't be young for life make sure you have a business running for you so that when the work force is rejecting your age limit, you will have something to fall back on

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara has expressed dissatisfaction with the job at the ongoing remodeling of Okrika Grammar School, saying there must be value for every money spent in projects across the State.

Gov. Fubara disclosed this while briefing newsmen shortly after inspection of the Okrika Grammar School, Okrika in Okrika Local Government Area on Monday.

"We are here this evening to inspect the ongoing remodeling of one of the foremost grammar schools in Rivers State that produced a good number of great men that are making waves in politics and other special disciplines in the State."

The governor noted his administration was touched by the very deplorable state of the foremost school and decided to give it a facelift and since the award of contract for the remodelling he has not visited the project but relied on the reports of the Commissioner for Education.

"My assessment, to be very frank, I am not satisfied. The Commissioner gave me the impression that 70% job has been done. From what I am seeing here I need to take over the supervision of this project to make sure I give my people a standard grammar school again."

He decried the slow pace of work and pointed out that the government has paid 100% of the contract sum but work on ground did not reflect the money paid, adding that he is taking over the supervision of the project to ensure quality delivery to the people.

Gov. Fubara emphasised that he will be meeting with the various contractors within the week to read out the riot act on handling the jobs to them, stressing that his administration will not compromise quality and value for money.

"I understand the issue of price differences, we can discuss those variations but the quality must match the amount that we spend. You know I am somebody who has to do with figures, so there must be value for money. At the end, our people need to be happy that we have done this and I also need to be happy that I did what is needed for our people."

DJ Clark Kent — born Rodolfo Franklin — has died at 58 years old following a three-year battle with colon cancer. Clark Kent’s family confirmed his death in a statement posted to the superproducer’s Instagram page on Friday afternoon (Oct. 25).

“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of the beloved Rodolfo A. Franklin, known to the world as DJ Clark Kent,” the statement reads. “Clark passed away Thursday evening surrounded by his devoted wife Kesha, daughter Kabriah and son Antonio.”

The post continued to touch on Clark Kent’s private battle with cancer. “Clark quietly and valiantly fought a three year battle with Colon Cancer, while continuing to share his gifts with the world,” they added. “The family is grateful for everyone’s love, support and prayers during this time and ask for privacy as they process this immense loss.”

A touching outpouring of support came from peers, friends and fans of the pioneering DJ-turned-producer in his comment section.

“Clark will forever be the culture,” Questlove wrote, while Raekwon added: “Awwww mannnnn. we gon miss this legend. condolences to the loved ones.

Fabolous commented: “Rest In Peace Legend. So many moments & memories. Spoke to me every time.. Believed in me & always rooted for Brooklyn. Shared gems with me every conversation. Phil Lesh, the bassist and co-founder of the iconic rock band The Grateful Dead, has died at the age of 84. His official Instagram account announced that he “passed peacefully this morning” surrounded by family.

The Grateful Dead, known for their psychedelic sound, formed in California in 1965 and disbanded 30 years later after the death of lead singer Jerry Garcia. Lesh was with the band from its inception and reunited with surviving members for a U.S. tour in 2003, as well as a final series of concerts in 2015.

Lesh’s Instagram post emphasized that he “brought immense joy to everyone around him and leaves behind a legacy of music and love,” requesting privacy for the Lesh family during this time.

With their unique fusion of rock, folk, and jazz, The Grateful Dead are considered one of the most influential bands in American history, crafting the soundtrack for the countercultural movement of the 1960s. Born in Berkeley, California, in 1940, Lesh began as a violinist, switched to trumpet, and ultimately found his place as a bassist with the band in 1965.

For three decades, his improvisational style complemented the melodies of lead guitarist Jerry Garcia and fellow bandmates Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, and Ron “Pigpen” McKernan. He was especially known for “Unbroken Chain,” which reflected the band’s bond with their audience, and for the poignant “Box of Rain,” written during his father’s illness.

Devoted fans, known as “Deadheads,” often followed the band on their tours, recording concerts to share with others around the world. Despite their massive fanbase, the band achieved only one top 10 hit in the U.S. with “Touch of Grey” in 1987.

While the cause of Lesh’s death is currently unknown, he faced various health challenges throughout his life. In 2015, he revealed he was being treated for bladder cancer; prior to that, he underwent prostate cancer surgery in 2006 and successfully recovered. He also had a liver transplant in 1998 and became a strong advocate for organ donation.

Lesh is survived by his wife, Jill, and their two sons
