Hey guys, It's been a minute. Again, apologies for not updating frequently. Like I said earlier, I only want to give out content that's new or that helps in anyway either by giving you insight of what life is like here or what to expect for those coming. Sadly, I haven't been able to do much of that compared to when I just arrived as I work work work and then this year's TET wasn't a fun one due to Covid-19 so I couldn't go out or take pictures. Anyways, everything is under control now and schools are back on. Yayyyy. I'll be resuming on Monday. So today, I visited another province 3 hours from mine and used the sleeper bus. See pictures attached. Here's what my experience was like.... The journey to the province was amazing. We were just about 10 or so even though we left by 8am and the bus could take maybe 40 people. The seat/bed was sooo comfortable with enoughhhh leg space and options to comfortable recline or adjust your seat/bed however you want. There's AC and WiFi and blankets are provided. You also take off your shoes when you go in and you're given a nylon to put them. We had a brief stop one hour into the journey and when stepping out of the bus, slippers are provided so you don't need to put your shoes back on again.. I slept very well. Haha. The journey back though wasn't so amazing for one sole reason. The bus was fiull. The only vacant seat/bed was Infront and I wast comfortable so the moment someone from the back alighted, I took the space and big mistake....foul odour. I jejely went back to my previous space. This is my first experience though. Probably some people there had some BO issues or maybe that's the way it is when the bus is full but I doubt cos only that area had that foul odour. In order news, I've started my quest on finding side hustles one can do here apart from teaching. I already have one but hey, I gat Igbo blood Did you know bone straight hair comes from Vietnam . Let me know if you're into that let's do business. Someone asked about school and visa. I still don't know how schooling and visa works here. I only know about working and visas. To those "waiting" for it to get "better" ....well, while it's good to have hope, I'd advise you either take your time and think fast or while thinking, have options b and c because as long as Covid-19 is around, there's no getting better. I've watched visa prices increase with 100usd, then 500 USD, then more than 1000 USD thanks to the rules the government keeps dishing out. As if that's not enough, IELTS will soon follow so make hay if you've really thought about it and you feel Vietnam is the place for you. This changes are also good for us here already as compared to the stupid 800 USD per month they were offering our African brethrens, it's now 1200. It's still poor to me but very okay for a beginner. Hopefully, I can give more frequent updates. It may help if there's a particular topic or there are pictures of particular things you want to see. Then I can work on that. Peace 12 Likes

Joohan: 9k!!!!! wawu. I've seen 4k but not 9k and even 4k is a reap off. You can get all that sorted out for less. I've been good and bored jare. Schools are closed for the rest of February and may extend till next month or even April. New cases are cropping up everyday and it seems this time, it is a bit harder to control because they haven't traced the source of the first contact and then the wedding attendees traveled back to their abode before the first case was detected. We would be going back to teach online soon |

SpeciallyUnique: SpeciallyUnique: There is no surge in the numbers and only the originating province and neighbouring towns or specific areas were put on 21 DAYS lockdown starting January 28 Since the new cases which started on the 28th of January,, a total of 375 people have been infected in THE WHOLE COUNTRY. That is hardly regarded as a surge. Since the pandemic started, only a total of 1967 people have been infected with 35 deaths. Again, this can hardly be called a surge. Asides schools closing early, everything remains normal of course with wearing of masks and implementation of safety health measures Nicoswit: Vietnamese were the first friends I had before any other nationality. No I don't get bored. I speak English daily. There are actually Vietnamese people who speak some conversational level English here. Also, there are OTHER foreigners here so... 1 Like |

SpeciallyUnique: It's too early to say but I'll say no I don't think it will happen. The government has already swung into action. So far, all the people who were in contact with the infected have been rounded up. Tests, quarantine and sanitisation have been done. Only one town is on partial lockdown. Social distancing has started in the affected provinces and for others, we have started wearing mask again. We never really stopped though cos this country wore masks in public even before Covid-19 so they are used to wearing mask. Only difference is now, even if you're going to the supermarket or using the elevator, you wear mask, use hand sanitizer and your temperature is checked 2 Likes |

Reddington: They are actually smaller than tangerine. These ones are small like the tomatoes you can just put in your mouth and chew. They are just a little bigger than grapes. About updates... nothing really is going on that's why I update only when there's news or I visit somewhere new or something. 1 Like |

As we get ready for the TET celebration and holiday, sadly, new cases have emerged totally 100 in just 2 days. This isn't good as stricter measures are now being put in place which includes 21 days quarantine instead of 14 days for those infected. Already, visa prices had skyrocketed. With this new development, especially the increased quarantine days, prices are sure to go even higher if they even continue to issue visas. My advice to anyone who is currently processing anything is to hold on for now as things aren't looking good. Let's hope as usual, they contain this as they have done in the past Picture: Kumquat tree and Pomelo. So basically, these fruits are symbolic to TET and families buy the tree, big or small and keep in their houses ahead of the celebration. Other symbolic things are paper money popularly called lucky money. They believe getting and burning it brings good luck and wealthy for the new year. There's also the peach and apricot blossom flowers and something called first footer. The first footer to your house must be a male and someone you invited . They believe this also brings good luck and all that Then there's Chung Cake. I'll try my best to take lots of pictures....if there's no lockdown. Chao 6 Likes 2 Shares

YEAEMEDIA: THEY REFUSED TO HELP US WITH THEIR AGENT Really??!!!!! I'm tired of all this STUPID and MEDIOCRE comments about giving out agent's contact. I swear Nigerians prefer people who lie to them and dupe them!!! I'm so pissed off and not just at this comment but others who inbox me trying to guilt trip me into giving out contact. Talking about how we rise by lifting others and even bringing God into the matter. Y'all think you are wise but you don't know shit! I can easily team up with someone or get a new line and tell you that's the agent's contact. THEN WHAT!!!!! @Palazo, I said I'll tell you something after I refund your money but never found the time. I'll just write it here now. The fucking dude actually ATE YOUR money! The same agent people like yeaemedia want me to connect them too. I know what it took me and how I was able to get that money back. Even at that, there are still issues I'm trying to resolve now and even found out that that guy has committed a lot of atrocities and put people in trouble here. I REPEAT, NO! I'M NOT GIVING ANYONE ANY AGENT'S CONTACT Use your hand and waka your waka and pray to your GOD. And no, even if you inbox me and say you will take whatever comes your way, no be for my hand e go happen, use that mind and find agent by yourself. Gush! Why is it so hard to understand For almost a year, I've been saying no because I've seen and heard things, yet you people don't want to understand. It wouldn't take anything for me to pose as the agent who did my visa so everyone will just rest @yeaemedia, BE GUIDED 15 Likes |
