The owner of British sex doll company, Lovedoll, has revealed that he is giving his customers the chance to test the dolls in their brothel before they pay for the full service.

Sex dolls at the company are hired for £100 an hour, but clients will also have the benefit of getting a private space where they can test it for half an hour before they pay.

In a radio interview, the owner of Lovedoll who’s based in Gateshead, said he is running a ‘try before you buy’ scheme.



The businessman, named Graham, told Adrian Chiles on BBC Radio 5 Live:

“We’re hoping this is a test drive so that they would then go on to purchase one of our products. The aim of the game isn’t simply the use of the service.”

The service was launched last month, and he said that “a few” customers have already tried it out.

He said customers will pay £50 to have sex with one of his dolls for half an hour, before being offered the chance to buy it.

Company create Graham also said the sex doll being made available for ‘testing and inspection’ retails at £1,800, an adult size which weighs around 30 kilograms, with life-like skin on a metal skeleton and realistic sexual organs.

Graham admitted to BBC Radio 5 live that he has tested the sex dolls himself. “It would be crazy for me not to,” he said.

“Once you realise you’re performing an act with somebody or something that has no judgement of you whatsoever, that is quite a freedom and that’s a developing freedom that a lot of our customers experience.”

According to him, this is an experiment and has no idea if there’s a market for it, although his doll sales have been growing year-on-year.

He also stated that customer wanting to test drive one of the sex dolls must provide contact details and pay in advance.

They then visit a simple set-up in an industrial unit where a key code gains them entry to a small room containing a bed where the doll, wearing a negligee, awaits. He also admits that if customers provide false details it is possible to make return visits.

Adekunle Kosoko, aka Adekunle Gold, speaks with OLUSHOLA RICKETTS about his childhood, music career and other issues

Were you satisfied with the outcome of your show in December?

Yes, I thank God. We had the first two editions of the show, One Night Stand with Adekunle Gold and the 79th Element, in London and Dublin, last year. We then ended it in Nigeria. Organising a show in Nigeria can be difficult and I was worried, but everything turned out well at the end of the day.



Why do you like to sing about love?



I like love but I don’t make only love songs. If you listen to my debut album, Gold, there are six songs on it that have nothing to do with love. I see things daily and I sing about them. I like to sing about things that happen to people because the audience relates to those things easily.

Have you ever had a one-night stand before?

Even if I have had that experience, do you expect me to say it in an interview?

Do you get nude pictures on social media?

I get a lot of that from ladies and it is fun, I must confess. There was a time in my life that I tried to get attention from ladies, but it was hard. It is a different story now and I am enjoying every bit of it.

How have you been able to avoid scandals?

I am decent in anything I do. I am a smooth operator.



How does your girlfriend cope with the attention you get from the opposite sex?

She understands the nature of my job but sometimes, she asks questions. I like to keep my relationship away from the public. What if my girlfriend doesn’t want to be in the limelight? I think people like me because of my music, not because of what I do in my private moments.

Do you have plans to have a baby mama?

I don’t want that for myself. It will be a disgrace to my family if I have a child born out of wedlock. I can only speak for myself. I was not brought up that way.

What if you ‘mistakenly’ get a lady pregnant?

Why should such mistakes happen? There is a way you can protect yourself. I cannot have sex with a lady without using a condom. For me, it is just wise to do the right thing. I don’t want to find myself in any drama.

Are you under pressure from your parents to get married?

We have an agreement. We agreed that I should focus on my music career first before venturing into marriage.

Some people feel you didn’t give One Direction (an English-Irish pop group), credit for your hit song, Sade. Is that true?

Was that what people said? All the blogs that posted the story then said it was a cover of One Direction’s song. My problem with most Nigerians is that we don’t check facts before we conclude. I am not the type who copies people’s songs without giving them credit. I said it everywhere then that Sade was a cover of a song. To be honest, a lot of people in Nigeria didn’t know about One Direction until I released Sade. When they now discovered the song, they just concluded I stole the idea because of the similarity but I gave due credit to the group.

Sade was inspired by a girl who rejected you at a time. Did she later throw herself at you when fame came?

There was a lady I really liked in 2012 but she told me she was not ready for a relationship. I disturbed her for almost a year and it didn’t happen. I just felt I should sing about it in 2014. We never dated even when I became famous. When she rejected me, we were friends and we are still friends.

Why didn’t you press further after fame came?

Maybe by then, I was no longer interested in her. I think I got over her at some point. She has a boyfriend now.

Would you have loved to date her if she was still single?

I cannot really say. We had a conversation some time ago and I thanked her for rejecting me. If she had said yes and we had started dating, I would have been too comfortable and I may not have written Sade.

How did you handle the rejection?

I thought I wasn’t the kind of man she wanted. She is a pretty girl and I was just a random boy from Ikotun, Lagos. I felt perhaps, I needed to make money before she would agree to date me.

How would you describe your childhood experience?

Most people think I was raised in Bariga, Lagos, because I was signed to Olamide’s YBNL. I was actually raised in Ifako-Agege, before moving to Ikotun, both in Lagos.

Are you from a rich background?

I am from a very modest background. I attended public schools. My father is a principal while my mother is a teacher. I really enjoyed growing up in Ikotun and that was where I learnt most of the things I know. I later went to the Lagos State Polytechnic to study Arts.

Do you still practise graphic designing?

Yes, I design most of my works myself.

How come you didn’t follow the path of your parents who are in the educational sector?

My parents were indifferent about my decision to do music. My father wasn’t even interested at all. He used to warn me not to disturb him with noise, but I always knew what I wanted to become. When I told them I wanted to study arts, they didn’t object to it. My father is a graphic artist and a painter as well. I am the first child of my parents and the only son.

Who were your role models while growing up?

While growing up, I listened to Ebenezer Obey and Sunny Ade a lot. Both of them are my idols. They have done it all. They created sounds that were unique to them. KSA has set a model for others to follow. He is an amazing person and performer. Before I go for shows at times, I look at KSA’s pictures for inspiration.

Do you still have a cordial relationship with your former boss, Olamide?

If there are issues, he is one of the people I run to for help. I tell him my worries and we share ideas. I don’t have any problem with Olamide and he understands that too.

Is it true that he treated Kesh specially while you were at YBNL?

I don’t know about that; Olamide catered for us equally. There was no time I wanted to do a video that he didn’t give me money and he never wasted time.

What’s the clear difference between now and when you were signed to YBNL?

I have more responsibilities now, unlike when I had people who were supporting me. Then, I didn’t have to be the one attending to emails or certain things and it was less stressful for me. My present team is still small, but we are growing daily.

Has playing with a band changed your style of music?

My performance fee has increased because I now perform with a band. I should have taken such step earlier as I now see myself as a better artiste. I now avoid shows where I cannot play live music.

Do you rely on alcohol or any substance for inspiration?

What extra thing do you need to tell a story? I don’t need any support for me to go on stage and I have fun with my band. I also relate to people during performances and that has been helpful.

They said, youths are the future of a country, and yet our aged leaders are not ready to vacate their comfort zones, and we are not thinking of emerging the seat soon but we keep hoping and still our minds are not opened and we continue dancing to #shakushaku.

We’ve limited ourselves to the situation of this country and we keep managing, saying if there’s life, there’s hope, but our hopes are lost and our thinking organ is not active so we embraced the song and continue dancing to #shakushaku.

The lives of many youth is worth crying for, as situation and hardship had turned many to smokers, cultists and wanderers. Still, we refused to think instead, we continue dancing #shakushaku.

It is high time all youths wake up from their slumber and deep sleep and have a rethink.
Wake up and make good use of the opportunity you are having, focus on your future and do away with all negativities.

Stand up tall and work on your leadership goal.

SAY, ACT AND ACCOMPLISH your ambitions.

Refuse to be used. You have what it takes to be a leader.

Stop diverting your attention on unprofitable tasks.

Sometimes I do wonder if this OLAMIDE is an enemy to all youths, not only him but most of our artists.

Operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have arrested the leader of the gang that kidnapped two Americans and two Canadians in Kagarko, Kaduna State, last week.

The gang commander, Dogo Russia, was arrested on Wednesday by the IRT, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari.

The foreign nationals were kidnapped on Tuesday last week but rescued the following day.



The gang, however, killed the two mobile policemen attached to the foreigners.

Russia has confessed to the killing of the mobile policemen attached to the foreign nationals and their subsequent Kidnapping.

The IRT is expected to give an update on the arrests later.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, who is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, has accused President Buhari of not showing interest in the recent killings in Benue State.

While speaking when he received the Anglican Bishops of Niger Delta Province who visited him at the Government House Port Harcourt, Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, said that the lives of animals are treated better under the present President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

According to Premium Times, a Government House statement quoted Governor Wike to have said on Friday that the president was under pressure at ‘some point in the past’ to declare a state of emergency in the state.



“When I went to see the President, he told me that he was under pressure to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State,” the governor said, though he did not, however, mention when, and why, the president made the remark.

Governor Wike told the Anglican bishops that his state ceased to be the focus of the APC-controlled federal government because of “mass insecurity across the country”.

“Those things they planned to use in declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State fell on their own states and it became difficult to do so,” he said.

“When you sit and plot evil against Rivers State, you will not know peace. If they don’t apologise for plotting and executing evil against Rivers State, they will never know peace.”

The governor also accused President Buhari of not showing interest on the recent killing in Benue State, saying that in some other countries the president would have visited the area to assess the situation even if the lives lost were fewer in number.

“Human lives are not respected,” he said. “In fact, the lives of cows and chicken appear to be more important than human lives. This has nothing to do with politics. Let us not trivialise the catastrophy that has befallen Nigeria,” he added.

Wike who said that his state survived by the prayers of the clerics and the church, urged the church to show interest in the nation’s politics.

“If you don’t participate in what is happening through voting, the country will degenerate further. People should acquire their permanent voter’s card to enthrone the leadership they desire,” he said.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has dismissed the claim of Union Bank Plc to Flat 7B, Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The court described the bank as a busybody, just as it ordered the permanent forfeiture of the property to the Federal Government.



The flat attracted public attention in April last year when large sums of money – $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 (about N13bn) – were recovered from it.



The money, according to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, was stashed away in iron cabinets and “Ghana-must-go” bags in the apartment.

The anti-graft agency later traced the ownership of the apartment to Mrs. Folashade Oke, the wife of the suspended Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ayodele Oke.

It claimed that its investigations revealed that Folashade bought the properties with proceeds of fraud by her husband.
