I was shown the error message. Which translates to “This number is restricted for a sim swap”. |

dustmalik: Was this at a road side agent or a proper MTN connect store or a service center? This sounds like an access level issue. yes road side. Since the number is generated using the ODU serial number, there must be a restriction not to allow for a physical sim swap. This is to prevent using it in another device.. Maybe they will lift the restriction as time goes on. |

Unfaized: How's your performance so far with the MTN compared to Airtel? It's the best decision that i made. So far no complaints. |

I squeeze out time to swap the mtn ODU to physical sim. But unfortunately, the ODU number is restricted for a sim swap. So I couldn't do the swap to physical sim. |

NSEstudent: Now trying Nuvio. The app doesn't play torrentio when VPN is on. Most addons don’t allow VPN. I use paid torrentio on Nuvio, it works with vpn but slows down the internet speed. |

NSEstudent: Did you opt for the external Sim at the onset or they gave it voluntarily?
I would like to know if anyone swapped their esims and the external is working on routers like X25pro. I’m 100% sure that the eSIM can be converted to physical sim, but I can’t confirm if it will work on x25 pro airtel. I will create time out from work to do the conversion, just that I’m currently on band A and the MTN ODU power efficiency has been very impressive (unlike the Airtel ODU). |

There’s one unique thing about MTN ODU, the power consumption is same as X25 pro. I don’t know how they did that. I’m suspecting the simplicity of the indoor unit interface may contribute to that. |

Rokynwastar: Planning on getting the MTN ODU and I get some questions.
1. Does it only work in areas with MTN fibre available ( so I've heard ).?
2. Did the activation give you headache or it's just plug and play?
3. Is the esim convertible to physical sim like Airtel's.? 1. No, It gets it's network from nearby service mast. 2. Just register the ODU at their office and it doesn't take time. 3. Yes it is convertible, but I don't know if it's embedded on only mtn routers. |

Leetvilla: Na only me dey get issue with airtel for the past few days? Airtel issue is turn by turn. Most times, it’s location, other times it’s regional. But the fact is, no one will escape their downtime. Ever since I got Mtn ODU, I’ve never had a single downtime (1 week now and counting) |

Hullabaloon: MTN is strong in my area in Enugu but I don't have 5G. Should I still go for it? Abi make I stick with Airtel? For context, Airtel used to be horrible once it's 7pm but during this world cup it's been mostly excellent. So what do you recommend? If you have 4g+ on mtn, you are good to go. I have one of the best stable network on Airtel, but I always have downtime. My MTN ODU has been running for two days now without issues.. |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by williams85(m): 5:24pm On Jul 08 |
Unfaized: Airtel is notorious for being very unreliable. That's the reason people are going for mtn.
Mtn offers stability, and if they sustain this ODU campaign, they'll give Airtel a run for their money. Exactly my point. I lost two projects just because Airtel wanted to be unfortunate. MTN with its 5G has been stable in my area. Having a package like ODU is almost same as fiber x. |

olujosh301: Read what I said again and hope you odu sims are sold through backdoor? I have 3 Airtel odu's, mtn has to have something exceptional to make me switch. Why would I want to buy another device that offers nothing exceptional? like I said use the provider that serves ur purpose as for me, MTN is exactly what I need. |
Phones › Re: Airtel Unlimited Data Thread! Best Data Plan In 2024!! by williams85(m): 3:34pm On Jul 08 |
olujosh301: Once odu is unlockable, there wouldn't be need to be jumping wagon but if mtn provides 300mbps+ plan on their odu before then I would switch asap I don't agree with this, The sims are not sold separately, if you want to own them, you must buy the device. Just get the provider that serves you better. |
