I am a full grown adult! I am not in the military however i know that the aim of the military is not to KILL! The aim is different, depends on what is needed. Killing is usually required to achieve their aim, however, it is a means of their real goal! So when the military do a show of power, the aim is to intimidate opponents to not even try anything.

The training given to officer is to ensure they use men and material to achieve the goal they were given.
