Dear elders, seniors, landlord, silent crew,

I am about registering for IELTS with IDP MOD, however, there are no available dates with CBT/iBT GT, only Paper based.

Has IDP MOD IELTS CBT/iBT GT stopped? or am i not doing something right?

Nonetheless, should Paper be my sole option, i intend going with the 27 July date, rather BC IBT.

Side Note:
I am the excessively anxious type, even more than Osazee007. I need your prayers, advice and kind words. Lord, please this time, once Only.

Edmonton is about 7hr away from Highlevel, so imagine as the place is.

NO!, as stated by Stencil, just to buttress his assertion, you DO NOT need your spouse ECA/IELTS if your CRS POINT ARE "HIGH ENOUGH!"

Note: "High Enough" is subjective in the sense of optimism. you can decide to aim your yardstick at 442+ minimal while someone aims his at 450+, however, following recent trend, 450+ seems to be the new 442+.

That being said, your best bet is to accumulate as much CRS as gold coins, just enough to earn you ITA, SIMPLE!... the higher above recent threshold the better your chances of getting ITA in next draw...and the GOAL before ITA is to actually GET ITA...so even if your CRS score is 440 and CRS Score drops below 440 and you're given ITA, then so be it!

So go back to your CRS tool, play around with it and see what your outcomes are.

If;
i. without your spouse ECA you get above recent CRS cut-off average e.g 450+ then you might not. Otherwise consider ECA
ii. if you fall short by slim, and IELTS is reasonably good, you may consider using his IELTS alone and be optimistic, note he doesn't have to get 8777 like you need to, however, the higher his IELTS score the better your increment.
iii. overall, IMO i still advice people to shoot as much high as possible in terms of CRS.

NOTE, regardless, once you have ITA, no matter the CRS, it doesn't matter anymore, its just a sieve, to filter out the qualified from the rest. So don't be locked on getting 480+ if 450 will get you an ITA.

See the link to CRS Tool...this should be your game pre-ITA.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

:::OTHER TIPS:::
i. If amassing CRS Point is your thing, then ECA gives better point than taking IELTS. Especially when the certificate is 2 or More or Masters.
ii. I equally advice to have an ECA done, not cause its mandatory, however, just a side tip in case, any of you might want to consider pursuing further education in Canada within the next 5 year of ECA Validity. All you'll be required to do is inform WES to change your Evaluation to Course based. that's a gist for another day though. the point is made, either ways.

I hope this is helpful. I like to thank you for reading.

Dear house, good morning....I have some questions and need clarifications. I'm applying for my family and I'm the primary applicant.

1. Does my wife need to verify her own certificates as well?---SEE ABOVE
2. Does she need to take IELTS?---SEE ABOVE
3. If she needs to verify her certificates, can one WES account be used for my wife and I?---NO Sir, separate account, please.

Thank you as you clarify

Hello all. Please assit with answers. I'm the PA, is there any need for my husband to do ECA? He has already done Ielts

Nwachinemelu226:

[s]Yes, he would need to assess his result if you are adding him to the application. You would also need his WES reference while filling your application form so Yes he needs to.[/s]

1. Please is it possible to apply to ICES without uploading statement of results. I intend to send the statement of result and transcripts to the school using courier. Will I be able to make payment and get a reference number without uploading it? ---you're required to send (courier/fax) your certificate or SOR. A part is to be played by you i.e courier the SOR/Certificate and the School send the Official Transcript directly. Otherwise, it may be sent by you in a sealed school envelop via courier "un-opened". [Check ICES website for more info]

2. Secondly will ICES accept a transcript send to their email. Unilag has such features on their website and it costs 1k compared to sending using courier. I want to know it's it's compulsory to send hard copies of the transcript to ICES. ---I doubt, NORMALLY, its sent via courier and IF needed verification may be mandated from the school via email...note, the probability. For WES, it is a procedure, whereas ICES, maybe if required. However, you may search further or wait if someone who has verified their credential via the email route come along with their experience... Best bet, check ICES website for firsthand information. 1

:::SIDE TIPS:::
i. Consider using HelloFax for sending fax SOR/Certificate[Google to the rescue]

I hope this is helpful. And i'll like to thank you for reading.

Hello all,
I am a silent reader here. I tap from the very wisdom of blessed and intelligent people here who have made a deliberate decision to make life easy for fellow Nigerians. God bless you all. Nigeria is indeed blessed with leadership, but we only have a choice problem that's why we have square pegs in round holes. I want to thank Nairalanders for their support and also report my PPR , which I got since April 17th. I wanted to get my COPR before I report myself, but I have been bothered about flights and wondering if I and my wife will be allowed to book a one-way ticket to Canada, hence my decision to write sooner than I had anticipated. I will share my PPR journey/ story once I receive my COPR from Accra in about a week by God's grace. Thanks all, and please do help with my questions. Seniors in the house, did you book a one-way ticket or both ways?

You certainly should book ONE WAY, except if you have plans of returning, probably what we call "Soft-Landing". Otherwise, stick with one way. The visa you have isn't tourist...lol

Though Return is usually cheaper, but if you do not have reason to return any time soon, you may just do away with it and stick to One Way.

Also according to records, you may consider::: OTHER TIPS::::regarding traveling

<Ethiopian Air, Egypt Air, if money isn't much of issue, Lufthansa>
<you may also try booking via the app - cheaper>
<use skyscanner.net for favourable searches>
<play with dates for a month's time range>
<Sunday and Tuesday seem to be cheapest>
<Try make your trip before summer - J/July--A/Sept>

And by the way, Congratulations!

May Canada favour you and Family.

Side Gist:
Hurray to me!!! Joined the silent gang with a bang since 2017. In the space of time, i returned to get my M.Sc from NOUN for this mata. That's in the bag now, POF, ECA, IELTS to follow. i have learnt so much just by reading from several pages of endless question and enviable contributors.

Finally unveiling myself today since about 30-40% requirement is achieved.

Simulated CRS with max IELTS:::467

To our seniors/contributors...i say a very big thank you for keeping the thread alive, trust me, many have gained from this and yet, transforming many lives.

To colleagues in the races and fellow silent reader association...eyes on the prize...NEVER GIVE UP!
