Hello my fellow Nairalanders,

The frustration about life is getting too much , how can I be married with 2 kids and a wife Andi will be without even 1 Kobo on me.

I have practically lost everything that give me joy. Iost my job since April 2023, then I decided to use my car to do Uber things, now the car has broken and I don't have 1kobo on me to fix it up. How can I be looking at the faces of my beautiful children and I can't even feed them?

I woke up since around 2am, I couldn't sleep, and something tells me to take my life because the shame and frustration is getting too much as I didn't get any help from any of my friends and relatives.

I want to tell a little story for my bethren against December

A lot of monkeys lived near a village.
One day a merchant came to the village to buy the monkeys.

He announced that he would buy the monkeys for N1,000 each.

The villagers thought he was mad.

They thought how can somebody buy wild monkeys for N1,000 each?

Still, some people caught a few monkeys and gave them to the merchant and he gave them N1,000 for each monkey.

This news spread like wildfire and more people caught more monkeys to sell to the merchant.

After a few days, the merchant announced that he would buy monkeys for N2,000 each.

Even the lazy villagers now ran around to catch the remaining monkeys and sold them for N2,000 each.

Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys for N5,000 each!.

The villagers started to lose sleep! They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left, and got N5,000 for each one.

The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.

Then the merchant said he was going home for a week and when he returned he would buy monkeys for N10,000 each.

He asked his employee to take care of the monkeys he bought.

The merchant went home and the villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell at N10,000 each.

Then the merchant's employee told them he will secretly sell them monkeys for N7,000 each.

This news spread like wildfire. Since the merchant will buy monkeys for N10,000 each, there is a N3,000 profit for each monkey.

The next day the villagers made a queue near the monkey cage.

The employee sold all the monkeys for N7,000 each.
The rich bought monkeys in big lots.
THE POOR BORROWED MONEY FROM MONEY LENDERS AND ALSO BOUGHT MONKEYS.

The villagers took care of the monkeys and waited for the merchant to return.

But nobody came.

They ran to the employee.

But he had already left too.

The villagers then realised that they had bought the useless stray monkeys for N7,000 each and were unable to sell them.

Beware of Monkey Businesses!!!

Real Businesses are always based on Real Products and Services(shop or office space can also be rented, MMM and Co taught me that, so dig deeper)

No more monkeys business this year....

Keep your 5k manage it for December

Some are coming in the form of network marketing, Forex & Agricultural investments with unrealistic returns on investment etc etc....beware!

Nice and sweet promises are calculated for you which look wonderful on paper but a mirage in reality.

A Nigerian and foremost Nairalander serving in the US Army, Kennedy Onoriode Ovabore died in 2019 at the age of 44.

Kennedy died on May 5th after a brief illness.

According to his Obituary, Kennedy is survived by his wife and children.


Ovabore was my brother and a beloved Nairalander whose legacy would not be easily forgotten. He helped many undergraduates in his days here and also many Urhobo people benefited from him too
