Everyone should stick to the network that works fine for them. Saying MTN is selling their ODU limitedly to avoid conjection is a fat lie. Just Google the number of their subscribers and compare with other ISP.
Most people praise mtn cos they are getting value of what they paid for.

I see lots of people here full of praise for MTN ODU what you don't get is with time it'll degrade due to congestion from high number of subscriptions that's the same fate facing airtel now and the good thing is airtel is on a massive upgrade to tackle the congestion issue but mtn are they upgrading their masts rapidly as airtel, No that's why the odu is sold limitedly to manage congestion and speeds as for me I stick with airtel! and I even got the Huawei CPE MAX 6 which is a major upgrade over the zlt x17m which has served me well and gracefully for the last one year plus..

If you are streaming with your tv, just connect using Ethernet cable.

Did that yesterday but it didn’t really help. Funny part is that I’m getting 50Mbps but watching live match on IPTV keeps buffering. Please what more tweaks can I do on my Airtel ODU to boost its performance

So i got the mtn odu on Thursday and the installer didnt come since then till today. I went ahead and fixed it and everything works but i am unable to browse

You didn’t use your internet after 48hrs. So you need to register it again.

If Starlink works for you and you can afford it, congratulations 👏🏽. Nobody is stopping you. But stop acting like buying Starlink automatically makes your opinion superior.

you just said it all. All the people that I introduced to airtel ODU, I have dragged them to either Fiber x or Fly x( Na them know where them get this name).. So far, they are enjoying what they paid for.

Although , Airtel is very good in my area , never have any issue with it except one or twice throughout since last year , I want to try the mtn for trying sake , 1 if one retrieve the sim to physical sim , can it work in normal mtn router ?

You will need a Mifi or router that can change its imei number. The battery last averagely 6hrs and can work with Airtel battery too.

Peak 40mbps off-peak 50mbps latency both at peak and off-peak is between 25-40

Airtel need to upgrade their infrastructures if not, they will struggle to keep their customers. This is the second month of using MTN ODU and I have never called their CC, no single Issue in my area.

I used over 3TB on my first month and the 100mbps speed never reduced.

I don't really think that the Airtel ODU and the regular airtel data are on the same server or something.

Here's why I am saying that,if I subscribe to regular plan, I don't get the same speed I get with my ODU. I barely hit 15mbps on my phone (S22) with normal sim. But I do 50mbps consistently on the ODU.

A couple of days ago, my Airtel ODU was so bad. I was doing less than 1mbps download and 50mbps meanwhile I tested the network on a phone and it was working perfectly. This lasted for about two days and I had to chat them on Twitter which they responded almost immediately (unlike MTN) and told me they will fix it and they did.

Please, I'm not an expert so don't take my word as a rule. I'm just stating my personal experience with this Airtel

You are 100% correct when you said Airtel ODU server is not same as the normal subscription server. That is why I do laugh when some people here blame their ODU devices as the problem. If the server is not working, the ODU won't deliver.

The major reasons MTN introduced ODU is to compliment for those who doesn't have fiber x in their location and to compete with Airtel ODU.
If they make Fiber x unlimited i wonder why ODU won't be unlimited.

Do you have MTN ODU? I don't think so.
Allow people who have it to draw the conclusion.. MTN ODU has been around for months but the activation became active early last month, just like when i got mine(7th of last month).
Don't draw your conclusion based on rumors.

Why not upgrade your plan to 50mbps for 25k? The money used for this sub will get you ODU with change.

I know say them go eventually make it easier to get external sim or swap esim for it. I'm not alone in wanting something portable when on the move.

I called their cc today. They said the physical sim version is 4G while 5G is esim. That's unusual because that's the first time I heard that ODU has 4G only model.

Since the number is generated using the ODU serial number, there must be a restriction not to allow for a physical sim swap. This is to prevent using it in another device..
Maybe they will lift the restriction as time goes on.

It's the best decision that i made. So far no complaints.

I squeeze out time to swap the mtn ODU to physical sim. But unfortunately, the ODU number is restricted for a sim swap. So I couldn't do the swap to physical sim.

Most addons don’t allow VPN.
I use paid torrentio on Nuvio, it works with vpn but slows down the internet speed.

I would like to know if anyone swapped their esims and the external is working on routers like X25pro.

I’m 100% sure that the eSIM can be converted to physical sim, but I can’t confirm if it will work on x25 pro airtel.
I will create time out from work to do the conversion, just that I’m currently on band A and the MTN ODU power efficiency has been very impressive (unlike the Airtel ODU).
