In sane countries, most murder cases aren’t swept under the rug but in Nigeria, everybody moves on in the next couple of days like it’s a dog that died. Human life is worth next to nothing in this part of the world. He was talking about murder but you had to drift off to natural disasters and accidents. Even talking about these natural disasters and accidents, are you comparing both world’s responses to them? in Nigeria, millions of people have lost their lives to poor or complete lack of emergency treatment service (ambulances) in their most vulnerable states. True, people die everywhere but it’s the reactions of the authorities to deaths that make the difference. Will you rather die like a dog, with your killer roaming about, knowing fully well that you will never get justice because our security operatives are inept or would you rather have your death heavily investigated with the killer knowing fully well that he’s also done for? That’s what makes all the difference my friend. In sane countries, the killers know they are going to be caught and that no amount of money will save or help them evade justice and this singular fact acts as a great deterrent.
In short, most murder cases in sane societies are indirect suicides for most killers because they know they are most probably also going to be killed, that’s enough justice
