You were making sense but as soon as you mentioned we should start using home based players, you lost all credibility. You know nothing about football. Joker! Have you seen the rubbish they play in the local league? It amazes me that after all these years, even with how far foreign based players have brought Nigeria in football, some people still want to take us back. When you watch European football, e no dey sweet to see Nigerians competing at the highest level? I'm pretty sure when in your personal life, you try to advance your career by getting certifications and trying to get better in your profession. Then why do you suggest that when it comes to soccer, we should overlook our best professionals and settle for mediocrity all in the name of playing "our own"? It's people like you that are enemies of Nigeria's progress!

Well sha d guy wey you quote still get some merit. I don't know how old you are but I was old enough to see our local league boys under Christian Chukwu coaching go to Benin to flog them 6-0 half field. Then, our boys playing in lower European leagues going to France and beating them 1-0 for their home.
The problem is we don't use them at all. Some gaping positions can be sorted with some of them.

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

The fact that MC Oluomo hasn't been taken for interrogations is still baffling. This guy threatened igbos before the election day, and he made good progress his threats. Yet, he hasn't been called for questioning.

But a young guy will post against a governor or wife on Twitter and DSS will storm his room and "abduct" him in the twinkling of an eye.

Nigeria is becoming one big comedic show.

You still think it's comedic when na tragedy dey happen so?

The way people are going about this Lagos thing tho. If other states enjoyed the monopoly Lagos enjoys from the FG, I don't think all this Dubai glory would be given to Lagos. It's just so sad some have shown to be very tribalistic than the others.

To think it’s not even America being spoken about baffles me. Abi another Lagos dey we country wey I no know?

I never knew APC were some people's choice until this election. All those crying about APC and Buhari all these years were staged. Wow.

I guess, everyone now knows their devils.

APC, PDP, and LP are all noise and promises now but none of them will work!

This tribalism exists in every PUs, every LGAs, and every state tho! If I wan contest in a place I have not really done any evil, they’ll remind me my grandfather no bi their tribal man. I mean this is what my opponents will plant in the hearts of the vulnerable. Opponent who are proven never do wells. Lol. But all their tribal men ruling haven’t done any good. If na like that Obama wouldn’t have become US president. Africa is backward.

Told you guys man’s government was a failure but some taunted me. Now evidence reveals itself everyday.

That thing dey vex me! There's one yoruba mama that I know that will always be complaining of government and keep a sad face. When people go dey cry, she go dey follow dey cry.
Ok now, after this presidential election, I asked her who she voted for. She still said it is for APC. Omo, the thing con tire me. I just wished her luck and said I won't be angry because she has been good to me and I meant it.

The problem is just mental.

Typical Igbo man character.. Twisting narratives and playing hypocritical victim. Acting as if they didn't started the Lagos isn't No Man's land bullshiiit..

You guys have been voting for PDP for more than 20years. Did yoruba in the East ever drag una local politics with you? Have they ever called Anambra a No Man’s land?

If Yoruba in the East dare calls Anambra a no man’s land, I’m sure you know Igbos would perish them!

Before you talk, always make a research. I as an Igbo person never heard about this "no man's land" thing from people around me growing up. Believe it or not, the first time I heard it was around 2019 and it was from a yoruba complaining about it. Yet here's an Oba that said it. My own be say, Igbos only vote to fight bad governance as far as they live anywhere. Your land, your land will not change bad leadership.

You people and peddling lies...who is blocking you from having ports?

For your infoo, there is no kobo of federal govt in the new lekki port and the upcoming badagry port...It is strictly lagos state govt and private investors. The new Epe international airport also has no kobo of FGN money...Go and verify

If you keep elevating and voting clueless governors whowill rather save cash than build ports while investing state funds in private breweries, then dont blame others who are voting competence and reapin the results, and dont blame them for resisting your attempt to take them back to stone age

As for embassies, they will go to where they feel safe. Tell your violent gangs to stop the aggression and watch things happen

I don't need to tell you that Lagos already got a jump from being a former capital at a time Nigeria was experiencing a very big boom to its economy. The effects of that time with government policies that continued has enabled Lagos to be able to be very financially viable, because, the want for opportunities has made the state to grow in critical population mass that can enable it generate positive IGR.

And I don't need to tell you of the cases of when development issues have been brought to the Senate that was shut down.

The South East remains the one zone that haven't had a single forward federal project since Independence.

Having said that, I concede that our state governors are to blame for a lot of poor development decisions. But, that's what we are changing in real time.

You people don't seem to understand it.

When a bully is bullying you, they don't care if you are on your right or not, they bully you because they feel like they have the power to, and there is nothing you can do.

That's the case here.

What the Yorubas care about is there interest, they don't care about us.

It's better for Igbos to unite and pursue a goal at all cost, if it's developing the east, fine.

I understand you loud and clear. As for the development in the east, we have already started by electing LP regardless of previous party strongholds in eastern states. But we can only do so much without federal might. So like I said, there are certain things needed critically that makes the Igbo reside outside their region. Until it is rectified, we can only continue to manage ourselves.
And if you ask me o, a bully will always bully you unless you fight back. All my life, those who bullied me received it. Today, my former bullies are pals because there's respect.

Oga yorubas too vote in the east. If the state government is bad, it is bad for everybody in the state. Maybe unless, if agbero see Igbo driver on the road and not collect owoda but only collect from yoruba driver, then you can say what you are saying and it will be accepted.

The South-South and South-West States are far more developed and peaceful than the Eastern states.

May Allah make our family house habitable and conducive for us to live after our retirement.

I will advice igbos to stop voting in Lagos, it's not worth it.

If it's not presidential election, just stay in your house.

So much for one Nigeria.

If Yorubas want their states to be a one party state without opposition to checkmate the ruling Party, leave it for them.
It's their choice.

Let's go back and hold our state Governors extremely accountable, develope the East more.
if we do it in the East, other states would want to follow suit.
That's if they would want to.

The thing is, Igbos are living in Lagos, doing their business and paying tax.

If they don't want Igbos in Lagos, there are two solutions.

1. Move for the establishment of sea ports, airports and embassies in the east, not blocking it when Igbos make a move for development.

2. Join in asking for a referendum so that people will know they are in different countries. Then they can have the power of immigration.

Anything other than these, they are just deceiving themselves. You can't expect an Igbo person trying to survive anywhere he can to stomach bad governance. Abi don't yorubas vote in the east?

Without prejudice to Okada man (as I don’t know anything about him), the focus should be on COMPETENCE and not biological age.

PS: Given what we’ve witnessed right here on Nairaland the past few months…
I am not sure “youthful” Nigerians are necessarily any different from their older rulers. SMH
>

So you want me to spell everything out for you? Ok.

I wasn't really talking about youth, but yes, youth has it's advantages. I am talking about the fact that the man came from the trenches not from a place of privilege like the senator you mentioned.
At least, a good percentage of someone like him will not forget where he came from and the struggles they face. And sometimes, the desire to do something about it can be all it takes. Either competent or not.

And to be honest, the north has always been ruled from a place of privilege, that's one big reason they are very poor.

Let's try something different, shall we?

Between soludo and nwoye who is accountable?

You are still not getting me. You said if LP becomes majority in the house, Soludo is a goner. So I said, it is good that the executive and the legislature are of different parties to ensure accountability. Same way big businesses have different account sections to minimize wastage.

And if a soludo is considered not be a good candidate.is it tony nwoye that was elected on its platform a good candidate

Surely, that's accountability! You as a people can keep your governor accountable if the opposition is majority in the house.

The executive can't abuse it's powers anyhow because he knows he can be impeached quickly.

The thing you should have asked me is, do the common citizens have access to their assembly? Because that's usually the biggest problem in Nigeria which I won't deny can still be a problem in the SE. But, if the assembly is reachable, it means then, that the common man has power over their governor.

If you allow a party to get all the power every time, they can relax and bring an anyhow person for you because you have no choice.

If you had lived in SE, you will understand. It's not really about hate but track record. Soludo came into governance, didn't get any meaningful project started. He started a ruckus about environmental sanitation which he didn't complete. Then, he left everything to attack political opponents instead of letting his work talk for him.

Then, the sensitive topic of MNK. He wanted to use force to stop people from sit-at-home which he shouldn't have done because he could see the reason. Instead of going to Abuja to ask for his release or keep quiet like other governors who knew he can't do anything.

Still, there's a lot going on but you don't hear it in the news. The good thing is that he can be voted out in SE while other people can't change their governors.
