BusinessRe: The Boy I Employed In My New Business Has Finished Me Within One Week by WinnerAkako: 8:14am On Oct 31, 2024
PeterObi4Presid:
Business is really hard in Nigeria if you are not there 247,
We are too wicked, greedy and dishonest.

Less than a week, I employed this boy o, to manage my gas filling retail business and POS.
He displayed passion, initiative and experience about the gas filling business and handling of POS....so I just took the chance, we also speak same language. I've been acting nice and all but I think I now know why most Nigerian bosses are mean to their workers by default
.
Now from first cylinder we couldn't account for 10kg
Second cylinder was started today by him......when I told him to calculate everything sold from first cylinder based on daily record book ....it felt short of 10kg
.
From the sales from second cylinder that started today, The account book does not tally with what is remitted through ATM/POS mode of payment .....I dint know this until I checked my Moniepoint acct as I got home now cos my phone was dead before I went to the shop this evening
.
Even the POS part of the business does not tally with the cash I gave him this morning for people who need cash withdrawal
.
I'm boiling right now realizing the boy had lied to me when balancing the account this night using the record book, only to get home and power my phone to see cash fell short of 23k in my monie point acct linked to the POS
.
.
How do you handle boys who think they are smarter than you because theyve been in the business before?
.
And what are your experiences with dishonest workers in your business , especially this gas retail business or POS business
.
Modoified: how do I handle this case now....cos my mind is just boiling ....how can a new business fall short of 38k in less than 7 days...

.
On the contrary, don't sack him. Simply tell him you know he has been stealing from you, also tell him the estimated amount. Tell him you've forgiven him for that, but if it happens again, you will have him arrested and he will pay back all the money.

This might work psychologically. It might prompt him to try to get in your good books and totally change.

Channah1:
cheesy. Maami, man must wack nau.

Oya bon-apetit grin.

My bruv, na really thinking out of the box o. If you see how long it took me to decide what to cook that will not dig a hole in my purse and still be nutritious eh..grin. Almost the whole day but it was worth it.

Thanks..
This is not nutritious o. Do you know how many calories you are consuming? 1 piece of indomie noodles is 370 calories. You cooked 3 pieces, that's 1,110 calories. Plus egg and others, that will be about 1,300 calories in just one meal. When your body can only process 2000 calories in a day, the rest will turn to fat.

You didn't mention what your startup is all about, what does it do? That's important.
