Politics › Re: Why The Nigerian Police Is So Ineffective: A Policeman Narrates by Wiseandtrue(f): 12:29pm On Jul 01, 2016*. Modified: 1:07pm On Jul 01, 2016 |
surestakes: I do not believe there is any mature Nigerian that has not had an unpleasant encounter with the Nigerian police, "our friends in uniform". I remember when a friend of mine was jumped by some dudes in Lekki and after he was able to escape, decided to report the case to the police station at Maroko. According to his narrative, when he arrived at the counter he went on to state his case to the lady officer and after a while he noticed that all through the time that he was narrating his story, the police woman was concentrating on a tv show. "Madam, I am talking to you now. Didn't you hear what I just said?" to which she replied, "how much you get sef?". Na so my guy hand fall
Or is the story my wife told me of how the police pulled over a car with her and her cousins and after discovering that all their particulars were complete went further to ask for the receipt of their driver's licence. I could go on and on with various tales of how the police have disappointed and even surprised Nigerians in one way or the other. You can check the thread that is now on fp for more gists @ https://www.nairaland.com/2915957/nigeria-police-money-share-experience. Nigerian police buy their own uniform and shoes: As Nigerians this might sound normal but the truth is that it is very disheartening to imagine that the average Nigerian police officer purchases his own kits. According to my cousin, he arrested some guys and one of them happened to be a Ghanain. After they got to gisting, the guy asked him, "why do you all have on different shoes?". To which my cousin replied, "we all buy the shoes ourselves". The Ghanain told him that in Ghana the government supplies the police force with kits and you can never find them wearing different shoes.
Like I said, this might sound normal but it is absolutely shameful that the FG of the giant of Africa cannot afford to supply their staff with adequate kits due to the fact that some "ogas at the top" will rather use such funds to invest their pot bellies and bank accounts. Also, the fact that an average Joe/Segun/Nnamdi/Abu can just waltz into the market buy black material and have a tailor sew a "uniform" as well as get a pair of black shoes and "become" a police officer says a lot about the apparent lack of security in the country.
Nigerian police patrol teams maintain their "pick ups": By maintain, I mean they buy the fuel used running the vehicle
Nigerian police officers are not taken care of: He told me a story of how a colleague of his was shot and killed while responding to an armed robbery attack.
Nigerian police officers have monthly "targets" to reach:
The level of corruption in the police force beats the imagination: He also went on to tell me an incident of how high ranking police officers will take off...
So next time you are asked to "settle" for simply being a Nigerian using Nigerian roads, remember that one "oga at the top" is grateful for your deposits
Source: Na me write am All true no lies. Even a day old knows that there is a problem not just in Nigerian Police Force but virtually all establishment owned by the Government. The fault should not go to the FG alone but their HEADS. They have ridiculed the force. Their OGAs are so unprofessional, so uncultured. I mean how can you turn a police officer to a beggar, thieves because that is what they They ask for money when you don't give them they forcefully collect it by creating one problem or the other for you This is to be expected when you allow people who knows nothing about the force to be leaders base on sentiment @bolded should not be encouraged because if people are giving them this money willingly it becomes a habit. Why? It is not as if they don't pay them. Shame on their leaders they are not representing them well. Majority are after their own. |

Terrorists are persons who uses terrorism in the pursuit of political aims. "a terrorist organization" synonyms: bomber, arsonist, incendiary; gunman, assassin, desperado; hijacker; revolutionary, radical, guerrilla, urban guerrilla, subversive, anarchist, freedom fighter; rareinsurrectionist, insurrectionary hollaytan: Why are terrifying non- muslims not called terrorist or labelled with their faith? Has anyone ever called hitler or bush or israeli soldiers a terrorist?
quote author=Wiseandtrue post=47038093] Fine but a simple question for you Why are all terrorists Muslims nau As for me anyone within these definition should be labeled a terrorist However all eyes are on the Muslims because major terror carried out are mainly from Muslims or so they claim. If it is a religion of peace as we were taught then why shed so much blood Hitler Is not even within the category of the subject matter He is worst |

NEHLIVE: About three days ago, this Ghana actress Bibi Bright, released her new promo photos which were as good as being naked. Now, she has reawaken her fashion madness with her outfit to the 2016 Golden Movie Awards. The actress appeared in a sheer outfit, which looks like she’s wearing nothing beneath. Looks like she decided not to wear any underwear, drawing major attention with all eyes focused on her. She was later spotted kind of covering her ‘major frontal beneath thing’, but the purpose of this outfit looks to have been fulfilled as she got all the attention to last her for days! She’s very daring!
