A former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, who returned to Nigeria after nearly a year on self-imposed exile, has been detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Mr. Nyako was still at the commission’s office in Abuja by 5 p.m. Monday. He was said to have surrendered himself to the commission Monday afternoon. Mr. Nyako, who was impeached on July 16, 2014, was declared wanted by the anti-graft agency on February 4. The EFCC had declared Mr. Nyako and his son, AbdulAziz Murtala Nyako, a retired naval officer, wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering. The commission alleged massive looting of state funds by top officials in Mr. Nyako’s government leading to the arrest of key officials in the state including, the then Secretary to the State Government, the State Commissioner for Finance, the Commissioner for Higher Education, the Accountant General of the State and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Local Government. a1 source: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/184183-efcc-detains-ex-adamawa-governor-nyako.html?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter EFCC just woke up from sleep. Arresting corrupt officials is not enough what we need is discipline that will be sensed by a child from the womb. |
A BRITISH fertility specialist , Professor Geeta Nargund , has advised women to start having children before the age of 30 or risk never having children. In a letter to Britain ’s Education Secretary , Nicky Morgan , she lamented the increasing cost to the taxpayer, which she attributed to the surge of women in their 30s and 40s wanting IVF treatment. Nargund said : “ I have witnessed all too often the shock and agony on the faces of women who realise they have left it too late to start a family . “ For so many , this news comes as a genuine surprise and the sense of devastation and regret can be overwhelming . “ And so often the cry will be ‘ Why did no one warn me about this ?’ “ Information is power and the best way to empower people to take control of their fertility is through education. “ Ideally, if a woman is ready for a child, she should start trying by the time she is 30. She should consider having a child early because as a woman gets older , her fertility declines sharply . ” Similarly , the outgoing chair of the British Fertility Society, Professor Allan Pacey, backed Nargund ’ s view. He said : “ You need to be trying by 30 because if there is a problem and you need surgery, hormones or IVF , then you’ ve got five years to sort it out . “ If a woman starts trying at 35, doctors have got to sort it out when she is already on a slippery fertility slope. ” Pacey insisted that teenagers should be sensitised on this, even as from primary school level . Nargund , a consultant gynaecologist , who works as the lead consultant for reproductive medicine at St George ’ s Hospital in London , added , “ as women get older , they experience more complex fertility problems, so treatment tends to be less successful and more expensive . “ On average, more [IVF ] treatment cycles are required for a successful pregnancy. So educating people about fertility is very important for the public purse , because it will help us to get more babies within the same NHS budget. ” source: http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/06/gynaecologist-warns-women-start-children-30-risk-barrenness/ |
Boko Haram launches fresh attack on Maiduguri. Barely 24hrs after the take over of the Mohammadu Buhari administration and the successful swearing ceremony of Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State, the Boko Haram insurgents made a daring attempt to lunch a heavy attack on Maiduguri metropolis . Our correspondent reports that residents of the town were thrown into fear early as heavy bombardment between the insurgents and security rocked the town for over three hours on Friday night through Saturday morning. There are indications that scores of people may have died in the exchange of gunfire between the insurgents and the military as details of the attack are still sketchy. http://thenationonlineng.net/new/boko-haram-launch-fresh-attack-on-maiduguri/ Is this one same as twenty one gun salute? may be they are happy because their "lobby master..aka spokes man ....who alone know that they are ready to be de-radicalised" was inaugurated yesterday. my problem is they have terminated many lives prematurely and destroy so many properties. Shetti talk to this boys to stop the blood shed and not to Mbuhari. |
donhils:I did not know about that. thanks for sharing. |
"Newly sworn-in Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, on Friday said his new administration would, among other policies, pursue amnesty for members of Boko Haram who are ready to de-radicalise. Mr. Shettima, who took an oath of office to serve for yet another four years alongside his deputy, Zannah Mustapha, said he would lobby the new federal government of President Muhammadu Buhari to consider granting amnesty to the militants." source: http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/184005-borno-governor-attacks-jonathan-seeks-amnesty-for-boko-haram.html That was how they fall GEJ government! while the president MB is trying to put an end to national insult somebody is talking about lobbying him for amnesty. Then tomorrow another group will rise again to get there own share of amnesty, is amnesty a new name for national cake? The govornor said "they are ready to de-radicalise"...communication.....so you know them? wao! |
A respected General has spoken let no bloody civilian interrupt. Do you know if he got an intelligence information before such decision are made. Relocating the command to Madugiri or Bornu does not mean that there will be no barrack or army presence in Abuja. Strategy is subject to change. allow the president to do his work! Certificate does not confer on you the right to make good decision but experience does. In as much as his English is clean the rest is left to experience. when it comes to field work a degree holder without experience is worse than a School Cert holder with wealth of experience. what he deserve now is congratulations and prayers. Many people cannot rule there home they are complaining about the president who governs over 170 million people. if you know the president did not take the best decision....please join the army with your idea and go to battle let see what you can do. |
The truth is, the situation we find ourselves is not easy for some. the fingers are not equal so let us Chat constructively and respectfully. We have different temperaments and level of patience some can wait for years without being paid while some cannot wait for a month(after going through the stress of the month) is all about your kind of person coupled with the level of your ability to have patience. Whether you are for Gov. or against you may be right depending on your present position which involve many factors. This include your Financial Status, Political affiliation , Temperaments, Religion, Psychological and Emotional state and so on. No need to abuse each other, or fight each other we are all in the mess together. Just know that it will soon be over - as per when I don't know. May be today or Tomorrow all I know is, all will be well. What is on my mind now! I think we should start thinking of diversifying our resources in a way that it wont affect our Job instead of depending on salary as Nigeria is depending on oil. if we have money coming from other sources the government holding our salary will amount to "saving" it for us. God bless you all. |
All will be well. Sky bank and Diamond pls tell Ecobank and Zenith the secret before Wednesday. Thanks. |
DonDiego:Am just being objective not selective. I understand some are politicizing this issue am not a politician. I only say my mind whether Jonathan or Buhari they all deserve our respect irrespective of their strength and weakness. In any adventure is either you fail or succeed and in governance or politics why some are saying you are good, Some must say you are bad. Depending on how far and how much you are able to satisfy their want but unfortunately human want are insatiable (especially in a complex country like ours with 250 tribe and over 160million people with different ambition, intentions, heart and reasoning). So I don't expect my leaders to be perfect...they are not messiahs they are humans so I just respect and pray for them to do their best. GJonathan have tried, MBuhari is coming in, all I want is a country which we can always be happy to live in. God bless Nigeria. |
You did not know what transpired and you jump into a negative and destructive conclusion. Let me ask. When meeting is over and someone see you off from his office as a mark of respect and plead with you that he has to quickly attend to others while your entourage pick you up, is that not a respect? and when Buhari say no problem, I see you are very busy, thanks for hosting me. Is that not humility with understanding? David Cameron showed great respect to our most respected president elect. and Our president who is not a proud man showed humility and understanding. Simple! or do you want him to carry our president on the head to show his respect? Concerning the Obama picture if Britain's think the way they see the picture they could as well say Obama disrespect Cameron for making him to walk after him like his PA. But they are great minds only small mind thinks and talk down his nation and president especially when the president is a respected international figure. Stop this attitude, bringing the image of our president down is bringing our country down. Let us respect our leaders and join hand to build our beloved country Nigeria and its Image. God bless Nigeria. |

One can be schooled or learned and yet not educated. to be educated is not to obtain a certificate, it is not to work with government , is not to work as a teacher but rather it is to be knowlegeable and present knowledge in the most acceptable and appropriate manner and comport oneself into an acceptable level with the society code of conduct . This should be found among teachers we are not politicians who are fighting each other every now and then because they have forgotten the definition of democracy. they now take it to be what Fela called "DEMOSTRATION OF CRAZE" WE ARE CALLED TEACHERS! NEVER UNDER ESTIMATE YOUR ROLE IN SOCIETAL DEVELOPMENT. WHEN YOU SEE A POST YOU DON'T LIKE ...NO MATTER HOW HOT OR ABUSIVE... FOR PEACE SAKE IGNORE......OVERLOOK....AVOID....AND MOVE ON. PRETEND YOU DID NOT SEE IT. SILENCE IS A STRONG WEAPON IGNORED BY MANY...USE IT. THAT TO ME IS MATURITY AND EDUCATION! WHAT WILL YOU THINK WHEN YOU SEE A PROFESSOR FIGHTING WITH A CONDUCTOR. OR A NAKED WOMAN CHASING A MAD WOMAN WHO TOOK HER BATHROOM COVER... My brothers and sisters Not everybody on this thread is a teacher some just register to have fun. BE WISE! GOD BLESS YOU. note: words used here is just to drive my message across not to hurt or attack anyone. Have a blessed day. |
joyblinks:simple! |
joyblinks:Joy what am trying to pass across is this : we did not start the work on the 16th, the payment is delayed to that 16th, we started. 2nd Oct according what they said.....if not na Aug. The calculation is this 2nd October which we started to 31st is one month) at this point October salary don mature. same with other months. That they paid us sometimes on the 16th of new month does not mean we started work 16th, but rather they delayed the salary. normally salary suppose to come anywhere between 27th to 4th of previous and new month respectively. so in each new month we have already worked for 16 days or more before they pay 30 days salary of previous month. Anyway na govt work delay is sometimes expected. |
As for me I normally expect my alert any where from 10th to 15th of each new month . so instead of 30days is like 45 days something. 30 days of maturity and 10 to 15days of processing anything above these na prayer o. |
PaulThor:The Tab is 8 inches and battery 4500mah. it comes with free leather case for the tab and sold for N28500 online. The 7" inches of same product, with Battery of 3000mah is sold online around N25000. In summary I think is not too bad...they kept to their words of giving us the tab and all the lecture materials is installed inside, also it uses 2 SIMS , I actually thought they will not give us anything. At least I got part of my money in form of tablet. |
