Music's newest Power Couple: Ciara & Ludacris

According to an article from MediaTakeout.com, Ciara and Ludacris may have a budding romance in the works. The website reports that Ciara and Ludacris actually dated for a while back in the day, but they called it quits. Now, the couple rumors are being fueled after the songstress and the rapper were spotted at a nightclub together. MediaTakeout reports that Ludacris’ former flame Eudoxie was nowhere to be found as he and Ciara partied it up together in Atlanta, Ga. A source told the site, “Ciara asked that Luda NOT bring [Eudoxie] to [club] Opera. And the two were kickin’ it all night together. Of course, they left together too.”

Apparently, Luda and CiCi were out and about the next morning to pose for pictures. If this gossip turns out to be fact rather than fiction, the duo would make one fantastic looking power couple. Ciara and Ludacris collaborated back in 2010 on Ciara’s super sexy single ‘Ride,’ and the duo were looking hot and heavy.

Politics / Federal Government To Install Four New Turbines In Kainji by webprince(m): 3:00pm On Aug 29, 2011
The Federal Government has unveiled plans to install four additional hydro-electric turbines in the remaining units 1, 2, 3 and 4 open pits of Kainji Hydro-Electric Plant which have remained open since the completion of the plant in 1968.

Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji, who disclosed this at the weekend in Kainji, said the Federal Government would complete the installation of the remaining four hydro turbines in the power station during his inspection of the plant as part of his official assessment of power facilities in the country. Nnaji told reporters: “What we will like is to be able, in one go, to repair all these units to see the full realisation of the capacity originally installed here, that will really do a lot for power in this country so that the entire 760 megawatts can become available all at once and we would be able to modernise the plant and even more so, the open pit will have turbines installed in them, thereby increasing the capacity of this plant. This will be wonderful for this nation.

- 21 killed by hurricane in U.S. and 370,000 New Yorkers ordered to leave their homes
- 11-year-old boy among dead as tree split in half and fell on roof of his house
- Sea surge of 8ft had been expected in New York, but just 1ft of water lapped over the banks
- Winds of 90mph and up to 12INCHES of rain in some parts of U.S.
- Road in North Carolina broken in five places as floodwater spreads

Hurricane Irene killed 21 people and left a £27billion trail of destruction in it's wake - but there was relief in New York as the city escaped the worst of the storm. Parts of downtown Manhattan were flooded, including several apartment blocks, but the damage was nowhere near as widespread as had been feared. A flood surge of up to 8ft had been predicted, but in the end just 1ft washed over the banks of the surrounding rivers and onto the streets.

Computers / Cancer Battle Takes Its Toll On Apple Boss - Steve Jobs by webprince(m): 2:29pm On Aug 29, 2011
Looking gaunt and frail, this is Steve Jobs seen for the first time since his surprise departure from Apple last week. This picture, taken outside the technology mogul’s California home, fuelled fears that Jobs was nearing the end in his eight-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

The 56-year-old Apple founder looked even thinner than he did during his last public appearance two months ago. Jobs, who founded Apple in his garage in 1976, seemed almost too weak to hold himself up as he prepared to get into a waiting car in Palo Alto, northern California. He wore a black long-sleeved T-shirt, black shorts and sandals instead of his familiar turtleneck and jeans for the trip to nearby San Francisco, the city where he was born. Jobs made no direct reference to his health problems in his letter of resignation to the Apple board last week. He wrote only that he had always said he would step down as CEO if he felt he could no longer do the job to his high standards.

more pictures as you read on,

A steady stream of flowers and gifts have arrived since the announcement at the house where he has mostly remained behind closed doors with his wife and four children. Jobs had surgery to remove a tumour after being diagnosed with a rare type of pancreatic cancer in 2003 and had a liver transplant two years ago in a further attempt to prevent the spread of the disease. Although Apple shares took a 5 per cent hit after Mr Jobs stepped down, market fears were allayed because he was staying on as chairman. Now the picture underlines the fact that he is unlikely to play any major role in the day-to-day running of the company he founded in his garage in 1976.

Jobs went on medical leave in January, but still introduced the second generation iPad a couple of months later and has led the development of the iPhone 5 and iPad3. On the day Job's announced his resignation, Apple board member Art Levinson, chairman of Genentech, issued the following statement on behalf of the Apple board: 'Steve's extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world's most innovative and valuable technology company. 'Steve has made countless contributions to Apple's success, and he has attracted and inspired Apple's immensely creative employees and world class executive team.

Young Steve Jobs in 1977 (left) and In April this year (right) seemed frail sparking speculation he may resign

Though his resignation letter was short and to the point, it was obviously full of emotion as he thanked 'the best friends he made for life' at the billion dollar company. He is seen as the heart and soul of Apple, with analysts and investors repeatedly expressing concern over how the company, based in Cupertino, California, would handle his departure. He has now been replaced by former Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook.

Lockerbie bomber Megrahi is found in coma, close to death and abandoned in Tripoli
- Family claims looters have ransacked house and stolen his medicine

The Lockerbie bomber has been tracked down in Tripoli, where he lies in a coma - abandoned and close to death. Abdelbaset al-Megrahi, who was convicted of the murder of 270 people in the 1988 airliner bombing, is surviving on an intravenous drip in a room in his family's palatial villa. But family members said that he was close to death and that they had been given no help since Libyan dictator Colonel Gaddafi was ousted by rebels.
The family claims the house has been ransacked by looters who have taken Megrahi’s medicine. CNN reporter Nic Robertson, who visited the family home where Megrahi is bed-ridden, said: ‘His face is sunken, I was shocked when I walked into the room and saw him in such a state. ‘His son told me he has no idea how much longer his father has to live. He said he should be able to live his last few days in peace at home because he’s going to die either way, at home or in Scotland.’

Megrahi, who is the only person convicted of the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, was freed from prison in Scotland on 'compassionate grounds' in August 2009 because he had 'just three months' to live. But more than two years later, the 59-year-old is still alive despite his diagnosis of terminal prostate cancer. The news of Megrahi's survival continues to provoke consternation among those relatives of victims of the 1988 bombing who suspect he was never as sick as he claimed to be. They believe it was an unforgivable mistake for the Scottish Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill to release him after only eight years of his life sentence.
Al-Megrahi pictured looking frail and in a wheelchair in his room at a hospital in Tripoli back in September 9, 2009 as families raged at his release

With the overthrow of Gaddafi, U.S. and British politicians have called for him to be extradited to live out the rest of his sentence in prison. But the National Transitional Council, the rebel group that toppled Gaddafi, today said it would not allow Megrahi to be extradited. 'We will not give any Libyan citizen to the West,' NTC Justice Minister Mohammed al-Alagi said.
Celebrities / Maria Fowler Doused In Champagne While Partying In A Skimpy One-piece In Marbell by webprince(m): 2:00pm On Aug 29, 2011
Maria Fowler doused in Champagne while partying in a skimpy one-piece in Marbella
She has been spotted sporting a variety of skimpy bikinis while holidaying in Marbella this week. And yesterday Maria Fowler proved she can do one-pieces too - as long as they are just as revealing. The TOWIE star, 25, displayed her curves in a barely-there black monokini to attend a Champagne spray party at Marbella's Ocean Club.

She accessorised the £32 cut-out Ann Summers 'Instant Boob Job' number with a thin black sarong and lots of chunky gold jewellery. The reality star sipped champagne and nibbled strawberries and was seen chatting to footballer Titus Bramble. She had been feeling unwell earlier in the day and tweeted: 'Not felt this ill for a very long time!!! At champagne spray jus wanna enjoy it wahhh sad x.'

But before long she appeared to be on the mend and posted a picture of herself in her tiny swimwear along with the message: 'Ocean Spray wooop xxxx feeling a bit better.' The alcohol certainly seemed to help and the reality star was even seen leaping into the air as fellow party-goers sprayed her with Champagne. She then sat on a male friend's shoulders in the pool while nursing a bottle of bubbly.

The interesting swimsuit is just one in a string of poolside outfits that Maria has donned this week. Her holiday wardrobe has also included metallic purple, animal print and chain bikinis. Maria has been on holiday while her boyfriend Craig Church stays home in London.

Nairaland / General / How To Choose A Career That’s Best For You by webprince(m): 11:02pm On Aug 28, 2011
since we all have different skills, interests, experiences and expectations, there’s no one career that’s best for everyone. So how do you choose the career that’s best for you?

Whether you’re trying to decide where to look for your first job or pondering a possible career change, here’s what you should consider when thinking through this important decision:

What are your natural talents?
We all have natural talents, certain tasks that come easy to us. When we use our natural talents, time moves fast and we tend to receive compliments for our abilities. Knowing where your natural talents lie is key to choosing the right career. Of course we’re capable of doing other things, but those other tasks usually feel more like work. What do you always enjoy doing, and how can those skills be applied to a job?

What’s your work style?
Each of us has a preferred work style, even if we don’t realize it. That style can sometime conflict with a career choice. For example, a flexible work environment might allow you to deliver projects on various dates, while a structured environment would require specific deadlines and strict guidelines. What works better for you? In which environment do you tend to thrive?
