Gurus in the house I need help. I drive a 2008 accord. I just noticed once I hit 140 especially on 3rd mainland bridge... the car starts making grunt like sounds... but if lay off the pedal and it goes back to 100 or 120. The sound stops. Please what could be wrong?

Erm... I normally use Oando synthetic motor oil for my Honda Accord 2008. But recently I looked for it and couldn't get it so I opted for Total quartz 7000 synthetic oil. Please from the pros in the house... Did I make the right choice?

Hey folks! For the fashionistas and red carpet lovers, i have a got a real treat for y’all. I got free tickets to witness this year’ LAGOS FASHION & DESIGN SHOW at the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos courtesy of Fayrouz Nigeria.So here’s the deal… i kinda got to the venue super early (way too early). The show was slated to start by 5pm… but i had to pick up my ticket at the venue and i was of course afraid of Lagos traffic.

Anyways i got to the spot at about 3pm ish and i discovered that the event had two separate centers. One was for the main event meant to kick off by 5pm and the other was were the sponsors of the event had their stands e.g fayrouz, GTB, Maybelline and the fashion designers themselves. I got to see loads of models before they got all glam(ed) for the show. On the real, them girls are skinny though!

I have admit though, i was really impressed with the make shift bar that fayrouz Nigeria had set up at the venue. Although the promises of delivering fayrouz infused cocktail drinks was a myth… ’cause we all got served with just plain fayrouz with ice and well… as for alcohol… we got served plain ol’ Heineken.

Before the main event started, i decided to play with time by taking a look at the stands of each sponsor and participants alike. I pretty much like the arrangement of each stand and the DJ picked the right songs to play. Dude played lovable hits from the 90s… really posh.

But, mehnnnn… the place was super frigging cold. I can’t count the amount of times i had to step out so God’s own sunshine could heat up my bod.LOL

Anyways… it was almost about that time for the main event to start… so i decided to move to the other venue. I got to see peeps get photographed, photogs were all over the place. Models were getting pictured, peeps were getting interviewed by either Spice TV or Ndani Tv.

I should be asleep right now, but mind just keeps going back and forth on recent Superhero movies i have seen. There's so much artistic and computer generated ideas embedded in this movies that i sometimes find my brain absorbing the visual information from each new entry in Hollywood’s format of choice, processing it through senses, cataloging it in memory banks, and more often than not, hitting the mental equivalent of the “spinning pinwheel of death.”

Now don't get me wrong, the problem is not with the comic books or the story line they deliver. The problem is sameness... particularly with Marvel movies. When i watch their movies...no matter how fantastic they seem, there's always this visual deja vu.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier marks the ninth film in Marvel’s self-contained Cinematic Universe and the beginning of a glut of 2014 comic book movies, including The Amazing Spider-Man 2, X-Men: Days of Future Past, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Between Disney, Fox, and Sony, Marvel properties claim release calendar dates through 2018. That’s not including TV shows, Marvel’s Netflix mini-series, and whatever Warner Bros. is cooking with for its own DC superheros. If you are a villain and you thought there were too many superpowered crime fighters now… well, you’re doomed.

I would categorize myself as the kid who grew up on comics, cartoons, lost his mind over the ’90s Batman movies, was first in line for X-Men and still defends Superman Returns. I fall hook, line, and sinker for each new superhero movie, even when the buzz is deafening.

So why are these movies that I’m wired to enjoy on some level leaving me nauseous and fuzzy?

Over 4 minutes of “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” was shown at the just concluded SDCC show.

Here’s a breakdown of what we saw:

The clip opens with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Hawkeye and Rhodey throwing back some drinks in what looks like a newly refurbished Stark Tower.

The entire group then decides to see if they can lift Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer. First up is Tony, who can’t lift it, even with the help of his Iron Man arm and Rhodey. Hawkeye and Bruce don’t fare any better — though maybe if Banner had gone green, he’d have more luck.

Cap gets the closest, only slightly moving it. While he doesn’t get close to actually lifting the god’s weapon of choice, it’s clear Thor is a little nervous when he sees if shift.

Black Widow knows better and opts out entirely.

It’s pretty late where I’m at… so i need to get some manly sleep after i type this post. Anyways, a friend of mine sent me this track to get my opinion on it. The song in question is called “When The Wind Blows” by our Naija brother in Yankee, Townkrier.

Townkrier features songstress, Tracy on the hook. Honestly, when i pressed the play button on this track… i didn’t know what to expect. The song starts of pretty nice with Tracy’s Yankee accent laying some nice melody. But as soon as Townkrier takes over with his rap lines… i was like “NOOOO!!!”

Dude’s lines were just way off! For Pete’s sake i thought i was transported to 1991 when Nigerians were trying be fly by rapping with an Igbo accent. Townkrier’s lines felt like my 11-year old cousin rapping. Not even the Dallas vocalist, Tracy could save this song from Townkrier’s decimation.

I really couldn’t contain myself when he used Yankee slangs like “Imma” or “I put in work“. The killer for me was when he said “They never experredit”. I was like

I just watched the leaked pilot episode of The Flash. The episode leaked its way online, months before it’s October release date. I can honestly say this is one of the best superhero pilot episode to date, which could change soon after the release of the hoard of oncoming superhero series coming our way in the next few years.

REVIEW

As pilots go, this one showed quite a bit of promise, and it’s easy to see why the CW picked it up. First and foremost, the pilot episode felt so well done that you could launch the episode by itself and call it an hour-long Flash movie. The approach towards the series seems to feel that way now: a movie with plans for more sequels than you can imagine. That is a very good feeling. If i was to summarize this episode i would put it like this

Barry Allen watched his mom’s murder, becomes a crime scene investigator, establishes the perfect soap opera love life issues, gets struck by lightning, goes into a coma for 9 months, becomes a superhero, clears his fathers name, stops a weather-controlling villain, and dons his costume, all complete with the series’ own version of a post-credits scene.

Possibly one of the coolest parts about the pilot was that the first half of it was told as a story with Barry Allen narrating his own story, which turned out to be a story he was telling to none other than Green Arrow… (yes people our good ol’ Arrow makes a cameo appearance in this episode). Barry declares that he named himself after a phrase Oliver Queen used on their story scene on the rooftop: something like “You’ll be saving people in a flash” which felt a little forced, but nothing some action couldn’t fix.

Just a few moments after killing it at the BET Awards, Chris Brown has decided to unleash “New Flame” on the public. He had released an earlier version of this song a few months back. I wasn’t really feeling it at the time. On this new release Breezy teams up with Veteran singer Usher and rapper Rick Ross.

Even though the beat sounds lazy… it still has that groovy feel to it. Chris’s verse was alright… nothing new though. He hits the notes with perfect ease. But the star for me on this here track was Usher. Dude killed it. He brought so much melody with his voice.

As for Rozay’s rap… I’ll have to pass on that. Dude flat lined on this song. His lines didn’t pack a punch. His lines are easily forgettable. Anyways, the new single is slated to appear on Brown’s upcoming X album. This is the first taste of new music we have heard from Breezy since his release from jail.

Is “New Flame” as hot as its title may suggest?

The movie starts out by showing us that it wasn’t a volcano eruption that killed the dianosours but actually a group of robots who detonated a bomb on Earth. From there the movie moves on to the feisty-yet-innocent (human) hero is Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), a single dad and the unsuccessful inventor of such ill-conceived contraptions as the “Butler Bot,” a souped-up charcoal smoker that utterly fails in its appointed task of delivering beers. Cade lives with his 17-year-old daughter, Tessa (Nicola Peltz), on a farm in Paris, Texas, that is perpetually on the verge of being seized by creditors. One day, Cade and his friend/employee Lucas (T.J. Miller) discover a dilapidated old truck in an abandoned movie theater and decide to bring it back to the barn.
