PoliticsAbuja Federal Court Quashes El Rufai's Corruption Case by wesley80(op): 12:51pm On Dec 13, 2013
An Abuja High court has freed former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir El-Rufai, of charges of abuse of power.
The court gave its discharge verdict today, exonerating Mr. El-rufai of criminal charges.
The former FCT minister, now a leading member of the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, was charged under the Corrupt and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 for using his position to corruptly revoke a plot of land from its previous owners – Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plc – and re-award same to his wife, Hadiza Ahmed El-Rufai.
Speaking on the outcome of the case, the former minister said he holds no grudges against his adversaries’.
“It is a vindication he never doubted will come, confident in his innocence and the integrity with which he served this country,” Muyiwa Adekeye, his spokesperson said.
“Despite the magnitude of the pains he has endured, El Rufai has decided to put all this in the past. He intends to move on, stepping confidently into the future with forgiveness and goodwill, devoid of the cobwebs of grudge.”
The former minister, El-Rufai has been on trial since 2008.

PoliticsRe: Seun The Power To Hide Topic And Ban Posters Should Be Left To Nls by wesley80(m): 10:03am On Dec 13, 2013
Your ideas arent practicable. If Seun agrees to them then online minorities like South Southerners and Pro GEJ would always have their posts hidden, in othes words, your idea would open another frontier for rivalry and oppression.
Secondly, bans are VERY EFFECTIVE, I can testify to that! I believe what we need is a RIGHT OF APPEAL. Seun should consider working something out. In summary, Sorry your ideas are a no no.
TravelRe: Delta Awards Contract For Second Int’l Airport by wesley80(m): 9:25am On Dec 13, 2013
dridowu: how is it misplaced priority ? It is a welcome development as far as if the government is ready to spend judiciously. Moreover this will create both direct and indirect jobs to people of Delta State and Nigerians at large but my challenges with all this project is how soon will the project be completed ?
Have you been to Warri? Do you think an international airport is the most pressing need in the city? If its not then how is this a welcome development?
TravelRe: Delta Awards Contract For Second Int’l Airport by wesley80(m): 6:46am On Dec 13, 2013
Eze Promoe: Though this is a another welcome development, it isn't far from the fact that it is another Asaba/Warri rivalry. But above that, this is a very welcome development. All cities in Nigeria should have an airport.
States like Anambra with no airport should be owning three airports.
Rivers state that is the Treasure Base of the Nation should have like four airports.

What is there to welcome? Why an international airport in a city begging for adequate infrastructure? An international airport would be worthwhile if a spike in visitors was expected in Warri considering there's already one in Asaba but its far from so. The Osubi airstrip as it is, is meeting the needs of the state and I've not heard of airliner falling over themselves to fly to Warri. Another bigger airport is totally unnecessary. Someone needs to call Ibori's cousin to order.

PoliticsRe: Co-ordinated Political Attacks On GEJ 2015 by wesley80(m): 3:24pm On Dec 12, 2013
1MCN: 50Billion Dollars translates into about 8Trillion Naira. This is about Nigeria's budget for two whole years. In your very clear senses, do you think Jonathan, Dieziani, Okonjo-Iweala could have possibly embezzled such an amount of cash between January 2012 and July 2013 and the yet the budget and the economy is still walking on its foot? You think Public Sector Accounting is like is like Pythagora's theorem? Well, anything to make the demon out of our enemy is right.
For your info, the CBN gov had asked for detailed and comprehensive clarification and documentation of the movements of the cash and never alleged that someone has misappropriated the fund. Why can't we allow those concerned to come up with their own side of the transaction? After all the both the CBN gov and the Fin min are members of the NEMT.
The problem is that people are just unwilling to think for themselves and keep chewing on the pack of lies fed them by the APC. The attacks against GEJ are obviously well coordinated but people like me are sitting back and watching to see what becomes of it. The day we hear the words 'impeachment' or 'coup', that day we'll be interested.

You didnt sound 'critical', no not at all you only sounded terribly aloof and unforgivably ignorant. Go gather some facts and maybe you can have a real discussion and in the process, get yourself adequately informed.

By the time this is over...the Ibos would realized that GEJ has only deepened the pecuniary interest of some individual Ibos and not their collective interest as a tribe.

How much would it really cost to construct a 2nd River Niger bridge?
Everywhere you turn stinks of crass ignorance and downright stupidity under the APC opposition. The congregation of Animals willing to do and say anything to get into power have decided to saturate the air with petty and ridiculous lies while relying on ethnic and racial hatred as a tool of political dominance. Make no mistake about, this is Africas Nazi party in the making. God help us all.

Politics4 Things We've Learnt From The Nigerian Polity In 4 Months by wesley80(op): 11:40am On Dec 10, 2013
1) An APC – led FG would be a no – nonsense government. Whether that would portend well for the country remains to be seen but on the evidence of what we’ve seen, the ordinary man (not the criminals just yet) should be very very worried. Evidence abound, chances are that the states you know where Okada got banned with zero provision or consideration for riders were APC states, in Edo State, they got just 7 days to pack and get lost. From Uncle Aregbesola kicking out poor farmers out of their lands for his phantom agric revolution project to the numerous cries of Lagosians from Epe to Makoko waterfront to Lekki (Once upon a time we resisted a tollgate) and even in faraway Onitsha bridgehead and to the most recent widow with the issue of goods who despite wiping the Masters feet with her tears was still like all the others asked to ‘Go and Die’. Brace yourselves Nigerians, this one mustn’t take us by surprise.

4) Always Do The Needful By Covering Your Backside. ‘Reasonable doubt’ is what it’s called and as long as that doubt has been planted in the heart of a jury, you can get away with murder ala Amanda Knox, OJ Simpson, George Zimmerman et al. It doesn’t matter the strength or number of the mob outside baying for blood, no independent jury can issue a conviction so long as that element of reasonable doubt remains undispelled. It’s difficult to tell what was on the mind of Madam Stella as She penned those three words that has left prosecutors and her accusers scratching their heads but you have to agree that it was a smart cover–your–ass coinage that seems to have set a dangerous precedence – that’s assuming She didn’t pen those words totally oblivious of its implications. In any case, the jury's still out on this one but the message I believe, is pretty clear.

2)The Opposition Will Win Any Electronically Staged Contest. Be it an e-poll or an e-election, as long as it is conducted electronically, the opposition are sure to win by a landslide. It has been proven again and again and again and probably will continue to be proven afterall there are no choking ‘Fresh Air’s’ online neither can there be missing ballot boxes and most certainly, no bags of salt to be shared. However, there’s just one caveat; Never use those compromised PDP Kamfuters (apologies to Buhari).
It’s a good thing the PDP have been paying close attention and studying trends therefor, Fellow Nigerians I’m very pleased to announce to you that due to the high level of misrepresentation associated with the electronic system in our beloved country, any plans be it in the pipeline or out of it to adopt the e – voting system are hereby - In Abachas voice – Susfended with immediate effect in our collective interest. May God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

3) A trade union with a President called FAGge presiding over an association called ASSu could only have meant BIG TROUBLE in little Naija! (If you understood that first time, you’re a confirmed Pervert). Needless to say, Nigerian students were destined to get SCREWED!
