As you have not stated fully the details of the altercation, it cannot be determined whether the mum's judgement was fair or not. The story is one-sided in the first place, and the mum is not such a monster to mistreat her daughter but wouldn't do same to her son. It simply doesn't add up. In the first place, why would an intern give instructions to company staffs? It doesn't make sense. She is the daughter of the owner, not the vice-president of the company. I would easily support the mother given the circumstances presented. And her allowance should be cut off if she decides not to resume. Such a spoilt child. |

When everybody talks at the same time, nobody really listens. |
There was almost no chemistry between Falz and Simi yesterday at the headies award when called upon to receive the award for Best Collabo. Both singers who recently got people talking with their intimate photoshoot session to mark the release of their joint single titled 'chemistry' could barely stare each other at the eye when on stage. |

As 15 Theatre Arts Students win all-expense paid trip, makeover sessions and a mentorship date with Genevieve Nnaji, courtesy of Amstel Malta. Nigeria’s leading low-sugar malt brand and official sponsor of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA), Amstel Malta, is set to reward fifteen Theatre Arts students across the country for their outstanding academic excellence with an all-expense paid trip to the AMVCAs, makeover sessions and an exclusive date with Genevieve Nnaji. According to Amstel Malta brand manager, Hannatu Ageni Yusuf, “The initiative came to life because the brand which has been the official sponsor of AMVCA since its inception in 2013, felt a need to encourage these Theatre Arts students who have done well in their academics and give them a tip of what to expect in their career paths”. These fifteen students: Bare Mitchel Uzuajeme, Jesse Bankole .O, Aribisala Ayobami, Kalu Nnamdi, Korie Priscaline, Obi Okoli, Ode Isaiah, Uniloh Fidelia, Mudiaga Praise, Isong Mfoniso Effiong, Okiriguo Princewill Ehis, Faith Ibarakumo, Mark Jonathan Tukura, Okuku Precious and Nduka Omeje were selected across five prestigious institutions in the country: University of Lagos, University of Nigeria Nsukka, University of Port Harcourt, University of Benin and University of Abuja. Kalu Nnamdi, a leading 400Level Theatre Arts student of the University of Nigeria Nsukka, expressed his delight at the invitation. He says, “This is such an amazing opportunity coming on a platter of gold. It really came to me as a huge surprise. I have seen Amstel Malta’s involvement in the movie industry for a long time now and it feels really good to be one of the beneficiaries this time. I’m really eager to meet with the other students in my field and most importantly the very talented Genevieve. Sincerely, I really can’t wait”, he said. In support of the fast growing Nollywood industry, which is currently the second biggest industry in the world, Amstel Malta will also be rewarding 4 award winners at the AMVCA with a million naira cash prize each: Best Male in a drama, Best Female in a drama, Best Movie- Drama and Overall Best Movie (Movie of the Year). “This is one of the many ways the brand hopes to support the industry and encourage people to be the best they can be in their fields. First of, we decided to award winners of four AMVCA categories with a million naira cash prize each but then we thought it important to encourage those who aspire to make such feats in the future. The selection was strictly based on their academic performances, which we think deserve some form of commendation and reward’’, Hannatu adds. The students will arrive Lagos later this week ahead of the AMVCAs. The Technical Awards will hold on Friday, March 6th at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre and the main award event the following day at the same venue. |
