Webmasters / Re: Advice Needed On Normalizing A Database Table by webguru(m): 12:43pm On Jul 19, 2012
I think you were ambigous. U need several tables for this. A table shld rep an entity eg comments, likes, posts etc. Then join on ids. Use innodb and foreign keys if u can, so dat data remains fresh/avoid redundancy

Events / Meet The E Payment Players At The Biggest Card & ATM Expo (CBN Endorsed) by webguru(m): 6:27pm On May 22, 2012
Hello Guys,

I would love you to invite you to attend the 12th edition of the Card, ATM and Mobile Expo 2012, holding at the Civic Centre Lagos from June 12-14, 2012.
Recently, the CBN has issued circulars to help reduce the amount of physical cash circulating in the country. The Automated Teller Machines and debit cards are the ones most Africans are familiar with. There are other modes such as internet banking, mobile banking. Not surprisingly, a large percentage of Africans either do not know that such other forms of payment methods exist, or they do not know how to make use of them.

This is what this expo is all about:-
- Creating awareness on the different methods of cashless payments,
- Their usefulness in various situations, and
- How to use them.

This event is not only educative, as there will be seminars and open workshops, adequate refreshments, but with lots of fun , as souvenirs will be given out, awesome prizes will be won at the raffle draws and on the last day is a VIP Cocktail boat cruise and Gala nite for networking with the players in the industry.
To make this possible, FREE buses are being provided to convey visitors to and from the venue (Bus Schedules at the bottom of the Page).

The Event: CARD, ATM & MOBILE EXPO AFRICA 2012
The Date: 12th - 14th of June, 2012.
The Venue: Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

This event is open to all who would not like to be left out of the train of innovative cashless solutions.
Please register at http://www.cardexpo.eventbrite.com/ or like the Facebook page http:///nl-cardexpo so as to get reminders as the event draws near.

We look forward to seeing you.

Why not try offering a delivery service to Nigeria?

Offering Travel advice or Schools and Visa advice to people in Nigeria?

You know our people like the "Overseas" pasture.

Many don't know how to go about it.

You can help people who want to school over there, find out the best and cheapest schools. Cheapest accomodations.

Get accommodations, very cheap, or accommodate people coming from nigeria for a while.

Have everything documented though.

You know our people like parties, you could organise and bring artistes from Naija over there...

If your hubby can stay with the kids, then you can work weekends, just explain to them.

Life is in phases dear, trust me, it'll get better.

Hope you have given your life and attend church.

It will help you have the peace of mind you require.

God Bless You
Business / Nairalanders Special Invite To 12th Card, Atm & Mobile Expo (endorsed By Cbn) by webguru(m): 1:07pm On May 22, 2012
To all those who prefer to hide money under the carpet, inside their mattresses, or even in holes in the ground, THIS IS NOT FOR YOU (PLEASE DO NOT READ) grin

Presenting the 12th edition of the CARD, ATM & MOBILE EXPO AFRICA 2012 (the biggest of its kind in Africa), taking place from the 12th to the 14th of June, at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The world as we know it is becoming a global village. You can be in your house, in some remote village in Maiduguri, and get goods sent directly to you from anywhere in the world, just at the click of a button.

The ATM and ATM card were the pioneers of these modes of payments which are part of the ongoing CASHLESS trend.
Recently, the CBN has issued circulars to help reduce the amount of physical cash circulating in the country. The Automated Teller Machines and debit cards are the ones most Africans are familiar with. There are other modes such as internet banking, mobile banking. Politics / Can Fashola Win? What If He Loses? by webguru(m): 12:03pm On Apr 19, 2011
The last elections were a wake up call for the ACN in Lagos state. And with everyone saying they dont want Tinubu
to control Lagos, would people vote for PDP?

I think we should vote Fashola but not give the ACN the house of assembly.

What do you guys think?

Webmasters / Nigeria's First Web Conference Hold January 2010: And It Depends On You! by webguru(m): 12:54pm On Nov 24, 2009
Hello guys,

I really wanted we, members of the web tech community in Nigeria/Lagos to have a meetup this december, nothing elaborate but due to the timing im thinking we should have it in January 2010.

However, there's a catch: you have to show a willingness to participate and attend and of course it will be free, but for those who will
be working underground, they'll need to know people will be attending the event.

So please suggest a name you'd prefer for this meetup, things to be included (i'll love to see us bld a web app right there),
hashtag to be used, preferred locations in Lagos, and generally your thoughts on this.

Thank you.

Abisagbo Segun (www.twitter.com/segebee)

PS: Seun/Moderator, can u make this a sticky topic?
