jonnywalker: hi pals,i'm posting this to invite ideas from the gurus n anyone with experience.pls i've got my visa but unfortunately the agents who played for me had collected my passport n sealed envelope requesting 7000dollars before givin it back.when they first called to notify me of winning,my family told them we don't have money but they said we could make two\third payment n go to court to sign agreement to pay the rest within a year after visa .they paid all the processin fees tellin me that i will pay it in addition to the 7000.they've collected my visa now,we went to plead with 2500dollars but they refused.they denied sayin the part payment.now i don't have any other source to get money for them.i wanted a peaceful negotiating but it seem they are not ready.i'm asking if there's any other option i can get my package back.please temmy, gentiger n everyone with experience can help.thanks

Bro, Its quiet unfortunate that you are a victim of circumstance. Firstly, DV lottery is open to everyone and I don't think people should still consult agents for anything at all so as to avoid this kind of issue. They should know that $7,000 is too much for you as you could not even afford to pay for medic and co. Now, the fact that they denied collection of part payment I think you should act fast before its too late. They have no right under law to have your sensitive document like international passport, medical reports and police cert that contains your finger prints and I assure you that they will be in big problem if they should appear in court. My suggestion is that try to seek advice from legal practitioner maybe to enter another negotiation with their lawyer too because US Embassy do not authorize any agent to process visa. They are also stupid because you were the one that appeared for your interview and what of if you've failed the interview? You have really done a very good job because you won the visa yourself, they had done nothing but assist. What of a family that spent more than $3000 and they were not issued the visa. Go to God in prayer so that they collect $2500 because they already have the gain.

Finally, this is a forum I think its better you let us know their location so as to serve as lesson for others. I hate anything like agent even non of my family members knew I won Visa for myself, my wife and my daughter not until I picked our Visas at collection centre.I beg the whole house to assist in prayer and I believe God will answer us. One love kiss

Leader600: Hello peeps, i want to ask, if during your interview and the CO ask what have u be doing after graduation from university, n your response is a private -home teacher, will it be welcome by the interviewer/CO. Please, for those with the experience i nid your help!

Just try and prepare as if you want to meet CO at window 16, take it slowly I'm not scaring you because she's not your creator that gave you the chance. Please be transparent and have confidence provided that the year you finish your service is not too long. The more you have things to hide, the more you have things to be afraid of.

You can explain to the CO that after your service year while you're applying for job, you have engaged yourself in private home coaching and still hoping for you to be called at the places you have applied as ...... (maybe system analyst, project manager and what have you).

Note: There's labour law against jobless and I pray it shall never be your portion, you are a treasure you can sell yourself with confidence because that's the zeal they want to see in you. America needs people that are ready to boost it's economy and help lazy ones (American)that do not want to work so that they also engage themselves.

Pray for divine favour of God as your interview day approaches and come here for your successful interview testimony.

SECRET ABOUT CO AT WINDOW 16

Honestly, she's not wicked she is doing what has to be done due to her nature. You are the one that will decide how you want her to treat you. Moreover, if God say it's your time no one can stop Him. I did my interview in her window and God gave me divine favour. Let everyone that has his or her interview prepare for this lady and if at the end shes not the one just believe that there's no question others can ask you that can move your ground because she's the only one that questions people too much. Note that, she's reasoning, hi IQ, distinct etc. Please don't expect 3 questions from her like others.

------ If you have any doubtful case like date of birth on certificate, your question starts from there
------ If combine two GCE results, you will explain to her why your WAEC is not with you but make sure you have testimonial from your sec school.
------ She is very funny and might even ask you the name of your principal
------ She likes looking at WAEC results, prepare for any of your favourite subject. Hint> If you are a science student i suggest you take physics or chemistry because she doesn't know anything in physics but make sure you know at least 2 topics which you will mention by yourself. She cannot just ask you any topic.
------ If you don't pass a subject please don't tell her that subject is your favourite one if you don't want her trouble grin
------ O'level is very important to her though she didn't ask me much on it because I drove her out of her thought wink She didn't know much about my favourite subject.
------ If your favourite subject is Maths, please expect "what is" e.g what is inequalities, simultaneous eq, probabilities, quadratic, trigonomery and so on.
------ If you're still in school, she will ask you what you're doing there presently maybe your courses. Note: Don't tell her about course you don't know well because that's where she will like to make you tumble especially if she has come across the course before . Pls bear 2 names of your lecturers in mind.
------ If you're a graduate, you must know some courses you did last in school and prepare to talk on the one that relates to your career
------ If your're serving, prepare for the subject you're teaching your pupils and some topics, the date you will finish your service e.t.c
------ If you're working, prepare to tell her your roles or duties at work and the benefit of your job in United States of America.
------ If you're married, prepare to tell her when and where you met your hubby and make sure there's no error in your cert and put those dates in your head. The type of marriage and the name of the church if celebrated in the church. Other questions may be asked if she's doubting your marriage but prepared. Your wedding pictures must be arranged in your album from courtship to wedding.
------ If you have kid(s) prepare to tell her where and when they were born.
------ Make sure you look straight into her eyes until she's no more comfortable angry she gives up when such people come to her window.
------ Just put on simple dress she doesn't move if you put on long or short tie, expensive jacket, gold and other things but simple outfit is okay that can make you comfortable yourself. Pls dont wear something that has stickers, emblems e.t.c.
------ She jots down your answers to her questions please be mindful of what you tell her because she might repeat 1 question several times.
------ Dont tell her what you cannot defend.
------ Pray for divine favour and God's mercy before her and other Cos
------ Thats all I know about her so far.

=======IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION ABOUT YOUR CASE YOU CAN CONTACT THEIR CORRESPONDENCE UNIT BECAUSE IT REALLY HELPED ME. LagosIV@state.gov Dont attach any scan doc so as to avoid delivery error.

If you can take note of the above questions and precautions you're good to go cool and you can face any CO in any window. Note that your answers bring out questions, don't say what you cannot defend.
JUST BELIEVE IN YOUR CREATOR AND PRAY EVERYDAY AS YOUR DAY APPROACHES. I WISH YOU SUCCESSFUL INTERVIEW STORY FROM CO @ WINDOW 16 cheesy kiss

Hello house, my suggestion for those that having serious issue is to contact the embassy handling their cases via E-mail. I am very sure they will surely help you out without any stress because that's why they are there. When I filled my DS-230 form my wife was pregnant and I wrote a letter in my own hand writing stated that we might appear more than two during our interview and send a copy of my wife's pix in her pregnancy state. I followed it up when my child was born and notified the US embassy in Nigeria, the correspondence unit replied that I should download attached copy of form DS-230 for my daughter and Im free to appear with her.

Surprisingly, when I was called @ the window to submit my docs the lady smiled and told me I did well my notifying KCC in the first place. She returned my wife pix which was sealed in a static nylon and packaged well and same thing with my letter.

@Nuru please contact the embassy via email and explain yourself but make sure you print out the reply from their corresponding unit and take it along with you to your interview.

May God almighty direct our paths and we shall not fail.

Thanks all.

HERE IS MY INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE.
I got to the embassy with my wife and my 24days old baby girl around 5:50am. We were called to line up @ 6:30am for security checks, the security too much here ooo my people...well, we have said prayers as if heaven wan fall. We got to the main building where interview takes place. I was given a number that would be called @ designated window though I firstly paid $990 for three of us. I was called @ window 13 to submit our documents and surprisingly; the lady gave me a warm smile when she saw the correspondence that I wrote to the KCC when I submitted my DS 230 form. I explained in the letter that my wife was pregnant and we could appear more than two during the interview I also included the shot of my wife during pregnancy grin grin She returned my letter and the picture and asked me to go back and wait for my number to be called for proper interview. Sorry for the story so far....I was called at window 16 where the white consular there just denied the first person that just left her window, yeeehhhh!!! shocked the fear first catch me.

Me: Good morning
Co: Morning thanks
[I started to be brave because she's a woman and I'm a man]
Co: Do you swear to say the truth?
Me: Yes I will
Co: Finger print pls
Me&My wife: [finger print done]
Co: How old is your baby? [turned to my wife]
My wife: 24days i.e 3weeks 2days
Co: Please go and sit down with your baby

Co: pls repeat that
Me: Repeated

Me: I mentioned
Co: You said micro processor applications, and you studied telecoms how did that relate?
Me: I explained but she was lost my technical terms
Co: Tell me another course
Me: Electrical Drafting and Design
Co: Whats the relationship between that and telecommunication?
Me: I started and she was unable to look straight into my eyes again and by that time she started typing something on her computer
Co: You submitted 2 results and y?
Me: I had pass in my English by the time I was given admission but the requirements have changed now because I needed another result for my Post Graduate Studies.
Co: Whats your favourite subject?
Me: Physics
Co: Why physics when you did not have best grade in it?
***I MUTED; WHATS HER OWN NOW*** I replied with boldness
Me: I like practicals and I did well in my practicals but unfortunately, Practicals do not carry marks above 40
Co: how many times in a week do you offer physics in your secondary school?
Me: 3 time, Monday Wed and practical on Friday

Co: Your school must be a religious school
Me: Thats not correct, Its a community school but the name just sounds Islamic
Co: Did your wife give birth in govt hospital?
Me: No, midwife clinic
Co: why?
Me: My house too far from general hospital and she was having contraction by that night and I tried to avoid any risk.
Co: Did she go tru long labour?
Me: I rushed back to get some things I was asked to bring......
SHE WANTED TO STAY LONG ON THAT QUESTION AND I CAME IN
Me: Our naming pix are here with our wedding album
Co: Let me see them
I FLIPPED FOR HER TO SEE BUT SHE WAS NOT CONCENTRATING AGAIN
Me: We have more of the pix that could not contain in the album
Co: Let me have them.... She collected them
Co: Who gave your baby the first name
Me: I did as a father
Co: Whats the name your mother in-law gave the baby?.......I forgot that one oooo
Me: My mother named her ******* she wrote it down as she has been writing some facts down about me. I looked @ what she wrote and I told her she was correct not knowing she didnt want me to see it before but I saw it all.
Co: I said your mother in-law***** she was unable to cover what she was hiding again
Me: She didnt name her before I printed the names out of my personal printer.
Co: You really tried, I will give you Visa
SHE CIRCLED AND ADDRESS AND ASKED ME TO PICK OUR VISAS THERE AND RETURN OTHER DOCUMENTS.

SHE DID NOT EVEN BORDER TO CALL MY WIFE AT ALL BECAUSE BY THAT TIME MY WIFE WAS SHIVERING ON HER SIT FOR THE LONG JOURNEY INTERVIEW. TO GOD BE THE GLORY I MADE IT.

MY ADVICE FOR THE REST OF PEOPLE IS THAT, YOU SHOULD HAVE COURAGE AND HAVE TRUST IN GOD. THESE PEOPLE ARE NOT DIFFICULT AS MANY PEOPLE DESCRIBED THEM WITH WHAT I WITNESSED.

THAT VISA BELONGS TO YOU, GO AND HAVE IT ITS YOUR RIGHT AND DO YOUR PAPERWORK VERY WELL OOOO. BIRTH CERT, O'LEVEL,MARRIAGE CERT IF MARRIED, MEDICALS, POLICE CERT, ID CARD IF YOURE ALREADY EMPLOYED ANY DOCUMENT THAT COULD HELP IN-CASE.

I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST..

@soye35 To my own level of understanding, kcc will not send you notification letter by mail you have to check your status from their official site that you use to check your entrant result. Your status is updated when you see schedule date for your interview. God bless you.

Hello! house I commend everyone for the tips and useful information. I have been following this post for long and I think it's high time I contributed. I need your suggestion for my case, I have my interview in last week of January 2013 and my wife is pregnant in fact seriously heavy now. The expected delivery date is first week in Jan. My question is this;
*Is it possible to do medical test for 2 weeks old child?
*Is it advisable that I reschedule the interview appointment?
I really need your suggestion pls.
