PoliticsRe: Does Nasir El Rufai Deserve Any Sympathy? by wesley80(m): 1:07pm On Jul 30, 2014
OP, I read the below post in some other thread here in NL and I think it's very instructive for you.
There was this Hindu who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his finger, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.
A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him. But the Hindu said: "It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?"
El Rufai might be a vile fellow but that's no excuse to be a cold hearted gloat at someone else's misery. The man lost a daughter a few months ago and has just lost a son, karma or not, sympathy is what's due for the sake of our humanity without due empathy, we are just as unfeeling as the BOKO boys.
Don't give up loving.
Don't give up your goodness.

maestroferddi: So your hallowed foreigner should abuse his welcome by mishandling security operatives? He can only pull that kind of dastardly stunt in a country like Nigeria. If it were in saner climes, he would have since been dispatched back to his home country.
Would he have to "pull that stunt" if the generality of citizens weren't docile? Would a road be barricaded forcing road users to make detours simply because an IG of police lives nearby in a saner clime?
PoliticsRe: Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador To Nigeria Punches Policeman In Abuja by wesley80(m):
I'm amazed no one has questioned the propriety of putting a barricade outside the home of the IG such that motorists are forced to make detours, let me guess Boko Haram? How does having barricades outside the home of every top government official solve our terrorism problems? what becomes of ordinary citizens who are and have been first line victims of previous BH attacks?
This thread in many ways highlights all that's wrong with us. Here we are accepting an absurdity as normal and calling for the arrest of a foreigner with the guts to protest when we cowardly failed to and yet we ask why our government treat Nigerians like thrash? well perhaps Nigerians are!

Obiagelli: countries dont just accepted plants/seedlings/animals into their territory anyhow because it could alter their natural habitat.
Of course they don't, but it should be obvious in a situation like this that someone was planning on having a snail feast. The entire suspicion and investigation is unnecessary IMO.
PoliticsRe: Oops! US Customs Seize And Incinerate Our Precious Snails by wesley80(op): 10:11am On Jul 15, 2014
"These snails are seriously harmful to local plants because they will eat any kind of crop they can get to," said Ms Mirza, who added that investigations were continuing into why one person would want so many.
The bolded is evidence that every race has it's folly! Just like our penchant for setting up committees, White folks are launching an investigation into the obvious! Why would anyone fly dozens of snails 6,000 miles across the ocean to destroy American habitat? Do they even realize these "mollusks" are edible?
PoliticsOops! US Customs Seize And Incinerate Our Precious Snails by wesley80(op): 10:02am On Jul 15, 2014
Sixty-seven live giant African snails have been
seized by US customs agents. The snails, which are prohibited in the US, were found by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) inspectors at Los Angeles International Airport. They arrived from Nigeria and were intended for a person in California, said Lee Harty, a spokeswoman for the customs agency.
The molluscs are among the largest land snails in the world and can grow up to 8ins (20cm) long, said officials.
The US Department of Agriculture put the snails in an incinerator after they were inspected, said Harty, because they can carry parasites that are harmful to humans, including one that can lead to meningitis.
They are also potentially damaging to nature, said Maveeda Mirza, the CBP programme manager for agriculture.
"These snails are seriously harmful to local plants because they will eat any kind of crop they can get to," said Ms Mirza, who added that investigations were continuing into why one person would want so many.
"We're investigating what happened, but it doesn't seem like there was smuggling involved," she said.
This is the first time that they have confiscated such a large quantity, she added, although there have been cases of much smaller numbers being found to be accidentally in people's luggage.

According to Erediauwa, he dumped APC because he
want to embrace change.
“Thank you for welcoming me to the party. I just
tendered my resignation. I decided to embrace
change to work and take over the state.”

“We will see action as time progresses.”
The state chairman of the party, Chief Dan Orbih who

SportsAlex Song And Cameroon Under Investigation For Match Fixing In Brazil by wesley80(op): 10:46am On Jul 01, 2014
Cameroon officials are to investigate claims that seven of their players were involved in match-fixing at the World Cup in Brazil.
The ethics committee of the African country's football federation will look at allegations of "fraud" by "seven bad apples" in their three group games.
The allegations have been made in a German news magazine Der Spiegel by a convicted match fixer from Singapore.
Cameroon lost all their Group A games, including a 4-0 defeat by Croatia.
The Indomitable Lions had Alex Song sent off for lashing out at Mario Mandzukic in that game, while team-mates Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Benjamin Moukandjo clashed late on in the game.
The allegations were made by convicted football match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal, who was detained by police in Finland in April on an international arrest warrant.
In a discussion with Der Spiegel, the Singaporean correctly forecast the result with Croatia and that a player would be sent off.

A statement from Cameroon's FA read: "Recent allegations of fraud around Cameroon's 2014 Fifa World Cup three preliminary games, especially Cameroon versus Croatia, as well of the 'existence of seven bad apples [in our national team]' do not reflect the values and principles promoted by our administration, in line with Fifa's code of conduct and the ethics of our nation.
"We are strongly committed to employ all means necessary to resolve this disruptive matter in the shortest delays."
Fifa did not comment on whether it was looking into the issue as football's world governing body did not want to "compromise any possible investigations".
It did, however, add: "Speaking generally, the integrity of the game is a top priority for Fifa and as such we take any allegations of match manipulation very seriously."

Wilson Raj Perumal from Singapore is a convicted match fixer
In a book published in April, Perumal claims he arranged for players from one team at the Beijing Olympics to ensure their side took the kick-off in two separate matches
The book also alleges Perumal influenced qualifying for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa

Cameroon's build up to the tournament in Brazil was marred by the players refusing to board a plane to Braziluntil a dispute over bonus payments had been settled.
A financial package was eventually agreed with Cameroon's football federation, Fecafoot, but the squad's journey to the World Cup had been delayed for almost a day.
They started the tournament with a 1-0 defeat by Mexicoprior to the loss to Croatia and being beaten 4-1 by hosts Brazil.
"Some players behaved very badly, and that's why we have conceded four goals," Cameroon head coach Volker Finke told French newspaper L'Equipeafter the Croatia defeat.
"I know that it is difficult to play with 10 men, but that is not a reason to lose it to this point.
"The game was balanced until the red card. The Croatians were more clinical in front of goal, but Cameroon also had chances to score.
"The behaviour of some of the players is really not satisfactory. Even when we were 11-a-side, it was not acceptable."
Fellow African nation Ghana is also involved in allegations over corruption.
The country's Football Association has called in the police to investigate the claims, although the GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi is to sue the Daily Telegraph newspaperover its claim he agreed for the national team to play in matches others were preparing to fix.

Omen100: I will call this one a stylish damage control and still stand my ground that president Jonathan lack the political balls to sack Sanusi, after all he never appointed him in the first place and were are those flat head chumps who thought, it's gonna be an easy ride for president Jonathan.
The President cannot sack the CBN governor. It isn't a question of balls but of constitutionality. The central bank Governor can only be removed on account of Gross misconduct or infirmity of mind or body that hinders him from carrying out his duties effectively and even when so determined, a two thirds majority of the upper house would still need to agree to a removal.
The President asking Sanusi to resign was about the only thing he could do in the circumstance and Sanusi chose to assert his right. There's nothing brave or cowardly about the episode IMO.
