Hello people,

Reading through the UK website for Travelling with Children,

Abeg, based on the screenshot;
- Do a 7 year old need to take the pre-daparture PCR test - I understand he'll take the day2 post arrival (one thing is to be on their website but airline practice something else). While babies below 4 do not have to take any test at all! (pre departure or post arrival)

Please anyone who travelled recently for the 5-17years bracket, what test did your kid/s do?

Thank you very much.

mimilyrics:
1. I think some people posted about this a few pages back. You can check or wait for someone who's done it this week to reply you.
2. Same as 1.
3. You can use the AirBnB website/app or booking.com
4. Depends on your card limits and exchange rate.
5. Get to the airport early grin
6. I don't know.
7. Use this link as a guide on prohibited food item: https://www.gov.uk/bringing-food-into-great-britain
You can bring stuff to tide you over the 1st few weeks but don't overdo it as most things are usually easily gotten around. You can bring your core African food staples to prevent you from the initial £/N conversion bug ie. Yam/plantain flour, poundo yam, semo and the likes. Don’t bother with anything that can spill in your luggage.

Thank you soooo much for the swift response.

omidan21:
@ wearedlucky1s: Thanks so much for this explanation. I also soo needed it .

I will most likely be landing at 33 35 weeks. I am traveling mid February and Baby comes around mid March Going to Winnipeg.

1. The 14 days quarantine is it compulsory we rent an Apartment or can we stay at our family place during that period .
2. Also any Manitobian Winnipegers here.
3.Can I contact hospitals or doctors online while on two weeks quarantine.
4. Wld I get the health card at least within that two weeks cause once quarantine is over I need to be secured Doctors appointment the time is soo soo close .

It's my delight to have been of help.

Firstly, as regards the bolded text, biko check with your desired airline.

1. As regards quarantine, no you dont have to rent right away, however your host cannot live together with you in the same apartment/rooms during the 14day period, most especially if they will be going out and coming in daily. The essence of the seclusion is so that new arrivals do not spread it if they are infected, and to be sure they are truly clean if they are not infected. If you must stay with your host, then they have to have a form of arrangements that will ensure they do not come in physical contact with you all through the period which somehow is almost impossible if you all stay in same apartment. Your best bet? Get an AirBnb for that period and then move out at the expiration of the 2weeks rent to your family location.

2. Well, there are a couple of them here, I cannot remember any from the top of my head now, I would have helped you to tag them, however, I am sure they will come around or you may choose to ask location specific questions and, surely, dem go answer you.

3. Yes, Yes, and Yes! In fact there are couple of medical facilities and options that can even include some level of remote consultation and medical aid, we even get some even for naija self. You can start to look out for midwives/medic support now self even while you are still here, due to your current status.
Please start ASAP, also as regards insurance, I do not know for certain how it works in Manitoba/Winnipeg, but you can research that and probably ask any Manitobian as you call dem.lol

4. Well, as in #3 above, I don't know firsthand how it works in Manitoba but I strongly doubt you will get the health card within that short period. Also, you are not allowed to go out nah. But, you can be sure you go get medical support after your 14day quarantine - surely! The worst case is they will consider you as a walk-in patient - for this, you may have to pay, usually from 5k CAD and above with natural birth. It will be more with any complications or CS. Please do not try to consider this option since proper planning can get you free healthcare if you do everything on time. Also, please go along with your medical reports from the doctors visit/prenatal you did or have done in naija, because that also can decide how your case will be treated.

Don't wait o, biko start now, you can get lucky that you go even register from here self and know/choose the hospital or midwife self...never say never.

Congratulations on your PPR and cheers to your new life.

Wishing you safe trip, landing and delivery.

I hope this is helpful and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Hello everyone. Compliments of the season. I just got my PR and we're planning to land next month. Please I have a few questions and I'll appreciate if you guys can put me through.

1. I'm pregnant. We plan to land in Toronto, and I'll be about 35weeks gone by then. Does Ontario still do the 3 months wait before we're eligible for health insurance?? If yes, please which province issues health insurance within a week??

2. I'm an accountant, Do the CPA exams from the scratch, or do a diploma or Masters that covers some or all of the CPA courses
I would be grateful if I can get clarification from a landed senior.

Thank you

Hello Flakeyy,

Congratulations on your PPR.

Many have responded to this already, however I wanted to quickly draw your attention to "safe time to fly" for pregnant women. Please note that the internationally recommended is 32 weeks. Although some airline - specific - may allow up till 35 weeks but must include a "fit to fly" from your GP or reliable hospital. Please put this in mind as you search for the airline also enquire about their options for pregnant women.

Secondly as regards the OHIP, yes you can get help right away when you land, in fact I will advise you to contact a midwife since that is most likely what you'll be using as a resident without Health Insurance Card - surely you dont want to pay when you can be on insurance. As such, start browsing the closest midwives association closest to your choice of residence.

Also do not forget the 14day quarantine period, meaning if you have to wait to 35 weeks before flying, you'll be almost due at 37weeks.

Kindly put the above 2 factors into consideration when deciding when to fly, I sincerely wish you haven't booked yet, because as you said, please do not consider birthing in Nigeria...please do not! My wife and I even got a placement early this year with 2 midwives and had interviews and zoom sessions already without landing yet or even PPR self only for our hopes to be dashed...well as you know corona and Ottawa change hand for us...baby is now 4months and we still dey naija..lol

See the link to the Ontario midwives page, use the search option to find the closest to your choice of destination /residence.

HERE

Lastly, although I no b Accountant o, but from what I know, seen, researched and heard, please do not go for M.Sc unless you want to consider it for the grant or if you'll get scholarship. The reason is that Canada is more concerned with what you can deliver not the paper you have. Indeed, many take the Masters route to get the right Network or connection, but do not consider it as an alternative to your Professional Certification. And, don't be surprised if your Line Manager or supervisor only hold a Diploma. Infact, soft skills they say, will take you further, remember most migrants in Canada are professional from their home country. But soft skills isn't learnt in schools in many foreign countries Nigeria inclusive.

PS: please, consider the airline's "fit to fly" options and the 14days quarantine requirements.

I sincerely hope this is helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

AyeeshaB:
Thanks for your detailed response. I am aware of all the attachments from IRCC, Ive read them. I just included the word statement for the sake of it. I mentioned "letter" first. Some people also had instances where their banks didn't give them the required letters.

Number 2 question was not pertaining to POF. It was in relation to proving work experience for a now defunct company. I wanted to show my salary inflow.

Thanks again.

Now, that's clearer.

For a defunct company, I doubt your salary inflow to your account would matter much, there are more specifics for meeting the criteria. In my case although not defunct, documents such as Employment letter (front page), Contract letter, Resignation letter, ID Card (front page) are things you can use rather, and then maybe just in case, you MUST, then the Salary inflow for the period (highlight it) which I still think will be cumbersome. Then, well-drafted duties that match your NOC on a plain paper, you can even notarize this letter to give you more peace of mind and sleep grin

Also, there is this thing people do, if you can reach out to the CEO/MD/Supervisor he can also draft out a letter for you affirming that although the company no longer exist, and that they had a good working relationship with you during the period your duties include; A, B and C. Then, go to LinkedIn and make them your connection (this works like charm). Most of your colleagues will clearly state that they work in the company from a period to another, if this matches for 2-3 profile, this might just be your golden bail out.

All the above, in addition to a well structured LOE explicitly stating why you cannot meet the criteria in the required format.

Things to note about Reference Letter is the 2 paramount things of interest, in fact, 3 is essential;
1. Evidence of Work being a close match/related to the NOC in your application.
2. Evidence of Work hours equivalent to Canada standard full-time work and duration (at least one year of continuous work - 3yrs max point)
3. Evidence that you were paid (which usually has lesser importance) because there are no restriction to how much you should be paid
grin
Then other less-vital details about the organization (if it can be verifiable etc, in your case this is not possible, but really is of lesser use, self).

I hope this is helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Hello guys,
If I buy Treasury Bills or do Fixed Deposit with my Proof of Funds few weeks before ITA, do I need to submit a bank statement too?

I would surely get a reference letter from the bank (for the T.bill / fixed deposit) but I want to know if it's necessary to include a 6 month statement.

To be very specific, You should add any document that would make your application easy to understand yet simple.

That being said, please do not forget that CASH IS KING, although many have used other forms to prove their POF i.e Fixed Deposit, Mutual Funds, Treasury Bills, etc, but above all if PEACE OF MIND is your thing, please just be stupid for once grin and allow the money to stay in the bank.

For better explanation, see my earlier post above, link HERE

AyeeshaB:
Hello all, I recently received ITA and I have a few questions.

1. Is it okay if the bank letter/ statement is up to 3 weeks old before the application submission date or what is a safe acceptable timeline? I do not know how long the bank would take to respond so I want to request now but I intend to submit my application around 12th-18th December. Please advise.

2. In a case where I want to include salary inflows into my account do I need the whole account statement for the duration or I can take a screenshot of the exact inflow days?

3. Do all the addresses on all my documents need to be the same (current address, PCC, bank statement/letter, Pension letter). I have not updated my addresses in some of my banks.

4. Is it okay after application to move money from where it was, I do not intend to spend it, I just want to Invest it while I wait for PPR because it has been lying in my dollar account for months with no interest. I ask because I know at entry they may ask for proof of funds, which I would have but probably might not be in the original account or it would show it was removed at some point and put back.

Thanks.

Hey AyeeshaB,

CAVEAT: I AM NOT A VO neither do I process applications for people, but like most people in this thread, I have applied for this, I want the best for everyone and surely, my application is in good stand. So, whatever is written below is an unbiased interpretation of what is on the IRCC's website alongside proven personal experience and knowledge from this forum.

I am particularly taking a keen interest in this question even if it has been answered multiple times before. This is because I delayed my "plugging" into the pool for almost 2 years searching for how to gather the POF, how to meet the requirement while ensuring that I abide by their rules (since 2017). Also, I feel it would be quite informative if I pour out all I know about it and the "general" confusion surrounding POF AND THE SIX MONTH SOA (Statement of Account).

I see the majority of your questions centers around POF, as such let's take a quick view of what qualifies in order to present an acceptable POF. (no sentiments attached)

So, I made a quick road trip to the IRCC's portal on the page with the sub-header "WHAT WE ACCEPT AS PROOF"; Link HERE. Image below.

In the image, I made some inkings with 4 Colours; - let me explain;
1. RED: What you cannot use - in your case, this has no effect, so we will skip it since you'll be using "Money in the Bank" (let's call it Cash). This by all means is the easiest form to prove because it is the sole form that meets their requirement 100%.

2. YELLOW: Borrowed Funds. Well, the only way the VO can prove that the money is not borrowed by you presenting ONLY A LETTER (This is what is requested) is by ensuring you have a history with the bank or financial institution, thus, the reason for the AVERAGE BALANCE FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS. Note: this will be low if you just recently dropped a lump sum or rarely use the account. - A red flag. Also 6months Average is not 6Months SOA, in fact, you're actually giving the VO work to do by converting your raw data (cash entries) into 6months Average. - Sorry, no yellow inking on Nairaland tongue

3. GREEN: Readily available cash for settlement aka "everyday spending". This is where "CASH IS KING" got its entitlement and the edge over every other means for POF. Remember - CASH IS KING. I am a witness to this.

4. BLUE: How to Prove your money. This, clearly stated with 5 bullets and 4 sub-points what is required to effectively prove you have the minimum required money needed for settlement in Canada.

Now that we know what and how to prove a POF, let's have a deep dive into your questions.

1. Is it okay if the bank letter/ statement is up to 3 weeks old before the application submission date or what is a safe acceptable timeline?
- Please let's assume you stick with what is requested - A LETTER - NOT STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT! In this case, if you have always had your money since forever in that account, you may just pull up a recent letter that meets those requirements in the bullet. Note, recent here is subjective, however, if you can get a letter of 3weeks old in their requested format, I doubt it will be an issue.
ANS: It is Okay. There is no "safe acceptable timeline" per the information on the IRCC page.
Mine: First POF - a week old, Second: 2 weeks plus.
- Never got ADR for Fund. - Never! (FYI: Submitted POF twice because of the new addition, although my first already covers for the new addition(new baby), I just prefer to make documentation easy for the VO - Choice)

2. In a case where I want to include salary inflows into my account do I need the whole account statement for the duration or I can take a screenshot of the exact inflow days?
No one really asked for SOA (Statement of Account). This is just a conception someone coined possibly to avoid unnecessary suspicion and probably to explain some certain inflows. Well, today it has gotten general acceptance - I blame no one.
ANS: There is absolutely no need to highlight or screenshot specifics. If you want to add SOA, it should be because you want to "sleep well or at least give yourself the benefit of doubt" that you were able to prove your POF or cover your tracks, grin as the case may be.
MINE: First - Only the official letter from Zenith Bank - Savings Account, Second - Only the official letter from Zenith Bank - Savings Account! grin No SOA whatsoever - Na! I don't buy that. I believe in the simplicity of my application.
Note: both letters at the 2 Instances met their bullets - I ensured I drafted it for the bank and had them give me in that format. - You can PM me if you want a copy - signed/stamp and on their Letterhead. - Never got ADR for Fund. - Never! (My application was confirmed approved in 3months, if not for Corona wey come pour sand inside my garri, and now baby come join grin I no go kill myself nah grin grin grin)

3. Do all the addresses on all my documents need to be the same (current address, PCC, bank statement/letter, Pension letter). I have not updated my addresses in some of my banks.
ANS: Hey, worry less! The majority of these documents do not even have your past, current, or future address lol. Seriously, don't worry about all these. There are days ahead where you'll pray to sleep only because of endless thoughts about your submitted application and the wait. Please don't start this way. No Nah. Please get your document and upload it.
PCC - Purple page - No address, Bank Letter - No address, RSA/PFA - No address. So, why the headache.

4. Is it okay after application to move money from where it was, I do not intend to spend it, I just want to Invest it while I wait for PPR because it has been lying in my dollar account for months with no interest.
ANS: Please do not make things complicated, in fact, try to make it simple for you, yourself, and everyone. What I would advise you is to put on a scale, the benefit of both decisions - That is, if you leave your money the way it is in the bank VS if you move it. Trust me, if you do the latter it throws a red flag should they mistakenly ask for Schedule 4A - ADR for POF (You've got only one shot away from straight rejection - surely, you don't want to be in this situation) or even if your application has been approved and you fly, how do you want to explain to any "overzealous" CBSA officer at your POE.
My advice is please leave the money there, after all, unless you plan to stay ONE YEAR after PPR before you travel, then you can invest after PPR, the ROI on most investment isn't that glorious, anyways! When you reach your apartment for obodo Canada, you can make it the first in your TODO list grin
MINE: Family of 4 yet, I allow the money to stay stupid there in the bank by now (11months) it would be close to another Million if invested in ordinary yeye 12% Mutual Funds self. But 1M isn't worth a rejection abeg, only IELTS self take almost 600K from me. Biko I cannot come and settle fight with VO wey no like to hear word.

Once again, I personally want to say the issue of POF is one that has hindered many, caused rejection, and has caused many headaches to plenty. Like all issues of Money, always remember the easier it is to explain the better it is to convince, anyone.

I hope this has been informative and helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Booqie:
Hi Guys,
I'm new here.
Can I pls get clarification on this:
Will it be possible to relocate with my nanny? She's 21 and I heard if I become her legal guardian then it will be possible but I haven't really seen any information supporting that online.
I'll appreciate detailed responses.
Thank you.

Oh, she is 21! Great and not so good. Secondly, Yes - "Legal Adoption" makes her eligible as a dependant.

To begin with, there is an age limit when it comes to classifying who a dependant is and who can be added as a dependant. For FSW/Express Entry, the age limit is 22 as at AOR! Note the deadline. - The child must not have celebrated 22nd birthday at the time of IRCC receiving your complete application. Click HERE. Unless if the child has a "mental or physical condition/disability".

Also, different states in Nigeria (if you're here) have a different age limit for Child Adoption and in many states, only "Juvenile" can be adopted - In some state Juvenile is at age 17 while for some 18. You'll need to speak with a lawyer within your state for certainty and how it applies to your case. Click HERE - They also have their contact on that article. While for child guardianship, the Nigerian law only permits children below 18years, and I doubt that will meet IRCC's qualification to categorize the child as a dependant.

I know at this point many doubts and thoughts may be running through your mind, but hey, don't lose hope, as a matter of fact, please try to push as hard and fast as you can.

Highlights;
i. You have just one year max from now to ensure you make that child bond and be part of your family for life.
ii. You can try other means that can make the process a lot possible - not necessarily saying you should adjust the difference (I truly hope you understand what I mean here, as it will change everything if done right). Just speak with a good lawyer and surely you both can find a way as regards the age and how the law can be used in your favor - Trust me, lawyers are the best maneuverers.
iii. You may also need the child both parents giving up their parental rights to the child - this can be difficult for many parents especially the learned ones.
iv. IRCC and your timelines - Understanding #2 very well will be very handy as time goes by.
v. FSW/PR is a process of patience originally, with adoption - You'll most certainly need an abundance of it.

In addition, see HERE my previous post for someone who wished to go this same route.

Ultimately, I wish you the very best, and please try to make that child's dream a reality - I believe you can. Also, this is another chance to rewrite someone's generation and give that child a ray of hope off this side of the world - The dark side.

In addition to what @Kekereekun123 advised, which is quite difficult and demanding based on the fact that you'll need to be there first coupled with other requirements, which I doubt is what you plan for, you can try the above. i.e the Adoption Route

I hope this is both helpful and inspiring. And, I'll like to thank you for reading.

Hi everyone.
What does it mean when they say the background verification, security background and criminal background are all valid in the reply of a CSE. Does that mean all documents are cleared?

@Alteco007, God don do am for you o!

I received the same email earlier, and may I tell you that I nearly checked every website on the internet just to clear my curiosity - And, sure you know, I got my desired response - YOU'RE ALL CLEARED, PPR/COPR IS PENDING DUE TO SOME OFFICES THAT ARE CLOSED OR OPERATING WITH LIMITED STAFF. I am sure you saw that clause, but you were too excited I guess to re-read that line. haha, It happened to me too, until I was officially informed. lol

Please hang in there, and let's join all others to pray for the swift send-off party for Corona - That guy is spoiling our show.

I remember someone asking if this was Ottawa VO, therefore I am using this moment to say a silent prayer for all those who are in other VOs. Please have hope guys, sure I understand what it feels like, although my waiting period was short, I can't express how frustrating it is to see each nightfall without knowing for sure what the next plan or thought will be.

Please see this as my own little message of inspiration to everyone (+me) in different stages - Just hang in there and someday, you'll walk that aisle as a PR. Please don't lose hope, and NEVER GIVE UP!

I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading.

Mamaroon:

grin I remember coco too...

Comgrats on the approval! Have you gotten any further updates on your application since Apr 30? Have you contacted IRCC again?

As in, I was too surprised to see the moniker again, but that's life, naija patriotism is not worth dying for jawe.

Thanks a lot, no I haven't heard from them, although I raised another CSE/Webform some days ago, they haven't gotten back on that. I am assuming the delay is due to the Festive period, and hopefully, they will respond once they return.

Also, just for the information in case you're in the same boat, there's this group on canadavisa where an Inland/CEC applicant actually called and he was informed they have started issuing PPR for inland(which truly started last week), and outland to begin June 3rd or so. But, just like any information on the internet, one needs to take it with a pinch of salt.

I am very hopeful and praying hard that the June 3rd story is true.

I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading.

cocococo:
Hello guys. A friend wants to start the EE process. She has a first degree with Uniben, and a post-graduate diploma (PgD) with National Open University (NOUN). I know the highest degree is what is most important. The question is this: if she uses WES to evaluate only the PgD she obtained from NOUN, will the WES report read equivalent of Two or more Certificates? Or must she evaluate both first degree and the PgD in order for WES report to read equivalent of Two or more Certificates?

@cocococo, I remember this moniker from way back of this thread, say part 3 or 4. You were the same person who tried to discourage everyone in the thread then. Well, I guess like all those who stood firm to say they had made up their mind, you also have found reasons to believe now. - WELCOME HOME Bro/Sis

Well, we all know the "a friend of mine", "my friend" style of asking question.

Let me bring you up to speed, and to answer your question with my own as an example.

Within that period and now, I actually took the advise from the thread then, and enrolled at NOUN for my MSc, got the Certificate in March of 2019, did the WES evaluation between June and September of last year, and as at a month ago, my application had been approved.

The answer is YES - WES recognizes Certificate from NOUN and the question of whether to evaluate both degrees, YES - you have to, and note that this is not because it is from NOUN, rather it is because it is counted as a diploma (1 year). - To claim 2 or More certificate, you need to submit the two certificates and have BOTH Evaluated. - PgD is a Diploma, thus you'll need to add the other Certificate/BSc to compliment and make it eligibile for the 2/more certificate, which is higher in point than BSc alone.

Below is the Hierarchy (Lowest>>Highest) for clarity/reference;
- Secondary School Certificate - Little Point
- Post Secondary School Certificate/Diploma Certificate (one/2 year program) - Small Point
- First Degree/Bachelors - Average Point
- 2 or more degrees (ND+HND, Bachelors+Professional Cert./ICAN/ACCA/PgD/CIMA/BCS etc) - High Point
- Masters/Professional Course (LLB with IQAS, MBBS etc) - Higher Point
- PhD - Highest

I hope this helps you to understand that life isn't just a flat surface and hope you have seen reasons why many of us who are here chose this path.

And lastly, I wish this inspire others out there to always give something new a try, if others dont believe in what you want - That shouldn't be a deterrent, rather it should spur you to greatness. - #StayPositive #BeHopeful

I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading.

Hey guys,

In my quest for peace of mind during the waiting period, I decided to get carried away with the thoughts of "WHAT IF". For those who are about to submit, trust me on this, you'll get infected with this thought - No doubt.

The "WHAT IF" sickness is so long and dull as to having your summer being on the Sahara desert. Well, during one of my "WHAT IF" mind game, I started to think of the possibilities of rejection and how to prepare for the trauma, in the event that it happens - Sad! I know you'ld say so. But if you're already post-AOR, I am a million sure you've been infected with this thought already, and should you be about to submit, welcome on board, you'll surely face the same - It's universal and for all I care, it's harmless.

While luxuriating in my endless sad thoughts, I stumbled on these reasons given below on why most applications get the infamous "rejection" and the beauty here is most important for those that are about to submit. Please ensure you look out properly for the below before your submission. It is better to have a late submission than to have a sorry application - Rejection! And to those who have submitted already, please note that you can always raise a CSE to rectify any inadequacy before the VO (Visa Officer) notices - In most cases, CSE is reliable and should get the job done.

I'll be here rooting for you all, my prayers and best wishes are just for YOU!

MOST COMMON REASONS WHY ANY APPLICATION CAN GET A REJECTION

So, below are the most common reasons why applications get rejected - This is taken from the Consolidated eAPR on myimmitracker website.

>>><<<
1.
My EE got refused due to there is no duties and responsibilities mentioned in the letter even though I provided paystubs, T4, NOA

2.
I declared having two Bachelor’s degree credentials as I earned One Degree n Three Diplomas. However, according to the educational credential equivalency assessment (ECA) issued by WES,I understand they have the equivalent of one Bachelor’s degree (four years) that is highest education degree. I mmigration Officer/s have recalculated my CRS points according to my actual level of education and my CRS score has fallen below that of the lowest-ranked candidate invited to apply in Round 53 of invitations.

3.
(I contacted CIC using webform on 10th April, telling them about my PCCs are in progress. Then i uploaded my PCCs on 20th April using webform) (application got cancelled on 28th stating not providing full PCCs which btw i uploaded through webform)

4.
The application was cancelled for being incomplete. We have provided a police certificate issued by the state police. It must be issued by the Brazilian Federal Police.

5.
The reason is stated as incomplete application. The Kazakhstan judicial organs were not able to provide a police certificate in time, therefore I have sent after applying in March an official letter confirming that we have requested this police certificate, via case specific entry. However, the letter explaining cancellation said that they cancelled because they did not see this confirmation letter and therefore think we haven't made enough letter.

6.
Uploaded only ECA and missed putting in the educational degree and they rejected instead of asking for the doc

7.
I lived in Chennai and Bangalore. The problem was I didn't get the PCC via the indian embassy but directly from the Chennai police. The PCC letter says they don't have any records of any criminal wrongdoing IN chennai.
So CIC got back saying that this letter doesn't cover bangalore, so the entire application is cancelled. the UAE PCC wasn't a problem

8.
The PCC I requested through the embassy was a certificate of good conduct ( same as the one delivered in the province I leaved) that is normally used interchangeable with the one delivered at the central office of Judiciary Police situated in the capital city ( Kinshasa) that issues an extract of the criminal record. Both are PCCs . The only difference is that the latter is only issued for immigration purposes and the first one for administrative purposes. I was not aware of the difference and neither is the officer at the embassy. It is only after the rejection letter in which IRCC pointed me to the correct competent office and the correct document that would be acceptable to them.

9.
my application was rejected and cancelled by CIC for uploading my son's birth certificate in the place of his travel document

10.
I live in the USA, and my FBI was couple of days over 6 months when I submitted the application.

11.
REFUSED DUE TO BLACK & WHITE PCC/Cased was cancel due to not providing Original Iranian PCC. I just provide certified true copy due to error.

12.
Got my application Denied because of a missing PCC. I thought we had to submit a PCC from places we lived in after the person completed 18 years old or from the past 10 years. I lived in Abu Dabi 13 years ago. I did not provided a PCC.

13.
My spouse has a PhD, and this one was written in Latin (it's a old university and they like to used the Latin language) so he requested to have one in English, and he had it. It was the same as the Latin one but just on the top : translated from the English. So when we submitted our case we just uploaded the English one and not the Latin one. That's explain the failure even if we had an EDE

14.
PCC Does not cover entire period of stay in india. That,s the reason they provided. Actually, I got PCC from SSP chandigarh and it mentioned my period of stay at current address. So, maybe thats why.

15.
The Police certificate from Pakistan that you provided with your application is not acceptable as it does not cover the full period of time spent in Pakistan during your first period of residence there. You have indicated in your address/personal history that you resided in Pakistan from November 5, 1987 to June 12, 2008. The police certificate that you provided covers the period from Birth to May 2008.

16.
Reason for refusal is missing police report for 7 months in France

17.
Refused - police certificate not translated

18.
Refused because PCC from Kazakhstan was in electronic form. Paper documents were sent to CIC a week ago, but were not considered.

19.
IMM5562 requested Refused because if you add all my trips in ten years it's more than 6 months and I need a police certificate from USA

20.
During the past 10 years i visited USA several times, the total durations of these visits exceeded 6 months. So i should have added PCC for the US although the six months were not continuous!!

21.
My application was deemed incomplete as my police check was 6 months and 3 days old when I submitted my application. The cut off is 6 months for police checks. The delay in submitting was caused by work references coming through late.

22.
Application was refused as incomplete for lacking of US PCC. I have an MBA from an american university which was taught in Brazil. I selected US in country of education since the university is not a legal entity in Brazil. I don't know if that was the mistake (should have put Brazil) or I should have indicated something like "distance learning".

23.
They had pcc from police which only covers city from where it's applied. "Hi just got an update that my application is rejected becoz of my spouse PCC given only for last 15 years not from his entire duration of stay in India."

24.
Sent Brazilian state PCC instead of federal PCC

25.
Rejected because 1 police cert was missing in the combined PDF

Wow! Congrats in advance. I don't even want to think it's otherwise. Abeg, start parking. May the New land favour you.
I call you blessed! All the best!!

Kaygirl33:

Congratulations dear. You're indeed favoured. To God be the glory.

JUST TO SAY THANK YOU

I want to thank you all for your kinds words of support, congratulations and the "Likes".

I am still waiting for the Golden Mail, and as I have promised, I will surely give a lenghty and detailed write-up for the Testimony soon as the Eagle lands.

Also, just to spice things up, the next day after the first CSE, I raised another asking specifically for the current stages in my application and the below was the response;

Your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,

The background verifications are currently valid.
The security background verification is currently valid.
The criminal background verification is currently valid.

· Your application is currently being processed at the Case Processing Centre (CPC-O) in Ottawa, Ontario.

I read that once you have all "Valid" (as above) - Then, this is a strong indication that you've been cleared and Review completed - PPR next.

I will be posting some useful tips for post-AOR and I hope this help those in the pool and others in the future.

How to know your Visa Office (VO) post AOR - Raise a CSE/Webform.
1) Fill in all your application details
2) Ask/Tell them specifically what you would like to know in clear terms e.g which visa office is processing your application, application status, specific details (Eligibilty, Background check, Security etc.) or to update them on something new concerning your application (birth, job, location etc)
3) They will usually respond within a week.
4) Use the link below

https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

And, to those who are yet/about to submit, please make your application correct and concise - That is, keep it simple but complete.

So, once again bro and sis, thank you.

I hope this is helpful. And, I'll like to thank you for reading.

Ope27:
Good day all, kind share your opinion on below.
What would be your advise to this scenario
Family of five... PPR in ✋
Who have 70% of their POF at hand (cash) aside flight cost planning to land immediately..
Or delay landing for another five months to get 100% POF

This will be long, but try to read through;

Dear OP,

Please permit me to add my input despite not landed yet.

But, the way the question dey bite me for bodi no gree me stay one place.

Ok, now the logic/reasoning for this response.

Let's do a small calculation based on the information you gave;

KNOWN FACT
i. Family of 5 = 3Kids + 2 Adults
ii. POF for Family of 5 = N7.5Million approx. as at today
iii. 70% of N7.5Million/POF4family of 5 = 5.3Million approx.
iv. N5.3Million = CAD 19,400 Approx.
v. No Extra charges/shingbain for flight/arrival, until first spending/buying in Canada
vi. The Money at hand for settlement in Canada= CAD 19,400
vii. At least, you need 5 Extra months to get N2.4Million

SEMI-KNOWN FACTS/ASSUMPTION;
a. At least one parent is a working-class (i.e Principal Applicant) - This is a source of income making upon arrival
b. One of the parents can/will stay at home to look after the kid/s if with a toddler - No need for daycare cost.
c. At least, one of the parents is not in a regulated profession
d. At least, you have research your preferred destination and likelihood of finding a job.
e. At least, one parent is ready to take up a probably less satisfying job to make the family survive.
f. If you stay behind, in the next 5 months you're likely to pay house rent, car/everyday maintenance, school fees, and other related living expenses to the tone of N1Million = CAD 3,700.
g. The chances of even having the exact 30% remaining POF at that time/5Months is a probability since nothing can be 100% guaranteed - Extended/Family bills happen.
h. Based on research and information from family and friends in Toronto/expensive place - as an example, for a typical migrant family (with Naija sense/determined to make it) it is estimated between CAD 2.5-4.5K including house rent (1.2-1.5K) - Condo/Basement, per month.
j. CAD 19.4K without any addition will take you at least 3-5months in Canada with spending caution and discipline. - This is enough time to get your feet on the ground and working/jobbing.

OPINION BASED ON THE KNOWN AND THE UNKNOWN; - Let's start from the known to the UNKNOWN
1. If asking for POF at POE is the main cause for wanting to wait, you may have to fly immediately, since from stories here only about 2% has said anything relating to an Officer asking for POF at Port of Entry, and the most recent said s/he was even given a go-ahead before tendering the evidence. - So you may just remove the fear of the unknown and take your leap.

2. If you wait for the next 5months in Nigeria your estimated expenses are like CAD 4,000, in essence, which will conveniently cover at least your one month living in Canada instead of staying behind.

3. You may make your chances even a lot fancier by ensuring you start applying for Jobs now while still in Naija - both parents.

4. Do not overbuy anything, rather budget everything, know your means, and be ready to live by it.

5. Will your CAD 19.4K be enough till you get something to support your family. Honestly, this is unpredictable, as I have seen/read about people who got a job, really good jobs in days/weeks of landing. And, in some fashion I have read of those who stayed up to 3-6Months till they got something to hold on to. But, believe it, even in those odd situations the ones without jobs still had some non-white collar jobs they used for survival - comon! you cannot predict the future, you only have to make the effort and watch out for the desired outcome.

BOTTOM LINE
Q: Should you make your move immediately?
A: After much deliberation with your spouse based on the division of roles and possibility of earning an income for the family and then, have the determination to make sure you survive - You definitely are ready to FLY!

Q: Can you live with your current 70% POF?
A: Definitely YES! - Larger families have taken that route and are obviously doing great now.

Q: Would you still spend eventually after waiting out the 5 months?
A: That is a no brainer! and by all means, you are more likely to even spend with profligacy.

Q: What are your options?
A: To be blunt, I would say you don't have any other than to take your bags, family and take the next flight to YYZ/Pearson Int'l Airport.

Q: Would you be fine?
A: Only time can tell, however, why don't you find that out yourself.

Q: Any caution if you decide not to fly immediately or soonest?
A: Obviously! You should at least look out for your Medical Date/expiry as it is only valid for 1 year from date of visit to the hospital for the test. Well, I don't know if that still matters before/after landing sha.

Q: Any other information?
A: YES!, please stay away from unnecessary spending and pray for good health for your entire family upon landing.

Q: Are there tips?
A: * Your job from the moment you land is to look for job - Attend job fairs, get information from fellow migrants, join a religious group*-with caution, join communities of similar minds, grow your LinkedIn connections, Be proactive on LinkedIn, Search-Search-and-Search for just JOBS - Other things will follow soon after.
A: * Try to stay off the NOT MANDATORY buys - i.e only go for MUST BUY e.g SIM/Phone, furniture can come later.
A: * Both parents should try to work if both are in high-demand jobs as this will help to pay for daycare if you have a toddler as well give the other parent the holy grail "CANADIAN EXPERIENCE" as well.
A: Also consider shifting jobs, so that a parent can work during the day while the other at night - this saves the cost of a daycare or the need for a nanny to stay with your children - if none is above 12 (my recommendation)
A: * Try to get good health insurance just in case a family member needs aid
A: * Try to look for cheaper airline/fair so as to cut down costs as much as possible if you haven't booked.
A: * Don't choose convenience over "the necessities" for now - KNOW THE DIFFERENCE
A: * Try to do some side/extra jobs even after getting the main one - Lookout for a shift, weekends, and none-white collar jobs as a side hustle.

ON THE LIGHTER MODE:
Abeg check for the weather first before you board o, so as to make sure you prepare your mind, spirit, soul, and body for the Temperature onboarding process when you land.

Congratulations on your PPR.

Abeg me need your prayers oo...God's speed/grace I pray.

Go and prospers @ope27, and I wish you the best of Luck...see you in Canada!

I hope this is helpful, and I'll like to thank you for reading.

Hello my fellow Canadians

Out of my ignorance during the Wes application, I paid extra 85$ for courier service( with tracking).

What effect will this have on my application? Thanks

Q: What effect will this have on my application?
A: The Extra effect grin
REASON: Don't expect it to be faster than the normal no! Just that the completed Evaluation Hardcopy will be sent via courier service with a tracking option and, not via regular post. Period.

Q: When to expect the delivery
A: 3-5 working days, usually. After completion

Q: Are there other benefits aside from the faster hardcopy delivery timeline?
A: NO! To the best of my knowledge

Q: Will this make my processing faster?
