Properties / Re: Oba Lateef Atanda Adams To Seize 300 Houses In Surulere, Lagos by webizone(m): 12:55am On Apr 09, 2023
IbeOkehie:
Lack of stable property rights is a big problem in Nigeria. This is something I talk about a lot when I find myself discussing Nigeria issues. By law, when you take it to the basic law, NOBODY owns land in Nigeria, it's all property of the Government. I can count a dozen people I know whose lands and houses in Nigeria have been taken by government or credibly disputed.

The funny thing is how almost no one cares about the issue including victims. It's really strange, even a friend who is currently suffering this issue in Port Harcourt says it's no big deal. I don't get it

The distress in Nigerian Government finances means a lot of this sort of thing will be happening in the near future.

If you work hard to buy or accumulate wealth and that wealth can be easily threatened or taken at any time, the tendency is for people to stop working hard or investing in ways that produce wealth. This is one of the major reasons Nigeria is very poor. The country has a socialist culture.

I hope there will be reforms in law and mindset so that cases like this become bitter memories of the past.

Why do you think Nigerian politicians are buying more properties outside the country?
Honestly, I think I would advise most especially the Igbos to buy properties in saner climes, build living property back home and rent in places like Lagos.

The biggest reason why Nigerians don't own the land is because they are not represented in the constitution. Otherwise, if Nigerians were defined, then it goes a long way to give the people power over the land. As it stands, the state government is the most prominent owner of lands in Nigeria which, the Federal government under Buhari wants to steal from by moving for the waterways bill.

What is actually happening in Nigeria and in some northern states? I am surprised to read this because I know brothel flourish in southern Nigeria. Never knew this also occur among the Muslim folks. Chai. You see, the bad governance and deteriorating state of affairs is deep among the whole Nigerians. The poor girls there no longer care about their future. Government should quickly do something about this.

You are still waiting for government.

- Nigerians are some of the smartest and equally most evil person you could meet around the world...one minute you can meet someone who has built great businesses abroad (from scratch) and the next minute meet someone who will willingly defraud someone out of their life saving (to the point that they will commit suicide) in a heartbeat!
- Nigerians can LITERALLY be found in every country of the globe.
- many inexperienced people really do believe that the minute you go abroad, you will start making millions miraculously.
- so many people do believe there are more life/work opportunities in the US/UK/Canada for Nigerians, but i beg to differ....
- although some are ready to kill to leave Nigeria, some are equally ready to kill to go back to Nigeria on holiday pretending they have made it in the west
- people today still go back to the village in Nigeria to find a wife to bring to the west, thinking that this woman ISNT GONNA CHANGE INTO A WESTERN WOMAN (the minute she reaches the west), lol! if you want a village woman, then keep that woman in the village o.
- some people have bought houses etc in the west by cleaning dishes and toilets. not all these menial jobs are as bad as people thing...

Thread is closed. He has said it all.

Billions of dollars will be lost
I swear this will not pay anyone
& I'm very sure the Hausas will never support igbos cos they know how much a trouble that tribe is
An average Yoruba man will not loose Soo much cos he'd rather invest in education, and get gainfully employed in the corporate sector but U see all those small Igbo business owners and even the big ones won't like the outcome o

Since you said that if they do, they will lose, while you can see that if they don't, they are losing, I think it's better that they do.

Lol, money brings out the best and the worst in people. Somehow, even non-gamblers tend to gamble in a different form. Like funding new TV shows like competitions that may not make you back the money, or fund a political campaign.
Some who don't gamble at all, may go into using the money to do really bad stuff like funding underground torture rings.
You won't know yourself until you get big. And a big man must find fun, because routine will be very boring.

Yet, in Lagos, during the presidential election, Igbos or anyone not supporting APC were not allowed to vote in certain areas. You like sounding foolish all the time, I just don't know why. How can participating in a local election, if at all that happened, a threat? If the candidate is not liked, won't the people not vote for other candidates of their choice?

It was ipob that tried to burn down Lagos during Endsars

Nobody burns their own Town Market just like nobody burns down their Fathers house

Whether the shops belongs to Yorubas or non Yorubas is irrelevant

The good thing about people who lie, is that generations coming after them will be affected in their lives, and it will take them years if not centuries to find the truth and get back on their feet.
Exactly why Africans are just now discovering how great they were before the Europeans came and are now trying to get back their lost glory.
There's a lot of good things the Igbo have to offer and I know that your children and children's children will miss out on it because you will tell them lies and make them think that Igbos are their enemy.

Simon ekpa, is a house member in a working country, but he is over there deceiving you guys to cripple your economy just the way MNK did that went about wearing Gucci and blings

But you are talking as if burning markets where people do their business is not crippling their economy. At this time people can't access their money. If you really care about the Igbos, and you are the caring type in Yoruba, come out! Protest against what is happening to your so called "Igbo brothers and sisters".
