I think the wording of the bill is flawed.

Indigineship rights is a bit too strong because no matter how long you reside in an area that is not your ancestral home, you cannot be an Indigenous person.

However, the expansion of residency rights is a good move if properly presented.

you don't understand politics. In Nigeria, councilor elections are often rigged, and votes rarely count. Without Wike as governor of Rivers State, Tinubu wouldn't have won there. As Wike's former accountant general, Sims has the influence to deliver more than five councilors if he chooses. In Nigeria politics, money and litigation skills matter more than popularity. If not, PDP/APC would have lost Rivers State to LP.
