CareerRe: For Those Earning Over ₦1,000,000 Monthly, What Do You Do To Secure Such Income? by webizone(m): 1:00pm On Jan 20, 2025
Sapeleboy911:
Don't doubt there are people earning over 1m here. Even with Astropay's shitty exchange rate of $1475 - $1, A million naira is just around $678. For me, I earn mine from social media accounts selling and smart sports betting. I've seen people (although not Nigerians) making over $40k yearly just from selling social media accounts or doing smart betting. The major setback is that you are at the mercy of the greedy bookmakers, and rogue social media managements. I can make over 2m in 30 days, with a single 1xbet account, but will 1xbet allow me? The answer remains NO
But why 1xbet? Couldn't it be done with other bookies?

Second question, I don't know if deriv (binary options broker) do the same shenanigans when one gets really good. Do you know about that?

DancingDagger:
After having sharia it will become den of terrorists …. In the first place Why should you be concerned about sharia law out of all the things we lack in this country….im not quite disappointed because the fulani kids that were a result of intermarriage between the yoruba and the Fulani people are adult now and some of them aren’t properly educated apart from the Islamic education that’s mostly the foundation of their first knowledge. It’s better to kill this ideology before it becomes a cancer. We have magistrate courts everywhere we have nationally recognized court yet you want sharia. We as a people should have by now design our own justice system that reflects the yarning of the actual African child. Instead we love our colonizers so much we want to fashion our life in accordance with theirs …we want our court look like theirs . . I smell a rat …. If you also think about the lekki mosque banner. The only religion that won’t take bullshit yet would be the one to sink you in a bullshit. Most of the Islamic countries are in shambles at the moment and their citizens scouting in other countries. Still some of them still call for establishment of sharia law in a country that gave them shelter and good life . Just about 2 days ago a medical doctor in Germany and a Saudi Arabian citizen ..Taleb Al Abdulmohsen, a 50 years old man killed about 5 people and injured about 200 people by ramming a car into a Christmas market in Germany. Southwest is not a ground for religion extremism.
Wow!
If you are full-blooded Yoruba, I must commend you. Why? Because, it's not easy to have such clarity amidst kin who are in herd mode.
It seems you live far away.

I understand, for me I like dealing with technical issues more than human beings. So I leave the politics of it all to you.
In that case, let me rephrase technically. Help us get a system that takes us out of Nepa entirely. One that totally eliminates the 3 hours thing.
PoliticsRe: “Please NEPA Remove My Family From Band A” — Anambra Man Cries Out(vid) by webizone(m): 11:53am On Oct 02, 2024
GerogeI:
If you are in band A,
To reduce your bill, and turn the 24 hours into advantage,
1. Put your refrigerator on half duty cycle, it should be off at night. You either use a timer switch (cost about 10k on Jumia) or you switch it off and on manually - labour intensive. Any night you forget is about 2 kwh or credit units or about N500.

2. Invest in grid tied Solar system. This takes advantage of the 20 hours power availability. You do not need to buy batteries, but you need a good Hybrid solar inverter with grid connection. For every 4 used solar panels, you will produce 1kwh of electricity daily. The more you have the more you produce. As a rule of thumb, each 300w solar panel will give you an average of 50w for 5 hours or 250wh or 0.25kwh.

A normal house with lighting TV and refrigerator, without Air conditioner consumes about 6 kwh daily. Putting your refrigerator on day cycle will reduce 1.5 kwh or credit units leaving 4.5. Adding 5 solar panels, will reduce it to 3.5 kwh. Adding 10 Solar panels will reduce it to 2.5 kW hour. Because you must use lighting and fan at night, you cannot go lower than 2.5 kwh daily without investing in Storage batteries which are the costliest part of solar with 2 or 3 years short life span.

At 2.5 kwh per day your electricity bill for band A will be 2.5 x30 days x N230= N18000 approx. Not bad for 24 hours light.
Lol. Nigerians and adjusting. Nobody can adjust like Nigerians. That's why, all around the world, they are the most resourceful.

But sha, while you adjust, all the "government" needs is to then keep increasing the tariff so that even the 3 hours will fetch them the money they want. That's how it goes.

We better find a way to organize and eliminate the power they have on the masses.

Meanwhile, there a lot of people who can't afford to adjust.

I support demolitions o. Personally, I'm quite ok to live village life without electricity as long as the village is clean, people affable, and there's fresh food. I was quite okay living in city Nigeria with the chaos. I'm at heart a futurist but am quite ok with a developing Nigeria. But this isn't the case with majority of Nigerianjs. Nigerians won't stop shouting about electricity, and housing, and hospitals, and clean roads , and how Nigeria isn't like Abroad. I couldn't even be with Nigerians without them whining about underdevelopment, cussing our ancestors, bellyaching bitterly to the gods for making them Nigerians. They will complain for living in - according to them - this Shithole instead of wonderful Abroad. You cant go on social media and be happy because some Nigerian will be there cussing Nigeria, abusing our forefathers and bitterly hating everything and everyone. They will not overlook any way or anything that can be used to mock Nigeria. Good news will be sneered at. Bad news would be made to seem it can only happen in Nigeria. We became Zoogerians. No country anywhere in the world is allowed to be worst than Nigeria. All because of Nigeria not being like Abroad.

Well, the state governors want to provide abroad for Nigerians, beginning with trying to order Nigeria towns and cities, by ploughing down Shanty settlements, sharks, unplanned structures and buildings. Tax is yet to be introduced meaningfully yet people want sympathy.

No one is fighting tooth and nail as you suggest. The problem here is that you people can't stand any criticism on tinubu after all he is the president. So now a very serious issue has arise and you expect the Igbos to join when you are the one always defending the president. If you can't stand the criticism why are you now trying to protest. Just think what would happen if Igbos try to join the protest we not stupid, that is why I would like you guys to reassure the Igbos you won't use this protest against them when it's over. We understand how this country works and let me tell you if any Igbo person join this protest they are on there own.

Look no one is forcing you to vote obi it's a matter of choice so you saying we are harassing you sounds delusional cos we saw what happened in Lagos during election. Freedom of speech is not harassment and if you want to go ahead and fight the Igbos this country will never get better because we can never do anything together
Instead of coming out to protest, the people of Nigeria should sit at home. I believe it is even more effective. Why? For these reasons:

1. If people come out, the government "dogs" will be ready to kill them, but let everyone drop their tools and have a good time with their families, government will lose.

2. That will be a good show of solidarity with the igbos who are already sitting at home. It can mean that everyone is staying home for different reasons. That will inform the government to solve everyone's problem. If government becomes selective, it will be clear.

3. Staying at home will prevent those who are waiting to hijack the protest to commit crimes like arson, burgling, murder, etc.

Unless those who are organizing the protest have other motives they don't want to tell us about, this idea is a no-brainer.

Kenya is a very porous place. That was where the PKK leader was arrested by Turkish agents.

From government to private buildings, it's just chaos.

The modernist architecture of some of the high rises and bus terminals in Lagos are a ray of sunshine.
But it's so miniscule and there's even less variation. Neoclassical architecture like the building you referenced are unicorns.

Why doesn't the government allow more private investors to set up refineries? We have many small-scale refineries costing between $30-50 million. Even if we don't export, they could meet local demand.

It could boost crude oil production if we license one in every state. We have fewer working refineries compared to crude oil production, unlike countries like Singapore, which don't produce oil but export refined products, contributing to 5-15% of their GDP.

Why not issue more refining licenses? Give one to each region, even the poorer northern states. This could create revenue and jobs locally.

Every region should have a refinery license to produce something valuable for the whole country. Instead of giving oil licenses to individuals, why not invest in the whole state's economy?

It's not fair to ask a whole state to farm when oil can bring in more revenue. Let's share the wealth more equitably and develop our nation together.
You are still missing the mark. All states can't go into the oil business. That's like putting all the eggs in one basket. Not to mention the logistics of it all. It will only take one price hit on the open market to unravel. Every region in Nigeria can produce an industry that will rival oil production, fact.

What you should be saying is let government create an education endowment fund that is being funded by different industries Nigeria could develop. This fund and the institution that oversees it will be responsible in training the citizens in specializations that enable further wealth creation.
As a bonus, government will provide stipends as a form of welfare until people can stand on their own.

"Women naturally crave for power, that they will abuse"

Truer words have never been spoken.

Women crave power so much more than men. I think it's because they know they are very weak, and that knowledge brings about the feelings of insecurity.
Men feel more secure about themselves because they know they have the innate power to build or destroy.
However, women abuse power more because they are more emotionally driven than men. And it makes them feel so good when they scratch any emotional itch they may have.

If the women are also sent to war, who will take care of the children?. Women are willing to fight for their country, but they need to stay behind and take care of the future leaders(children).
Yes, I was waiting for this comment. I have thought about this too.

The fact is, it's not every woman in Ukraine that has a child. They are many young, single and childless women there.

Besides, if they are left alone and all their men die, these would get picked by men of other nationalities, thereby producing children without pure Ukrainian blood.

So, I say, men and women with children should be allowed to go and raise their families, while others can stay and fight.
