Covenant University has emerged as the number one institution in Nigeria and West Africa and number 13 in Africa, going by repositories ranking. This was disclosed in a press briefing on Friday by the vice-chancellor of the institution, Professor Charles Ayo. This followed the release of the latest ranking by a global organisation on Tuesday, February 10, and the latest repositories ranking which placed the university best in Nigeria, West Africa and 13th in the whole of Africa, trailing others like the University of Cape Town, Stellenbosche University, Cairo University, among others. “Let me quickly add that in the recently released repositories ranking, Covenant University emerged number 1 in Nigeria and West Africa and number 13 in Africa,” the vice-chancellor stated. “The ranking Webometrics is the largest academic ranking of higher education institutions- about 2500 institutions all over the world, based on web presence and impact. The factors being considered are impact, presence, openness and excellence,” he added. The vice-chancellor said the institution would not rest on it oars until it attain 10th in Africa and in the continent. While appreciating God for the grace on the institution, Ayo explained that when they came on board, the university was ranked 10th in Nigeria and about 100th in Africa. |

well I wouldn't have believed it if i were told by some individuals that there could be uninterrupted power supply for a day but i've Experienced it here in Enugu state for the past five days, it has saved me about 150 litres of fuel worth about 12,500 naira. How I wish this will continue for another one week, i wonder if this is just a political strategy or the rebirth of PHCN, which ever way sha, I1m just excited at it that the extra expenses for running one's business is being reduced. |
