Salary was okay initially but inflation took its tow on it.
Also, poor management ocassion by low student enrollment stunted the growth of the school making it difficult for salaries to be increased.
I have decided to go and ply my trade elsewhere, though.

I've been teaching in a private school for years now and it nothing to write home about concerning the pay and the staff being treated like a slave.
During the time of teaching I gathered money to continue my education at NOUN (National Open University of Nigeria) and graduated last year and since then I've been looking for another opportunity to leave the teaching line and I can't quit the one I'm currently doing since I haven't gotten another one and the work is getting worst day by day.
I'm currently searching and looking for a better opportunity and along the line I just bought a Laptop Lenovo Core i5 and looking for anyone that can be my mentor and teach me any tech skills and I'm willing to it.
My course of study is Information Technology (IT).
I'm a family with a wife and kids, it has not been easy with Nigeria economy.

Your story resonate with most private school teachers. I have put in a gruelling 13 years in teaching at a private school and it has been 13years of working like an Elephant and eating like a ant. By God's grace we will prevail and our bitter experience will become a story of victory. Keep pushing!

This is the sad reality that we are faced with as private school teachers in Nigeria. I have been teaching for 13 years now and not a dime has been added to my meager salary since I started teaching in the school. Worse still, the take home salary is so pathetic and shameful.
