Last season I said no way in hell did di Maria suddenly become crap & I never supported his sale. The issue is that explosive players will struggle to impact the way the should *can* in the philosophy! You can't tell me a team with di Maria, Young, Memphis, Martial, Herrera & Mata will struggle to score goals & people will think it's normal. Look @ Darmian's first month in terms of attacking play, I see him attack these days like a cripple & I'm thinking but this guy didn't start like this what's his problem? Except LvG can say he sold Rafael for his injury problems then I see no reason else. Hernandez is doing his thing in Germany, why was he disposed like trash? We've loaned out Wilson & Januzaj, look how thin we are in attack!
These are not bad players, it's easy to place a finger on the limitations!
Recycling possession is good & it has formed the basics for a stronger cohesive rearguard. What I believe is that after LvG is gone & we can grab a manager like Pep who will attempt to continue on the foundations laid while maintaining his attacking mindset, then we will be in for multiple trophies in the next decade.
