If they need another medical test from you they’ll request for that. So stop bothering yourself. And also, they don’t use small variables such as high pb or insignificant blood in urine.

There are things they’re mostly concerned in: TB,HIV,Syphylis,Kidney problem (especially dialysis)

Thank you so much @Welsh2np,

From what I understand, you won’t advise that I reapply with family. That’s ok. I think I won’t be tempted to do that again. Lol 😂

Travel history within cities in Nigeria. Pls don’t laugh! Is that not enough travel history?
Lol. I know you’re joking. Travel history outside Nigeria.

But it’s okay, let your family stay back here. They can always join you later. But do well to explain in your sop why your family isn’t joining you anymore.

Please gurus in the house, please I need answers to these questions...I finished my NYSC in 2018, then started training as health care assistant from 2019 to 2021 after which I started volunteering at a public health center from 2022 till date...I v already gotten admission to study health care administration and management at fanshaw college... please my brother is my sponsor n I don't v anything on my account to show as proof of fund...my brother ll be taking care of everything.... please I want to ask hope is ok if I just submit my brother's statement of account.... Thanks everyone...I ll be waiting for u guys reply.
1. Do you share same surname with your brother?
2. How much is your total expenses for your school and Programme per annum: tuition, accommodation, health insurance, special fees, flight, settling allowances. ( Also, how many years is your program?)
3. How much does your brother have in his closing balance?
4. Made any tuition fee deposit? Paid any fees?
5. Is your brother married? Is he making any initial commitment towards your studies?

(Too many questions there, lol. If you don’t feel like answering here, just answer them offline, but take note that those are very important questions)

Not at all. I even have funding appointment offer uploaded with my application but I found out that the VO was silent on that.
Welp, you know you’re going with a family of 6.

You need to show strong proof of funds.

I saw somewhere you wrote Cad$84k as your total available funds, including the funding you got.
I don’t think it’s good enough.
Also, (not a strong criteria, but...) do you have travel history?

Good morning Everyone,
My good people I’ve just gotten my gcms note which is attached below stating; low opening balance and large closing balance, lump sum deposit, limited source of funds evidence and no tuition deposit; as reasons for the refusal.
Pls this time I’ll like to ask;

1) using the same account statement, starting from where I have large opening balance and closing at current balance (say Oct 12 to March 12). Is it ok?

2) explaining the lump sums which came from my private practice and salary savings; attaching
a) my bank statement showing 8.5m which indicated monies from clients, 2m gift from wife, transfer from my salary account and transfer from corporate account of our registered company.
b) award letters of ongoing projects from clients summing up to like 45m,
c) recent pay slip from current employer,
d) gift deed from wife as sponsor, letter and affidavit of sponsorship from wife,
e) company registration docs and tax certificate, letter and affidavit of sponsorship from our registered company stating annual support of 25000CAD, signed by my wife.

Will this be enough to explain these lump sums and sources of funds?

3) I’ll transfer 5m from company account to wife then have her gift me 2m and pay tuition of about 3m from her account as I said before. But then, Having this accumulated balance of 8.5 for 1year expenses as transferred into my own account from wife/company with the above documents from spouse (sponsor) and company, is it ok?

4) I don’t really want to include wife’s bank statement nor company account statement cos they have low balance, believing that the gift deed from wife, tax documents from company, plus letters and affidavit of sponsorship from both, will be enough. Pls I need your candid opinions.

5) I also want to pay full one year tuition possibly from wife’s account and indicate that in my LOE to show her commitment in supporting me. I hope this is ok

6) if my wife successfully sponsor me, will it affect her chances of coming through sowp after I’ve been approved?

7) if I must include wife account statement; sourcing for POF (assets liquidation) of like 5m from banks into her account within few days to my application, including BOD resolution instructing that and the certificate of liquidation. Will it be a red flag 🚩?

cool It seems the VO did not consider my University funding of 2000 CAD monthly minimum. Though this maybe cos in my previous application, I said “my expenses in Canada will be paid by MYSELF “. This time I hope it’ll be ok to say my expenses will be paid by; Myself, my spouse, university funding, my business.

9) Again, pls what figure do I put as “amount available for my stay in Canada”? Is it;
(my 8.5m + tuition amount + total annual funding + amount of expected support from business)

10) pls is mobile app generated bank statement accepted for POF? I realize it has lower mb than scanned statements. I normally hear about “MBS”, are they the same?

11) having the above details, my people, will anyone encourage me to apply together with my family again? 🙄

Sincerely my people, my health and emotions have been down since this refusal, I humbly need your full support to achieve this pls.
@bullstriker and experts in the house pls help me, I beg.
Were you required to make any tuition fee deposit?

Good Morning everyone,I applied in October for May 2023 intake and was denied for financial reasons. My dad pulled out some of the money with the intention to replace it back almost immediately unfortunately I was rejected that week for financial reasons.

Please I want to re apply again,he just put the money back,I told him to pay it in small small.

Please can I go ahead to reapply again or I should allow the money to sit in his account for sometime?

My challenge is that May is around the corner and I don't have so much time.
Sorry about your refusal.
You have to order your notes to know actual refusal reason.

Secondly, how long is your program and how much of bank statement did you show?

No i am not changing my sponsor i am still using my uncle as my sponsor i just want my dad to get me money in my own account as gift deed and also do gic i showed our relationship with a family tree and he does not have the same surname with me as he is my maternal uncle. my program is two years.
Okay that’s okay. I’m sure the previous application was refused because of proof of relationship between applicant and sponsor. If the only document you submitted was family tree.

Secondly, considering that he’s your uncle and not your dad, CAD$35k is certainly not much.

I just calculated your expenses: 19k(tuition)+10k(living expenses)+3k(Miscellaneous)=32kper annum.

Two years masters is around 60k ish.
Out of which you paid 19k.
Left with 41k.

And you’re using your uncle (it is believed he has his own family and extra responsibility- so obviously he can’t give you all his 35k). Highest he’ll give you 30% lol. . . I’m kidding right! But that’s it.

So yes go on with the GIC and/or gift-deed from dad then supplement the POF with your uncle + the tuition fee payed, it should fly.

Please i need help on this i was just refused based on proof of funds. i have paid my 1 year school fees and started my program online my sponsor which is my uncle has 35k Cad in his account and i also have 480k in my account when i applied. i used an agent before but i want to do this myself now.To tackle this can i
1) Do a Gic certificate
2) Get money from my dad to my account and do a gift deed?
Hello @Tarmmey...
Sorry about your refusal. Would you kindly update us the entire duration of your program.

Secondly, does your uncle have same surname as you? Did you provide enough documentation to show relationship between applicant and sponsor?
And now you’re changing sponsor from your Uncle to your dad. You may also want to tell the VO where your dad has been all the while and why your uncle had initially wanted to sponsor you.

The options of a GIC and your sponsor sending the money to you are also great.
However, even if you just do a GIC, and use your dad as sponsor (show his bank statement and support letter), that’ll be just fine.

Dear Welsh2np, I understand your dilemma, however in this Canadianwaka it is always advisable that to put in an application you can defend as well as one that will make you sleep well. If you are getting lump sum from another party and passing it off as a gift from your mum with a (cheque) then it is confusing- A cheque is a doc you are given which you would have cleared into your account.

The options available to you
1. The person sends the money to you as a loan duly documented (you have state how you will pay the loan in your SOP and attach the documents evidencing the loan as educational loan)
2. If your mother's account is highly transactional, the person can move the funds to you and your mum sends the funds to you with a gift deed (you can include her statement or not) - you will hope they do not go as far checking your mum's account.
3. Most difficult - The person stands as your sponsor, but you have to draft a strong SOP to show hwy he is sponsoring you and his income sources.
Thank you very much @Bobomaigida.
Your opinions are great.

I think option 1 and 2 are nicer options. But speaking of option 2, I don’t think the person would want to move the money first to my mum’s account and so my mum would move it to me.

However I was also considering using a sale of a property as evidence for the lump sum. Please what’s required to proof this fully.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hello all,

My previous application was refused for insufficient funds.

Although I have some funding for my master’s (enough to cover tuition and even accommodation).

The sponsor I used before is my half brother( we share different surnames). Although I added our birth certificates in my previous application, the VO was still concerned about the type of relationship and stated in the GCMS notes that I didn’t include enough documentation to show relationship between applicant and sponsor.

To cut the story short:

I am reapplying and someone is transferring a certain amount of lump sum into my account. (Which I intend to keep until the sp is approved)

I thought of getting a gift deed from my mum to say she’s the one who’s transferring the funds to me.

So my Mum is giving me a cheque (even though she’s not the one who deposited the money into my account)

My concern is: I don’t know if they can go as far as checking the validity of the cheque and also even as far as checking her own account to proof if she really transferred money to me. (As claimed in the gift-deed)

(Note: I am not submitting my mum’s bank statements). Just my bank statement.

I’m really looking forward to the gurus opinions.

I’m avoiding misrepresentation as much as I could.

What is the best way to explain the lump sum deposited in my account?

Thanks
Abeg make una help a brother.

Best format to explain lumpsum and to show the funds came in from Mum

Hello NLs.

Just a quick one. So my previous study permit application was refused because of insufficient proof of funds.
My GCMS notes from CBSA reads that I didn't provide sufficient documentation to establish relationship between me and my sponsor. meanwhile, my sponsor as indicated was my half brother (Sharing same mother but different fathers, hence bearing different surnames.)
To proof this relationship, I had attached birth certificates of my brother and myself and to show that we shared same mother.

Welp, to cut the long story short, I am reapplying but this time, My Mother wants to transfer funds into my account and to be backed up by a gift deed and affidavit.

- My Questions are;

1. Is this a welcomed approach? Would there be any concerns by the VO
2. Is there any particular format for preparing a gift deed?
3. Are they other requirements to show proof of funds in this type of situation? Does my mum need to attach any other documents like to show the source of the Money?

Thanks all for your responses .

Hello all. Please I have very urgent concern I will appreciate input of gurus in the house.

First of all I received 2-years msc admission to start in January and it came with funding. However I was refused based on insufficient funds.
My previous application, I used my brother as my sponsor and his closing balance was 6M.
...
I think the VOs concern was that this money was not in my account, and since it’s in my brother’s account, it means my brother may also have need for the money and so I can’t really claim it’s mine.
...

I want to reapply and this time my brother wants to transfer the money to my account so I can add it with the funding I got from my school to serve as proof of funds.

My concern right now is on the issue of lump sums and hence my questions below:

1. If my brother sends the money to me, how can I navigate around the problem of lump sum? What is the best way to explain this,

2. However, my brother intends to do a gift deed, does a gift deed answer to my concern in question 1? If yes, how and where can I prepare a gift deed and what is the estimated cost. Also can someone show me a sample of a gift deed?

University of Victoria

By the way, which other expenses should be covered?

These are the expenses:

Tuition for each semester = $2,639.50
Athletics = $92.46
GSS Bus Pass = $81.00
Graduate Student Society = $95.25
GSS Dental Plan = $284.55
GSS Extended Health Plan = $409.00
Mandatory Medical Insurance = $265.00

Therefore, the person would pay the following for each term;
Fall Term = $3,866.76
Winter Term = $2,908.21
Summer Term = $2,908.21
Average for a year = $9,683.18

So, the person is left with $10,000+

Is there any other fee to show funding for?
To be on the safe side of IRCC, advice him to get extra POF.
...

...
speaking of which: the $19k funding he got would be paid to him AFTER he resumes, settles down and possibly opens a Canadian account. So let’s be realistic, how does he hope to cover the cost of flight, housing for the first few weeks and settling down allowances?

(I stand to be corrected on the kind of funding tho. Do they pay him his funding even BEFORE he arrives?)
