Yemen's Houthi rebels targeted US warships with ballistic missiles in the Gulf of Aden and Bab al-Mandab Strait on Wednesday, a Houthi spokesperson said Wednesday. The Yemeni group "engaged" with US warships that tried to protect two American commercial vessels, spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a statement. As a result, one of the vessels suffered a “direct hit” and the two American commercial ships were forced to turn back from the area, Saree said. "“Several of our ballistic missiles hit their targets despite the warships’ attempts to intercept them,” Saree said."The Iran-backed Houthis have said they won’t stop their attacks on commercial shipping in until the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza ends. The USS Gravely, which was nearby at the time, shot down two of the missiles, and one landed in the water, the officials said. There were no injuries or damage to the ship, CENTCOM said in a statement. Source: Hyperstv.com

The International Court of Justice will deliver its ruling Friday on whether to enact provisional measures to temporarily suspend Israel's military campaign in Gaza, the ICJ said in a news release. South Africa filed the case against Israel at the ICJ, claiming it is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and failing to prevent and punish genocide in violation of its obligations under the Genocide Convention. Israel has rejected the accusations, calling them “false” and "grossly distorted." South Africa has asked the court, which is the main legal arm of the United Nations, to enforce “provisional measures” to protect the rights of Palestinians in Gaza “from imminent and irreparable loss.” The measures would function as a kind of restraining order to stop the dispute from escalating while the full case progresses through the court, which could take years. And while the court’s rulings are final and binding, in practice it has no way of enforcing them. |

Five of the six sisters of the Al-Kadriyar family were kidnapped alongside 19 others by bandits in the Bwari area of Abuja recently and regained their freedom on Saturday, January 20. Gunmen killed the eldest of the six sisters – Nabeeha Al-Kadriyar, and three others, and dumped their corpses in an isolated area. TEHRAN, Iran -- An Iranian soldier opened fire on fellow soldiers Sunday, killing five of them in the southeastern city of Kerman, where 94 people were killed in a bombing attack earlier this month, Iranian state TV reported. State TV said the shooting happened when the soldier arrived at a barracks dormitory and opened fire on the resting soldiers. It said the motive wasn't immediately clear and the suspect, who wasn't identified, was at large. No other details were released. The report said the attack took place in Kerman some 830 kilometers (515 miles), southeast of the capital Tehran. Kerman was the scene of two deadly explosions earlier this month that killed 94 people and wounded hundreds of others during an anniversary ceremony for the death of an Iranian general killed in a 2020 U.S. drone strike in Iraq. The Islamic State group claimed responsibility. Similar shootings at military bases have been occasionally reported in Iran. In 2022, a soldier killed another soldier and three policemen at a roadside police station in the country's south. Military service of up to 24 months is mandatory for men aged 19 and above in Iran.

The U.S. military has ended an "exhaustive" 10-day search and rescue mission for two Navy SEALs who went missing on Jan. 11 in the waters of the Gulf of Aden and are now presumed deceased, according to a new statement from U.S. Central Command. The military is conducting recovery operations for the service members, CENTCOM said Sunday night. "We mourn the loss of our two Naval Special Warfare warriors, and we will forever honor their sacrifice and example. Our prayers are with the SEALs' families, friends, the U.S. Navy, and the entire Special Operations community during this time," Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, CENTCOM's commander, said in the statement. Military officials said that the U.S., Japan and Spain used air and naval resources and "searched more than 21,000 square miles" for the missing SEALs, scouring the gulf off the coast of Somalia -- to no avail. "Out of respect for the families, no further information will be released at this time," CENTCOM said. The two SEALs went into water in mid-January during a nighttime boarding mission to interdict a dhow suspected of carrying Iranian-made weapons for Houthi militants in Yemen, military officials have said. Dhows are small fishing or cargo vessels that are sometimes used by Iran to smuggle weapons. As a small Navy craft approached the dhow on Jan. 11, one of the SEALs fell into rough waters and, following protocol, a second SEAL dove into the water in a rescue attempt, according to officials. The rest of the SEALs continued with the mission on the dhow and seized Iranian-made ballistic and cruise missile parts and warheads similar to those being used by the Houthis in more than 30 attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, officials said. The Houthis have said their attacks are in response to Israel's bombardment of Gaza as the Israelis target Hamas fighters as retaliation for Hamas' Oct. 7 terror attack. PHOTO: On Jan. 12, 2024, an initial search of the dhow revealed suspicious material throughout the holds. On Jan. 12, 2024, an initial search of the dhow revealed suspicious material throughout the holds. For years, the U.S. Navy has intercepted dhows in the Gulf of Aden that are suspected of carrying Iranian-made weapons to the Houthis. During these missions, boarding teams typically pull aside the dhows in small water craft to undertake a "flag verification" mission if the dhow is unflagged or has replaced its flag to mask its smuggling. The seizure involving the SEALs was the first since the Houthis began their strikes, most of which have been repelled by U.S., French and British warships. The SEALs were operating from the USS Lewis B Puller, an expeditionary sea base and converted freighter topped with landing decks for helicopters and capable of releasing small watercraft. "In the wintertime, the sea state is typically 8-12 feet," said Eric Oehlerich, an ABC News contributor and retired SEAL commander. "The horizon is flat, so 8-12 feet is 8 feet above the flat horizon -- and then eight feet, it's like a 16 foot wave." PHOTO: A dhow was identified, Jan. 10, 2024, and an assessment was made that the dhow was in the process of smuggling. A dhow was identified, Jan. 10, 2024, and an assessment was made that the dhow was in the process of smuggling. According to Oehlerich, those high-water conditions increase the risk to nighttime ship boardings, which are carried out in pitch-black darkness. He described it as one of the most difficult missions that a SEAL can undertake, requiring constant training. "You have the risk of your boat capsizing in close proximity to larger vessels, you have to establish a solid ladder point, you have to climb a ladder at night over the open ocean between two ships -- they're smashing into each other -- and then get on board," he said. "And then your problem starts with what you're going to do ... with whomever is on board that boat," he added. PHOTO: All material offloaded from the dhow was confirmed to be Advanced Conventional Weapons (ACW). All material offloaded from the dhow was confirmed to be Advanced Conventional Weapons (ACW). The Jan. 11 seizure also marked the first time since November 2019 that the U.S. Navy has taken Iranian-made ballistic missile and cruise missile components believed to be headed for the Houthis. The military said the 14 mariners aboard the dhow were taken off the vessel and are in U.S. custody, though their future status remains to be determined. After they were taken off the dhow, the vessel was deemed unsafe and sunk by naval forces.

ISLAMABAD and LONDON -- An unprecedented turn of events took place between Iran and Pakistan this week when the neighboring nations exchanged cross-border airstrikes on what they claim were militant hideouts and safe havens being used against one another. First, Iranian airstrikes targeted what Tehran described as bases for the Sunni separatist group Jaish al-Adl in southwestern Pakistan on Tuesday. At least two children were killed and three others were injured, according to the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which called the attack an "unprovoked violation of its airspace." Then, Pakistani airstrikes targeted what Islamabad described as training camps belonging to Baluch insurgents in southeastern Iran on Thursday in retaliation for Tuesday's attack. At least nine people -- four children, three women and two men -- who were non-Iranian citizens were killed, according to Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi, who condemned the strikes. Tehran has accused Jaish al-Adl of carrying out attacks across the border inside Iran, alleging that Pakistan provides hideouts for the group and other militants known for high-profile attacks against the Iranian military -- claims which Islamabad denies. Meanwhile, Baluch separatist groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army and the Baluch Liberation Front have attacked law enforcement, government personnel and buildings in southwestern Pakistan's Baluchistan province. Islamabad has accused Tehran of giving them a safe haven across the border in Iran where they receive funding and training -- charges which Tehran denies. Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Friday and the two "agreed to de-escalate the situation," noting that their countries have to maintain "mutual trust and cooperation," according to a statement from Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Relations between Pakistan, a Sunni majority country, and Iran, a Shia majority nation, have never been favorable with both blaming the other for using their minorities as proxies for their own benefits. Nevertheless, the neighbors have historically managed to maintain routine diplomatic, trade and military activities between them. There were even bilateral events taking place this week when Iran launched its airstrikes in Pakistan on Tuesday, forcing the meetings to be canceled. This morning Pakistan undertook a series of highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision military strikes against terrorist hideouts in Siestan-o-Baluchistan province of Iran," the Ministry of Foreign Affair... PPI/Newscom Ijaz Khan, an Islamabad-based researcher and the former head of the University of Peshawar's Department of International Relations, said this week's cross-border airstrikes are the first high-profile attacks to take place between the two countries and that bilateral ties "cannot go back" to how they were. "Iran and Pakistan had differences in the past over a range of issues, but still they were able to keep their differences at a certain level and downplay them," Khan told ABC News in an interview Thursday. "It was never public expression of disagreement between them." "For a long time, they were always suspicious of each other. Those suspicions will increase," he added. "The chances of reacting negatively against each other would be much more than before." Pakistani-Iranian relations have taken a turn for the worse at a time when the wider region is already roiled by Israel's ongoing war with Iran-backed Palestinian militant group Hamas in the neighboring Gaza Strip. Since the war began last October, Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels have repeatedly used drones and missiles to target commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, supposedly in support of Hamas and the scores of suffering Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The United States has since led large-scale retaliatory airstrikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. "Iran restrained itself from jumping into it, but there was always fear that this may happen and this may escalate," Khan told ABC News. "A lot of realignment may take place in the region." Now, Iran has simultaneously opened three fronts by striking Syria, Iraq and Pakistan within a week. Tehran conducted airstrikes in Iraq and Syria late Monday in response to a suicide bombing that killed more than 90 people earlier this month, for which the Sunni militant group Islamic State claimed responsibility. Regardless of whether this week's chain of events are connected to what's already happening in the Middle East, Khan warned that there will be "implications." Khan said he and other regional analysts are "baffled" by Iran's recent decision-making and worry that further escalation on any of the fronts will trigger warfare. "Before this, thinking of an open conflict between Iran and Pakistan was not a serious topic for discussion," Khan told ABC News. "But now, it cannot be ruled out. It can never be ruled out, even if they are able to contain the current thing from escalating." "Even if it doesn't escalate physically," he added, "politically, it will." |

A guy has lamented the failure of his boss, who promised him $20 million and a house in America in exchange for his brother’s kidney donation. He assured him that he would offer him $20 million, a luxurious home in America, and a lucrative driving position there. Regretfully, Nwoko alleges that his employer broke his word following the triumphant kidney transplant on December 22, 2018, at a renowned hospital in Lagos State. In his words; “I was employed as a driver for Mr Akazue in November 2018. His brother, Osinachi, had a kidney issue, so when my boss travelled, I was driving his brother to the hospital for dialysis every three days. “When my boss returned, he called me into his office and told me that his brother’s kidney had failed and that in the next one or two weeks, his brother may die. He asked if I would like to donate one of my kidneys for his brother and said if I donated the kidney, he would give me $20m, a house in America, and will also get me a driving job in America. “I said I would do it and the next day, we went to the hospital where they ran tests and told me my kidney would match his. The next day, Akazue’s brothers, another of his in-laws, one Mr Joe, and I went back to the hospital, we stayed three days after which the surgery was done. “All the promises my boss made me, he didn’t fulfil them. Whenever I asked my boss about it, he’d tell me not to worry, that I was still in his mind. On October 13, 2023, 1 realised what had happened and told my parents about what I was going through.” Watch the video below: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cy0ZoqNt-Em Source: https://hyperstv.com/my-boss-promised-me-20-million-house-in-america-man-who-donated-kidney-to-bosss-brother-cries-as-boss-fails-deal
