Plz can my cousin be given admission,he scored 200 in jamb..And chose OAU as First choice in Engineering department.. |
Michelle22: check disIn ur trig identity sin2x=2sinxcosx so put it where you see sin2x...2sinxcosx=cosx...so divide both sides by cosx and cosx will cancel out to give 2sinxcosx/cosx=cosx/cosx...2sinx=1...sinx=1/2...sinx=0.5...x=sin inverse or arc sin 0.5.....x=30 or 150(degree) ...since it should be less between 0 and 360...So the answer is 30 or 150(in degrees |

Emma_esty: Pls help me with dis: The quadratic equation whose roots are 1-113 and 1+113 isSo let this_/ serve as our square root..If the root of the equation is 1+_/13 and 1+_/13 if i guess what u have written right...SO {x-(1+_/13)}{x-(1-_/13)}=(x-1-_/13)(x-1+_/13)..now by multiplying each of content in the first bracket by the whole second brack,like this...=x(x-1+_/13)-1(x-1+_/13)-_/13(x-1+_/13)=x^2-x+x_/13-x+1-_/13-x_/13+_/13-13...as you can se some will cancel out to give us zero e.g[x_/13-x_/13 and-_/13+_/13]..so it is a bit simplified to give us x^2-x-x+1-13=x^2-2x-12....So the answer is 'd' ...note the signs and square root and don't mix it up,nd if u want to write it down,make sure equals to sign = starts the next line. |
@Joshua,reframe d question..but if d que is like this (2x-3)=13....2x=3+13..... 2x=16.....x=8..but it's too simple,that is why i said reframe it. |
I chose it for second choic,is there any hope |
sagbar: MY PROJECT SUPERVISOR GAVE ME THIS TRIG PROBLEM TO SOLVE AS THIS WILL SERVE AS A GREATER EFFORT IN CONCLUDING MY PROJECT WITH HIM. THE QUESTION GOES THUS:USING THE TRIG IDENTITY COS3THETA=4COS^3THETA-3COSTHETA,EXPRESS COSTHETA AS A FUNCTION OF COS3THETA I.E COSTHETA=F(COS3THETA) EXPLICITLY. THANKS AND GOD BLESSNow let '@' be theta....Cos3@=cos(@+2@), cos3@=cos@cos2@-sin@sin2@..{remember dat in trig identity cos2@ is 2cos^2@ and sin2@ is 2sin@cos@ and sin^2@ is 1-cos^2@} now continuation..cos3@=cos@(2cos^2@-1)-sin@(2sin@cos@), cos3@=cos@(2cos^2@-1)-2sin^2@cos@, cos3@=cos@(2cos^2@-1)-2(1-cos^2@)cos@, cos3@=cos@(2cos^2@-1)-2(cos@-cos^3@), cos3@=2cos^3@-cos-2cos@+2cos^3@, cos3@= 4cos^3@-3cos@ NOTE:Where cos3@ starts begin 4rm another line it be vertical....It's right if i really understand ur question. |
Drop any question ayou find difficult or assignment dat u ave tried that u find difficult on these topics 1.Logarithms 2.Set 3.Mensuration(areas,volume,latitude and longitude e.t.c) 4.Word problem 5.Commercial maths 6.statistics 7.probabibility 8.All form of algebra 9.permutation and combination 10.Bearing 11.matrices 12.differencial calculus 13.Linear sequence 14.Indices and surd 15.Base form 16.polymomial 17.partial fraction 18.compound angle 19.geometry and trigonometry identity and any other pure maths ...others like graph,loci,circle geometry and construction cannot be solve here |
The formulas are related,just u nid to learn this topic under elementary maths..Change of subject of formula,algebraic equations ..For example under electricity we know that Q=CV and we also know that W=1/2QV..but supposing in a question u are ask to find W(workdone ) and u are not giving Q but u are giving C and V all u need to do is just to substitute for Q and we already know that Q=CV u wil put CV where u see Q so W=1/2QV SO W=1/2(CV)V W =1/2CV^2..You have seen that whole thing change but still d same...and i know that that is one of the typical example of what you are saying...My advice is that you just need to learn and understand those two topics in maths i said above and learn those little formula in physics because it build up to form complex one. |
I'v check out the previous thread....@ all,thnks 4 ur advice,now i'm going to follow what u said...i'm studying Elect/Electronic Engineering @OAU if i pass my Post Jamb well....Once again thnks @ all...In d next 5yrs i hope i will come back here and appreciate u all. |
Thanks @ all ..Now i've chosen Electrical/Electronic Engineering to study @ OAU.. |
yamakuza: Since you've already filled Elect, you can leave it that way.Yes, |
I'm 17,In dis previous Jamb dat i wrote i scored an excellent mark,i chose Electrical Engineering as my first preferred course @ OAU, but i still have a strong desire to study Mathematics in d uni because of these reasons....(1) I'm so good in maths dat i score A1 in every maths exams i wrote and i'm considered best in d class nd even among d student in d school to d extent dat my mates in d class usually tell me dat it would be good for me to study maths in d uni..in d recent GCE i did i ave A1 in maths and further maths..I score at least 95% in all maths exams i did..Infact i did not just know it but i understand the concept...I even usually derive formulas independently,for example area of a regular hexagon 3a^2sin60 where a is the length of d side,any one can test it and compare it with normal work it out.<u can never find it in d text book> ,i find the distance between any two places on d earth provided they are on the same latitude but one must be at d south and the other at the north but d one at the north or south wil be at different longitude using the knowlede of mensuration,which i tested using a very long method but the answer is just d same with the derived formula and many more things ...i can 'tackle? any question in pure maths, not to use the word 'solve'<it seems like a gift>,.solving maths becomes my hobby and i do it in my leisure hour....But on the other hand I chose Electrical/Electronic Engnring because i just love engineering field nd with the combination of maths/further maths,,physics,chemistry,geography nd TD which are my best subjects i know i am fit in the field and i like solving peoples problem....SHOULD I go for UME change of course form b4 it closes..But i if not studying maths now i will still go for it after my degree in E.E engineering.. |
enlighten me |
I need to know because i have to choose one |
You have got to fuel your generator because you have to watch an important match..But u notice that the petrol you will use contain water and kerosene ..how can you seperate this mixture in other to get your petrol from the resulting mixture. |
MRbrownJAY: ^^^ that one is not brain food, it is a weekend ASSIGNMENT, lol!!!!weekend assignment,NO |
Opps |
A group of engineers has got to build a building..In order to make the buliding a standard and a strong one the ratio of water,cement,soft sand and granite must be in the ratio 1:3:4:2 by mass..If the mass of granite on ground is 40kg and in a mixture of correct proportion with sand and cement..calculate the volume of water needed to mixed up with the resulting mixture if the density of water is 1000kg/m^3 <m^3 means raise to the power of 3>.......,{the question is taken from me off-hand and anyone who is sure can stand up to d challenge and if u get it i promise u a special thing} |
Whao i love maths... |
@MRbrownJAY,,Yap right, good job |
Wonderful result |
In a class of 60 students,a need arise to vote for the class captain and two people are to be voted for A and B. If voting for the two people by a person is illegal and 35 people voted for A, 36 people voted for B..How many people voted legally supposing A and B did not vote.. |
