Travel / Why Germany Is Your Best Study Option. by wiseking120(m): 10:03am On Feb 16, 2022
Germany is a country of higher learning. Germany has more high-ranking universities than you can find in any other country. As there are universities, there are countless courses and options to choose from. The recognition of the degrees is worldwide, and you are likely to get employment just in any country.

Germany is a beautiful country with a deep history, and the best part is the low cost of living. The people are enthusiasts with an ever-changing lifestyle, from the modern to the classic, urban to the rural! Their vibrant and dynamic lifestyle will get you to fall head over heels in love with the place.

This beautiful country is among the top destinations for students from other countries. Currently, there are over 357,000 students (international students) looking to get a degree in Germany. According to official statistics, the numbers are on the rise. Students from all over the world come every year to universities in Germany for higher learning.

Tuition Fees

Unlike in most places, German universities charge no tuition fees! Exceptional, isn’t it? Nowhere in the world can you get an offer like this. Certainly not when prices have gone up, and the living standard in most countries is beyond redemption. So it is no wonder most students come to study in this beautiful country.

A policy established in October 2014 stated that all non-indigenous students studying in a public university in Germany would be free from paying standard tuition fees. Instead, these students are to pay only administrative expenses such as student union fees, student contributions, and a public transport ticket which amount to around €250 per semester.

High Ranking Universities
According to 2018 statistics, the public institutions of higher education currently functioning in Germany are 429, and there are 106 universities. All of which are above global standards. Some rank among the world’s best universities. There is a high regard for these universities among international students because of the quality of education and experience, opportunities available to them while studying and after studying, and the safe environment.

German universities are highly recognized and accepted because of their excellence in teaching and research their long and rich tradition of higher learning. Aside from the traditional top-ranking universities, Germany has produced other universities ranking globally every year. Some high-ranking universities in Germany are the oldest in Europe.

Explore Europe’s Treasures on a student visa
As a European studying in Germany, you will receive the same treatment as a German citizen and EU\EFTA citizen regarding free entry; you will be free to study and work without additional permits. But if you are not a European or from Germany, you will need to apply and get a German study visa to study in Germany. You might not need this if it is a summer school language program where you will need a student visa that allows you in the country for more than 90 days.

It would help if you also had a residency permit to live and move around the country. This residency permit will also allow you into the whole Schengen area visa-free. With it, you can visit the countries within this area and have the time of your life within the time frame of your visa. You are to apply for a student visa immediately after receiving your letter of acceptance from the university of your choice, at least three months before your departure time.

After this, your documents are sent to the Immigration Office in the area where your chosen university is. Then, of course, it will go through chains of stages before issuance. For you to get a student visa, you must meet some requirements. For example, before your departure, you will have to inform the proper authorities if you are going on a permit.

So many Degree Courses
In addition to so many universities, Germany has a wide range of degree courses packaged to cover various interests. Germany is a very industrialized country and, as such, has put a lot of effort into Engineering universities. You can study many engineering courses, which are highly relevant in the country. There are many other programs offered in these universities, even leading courses like medicine and pharmacy.

The list of courses being offered in these universities is increasing by the day, new fields of study are developing. Therefore, whatever you wish to study, whether you want to study atoms or galaxies, you can get these course options in Germany, being taught by the most prestigious professionals in the area of study.

Global Recognition of Courses
The courses offered in these universities are up-to-date in their structure and how they are taught. These study programs are in such a way as to meet up with the most updated scientific developments in the world today. They prepare students to be able to face the world squarely with its challenges confidently. The curriculum is constantly being changed and upgraded to suit the world’s fast-developing technologies and find the most comprehensive methods in teaching and research.

So that at the end of the study program, you will obtain a degree certificate with global recognition and importance. People who will be needing your services will expect the highest commitment and hard work from you because they know the quality of education you have gone through in your years of study, which made them hire you. And they will respect you as well as entrust you with responsibilities.

Low Costs of Living
The cost of living, even if you are an international student, is relatively low if you are smart with your finances and can adjust one or two things. As with everywhere, prices in the urban areas are not as standard as in other places. The primary thing that wears down into your pocket is rent. There are, however, several options of housing available in Germany with varying costs. Mainly because of the accommodation location, some of them can be so expensive.

To reduce cost and make it even cheaper for you, you should find someone to share the room or apartment. That way, the person will contribute to the rent and reduce your costs. In addition, other things like food, transport, amenities and so on are very affordable.

Job Opportunities For International Students
According to German law, international students can work part-time for up to 20 hours a week or 120 full days in a year. An estimate of 60% of international students works part-time while undergoing a study program in Germany. So whether you have an already exciting certificate or not, you can find a job because there are many jobs available that you will find something to do almost immediately.

You can get a tutoring job, bartender, administrative staff, babysitter, etc. But, of course, you must find a part-time job while studying in Germany even if you don’t need the extra money for anything; remember that you may not have the opportunity to have a placement year as a part of a program. But the working experience you get from these jobs will increase your employability and teach you how to live a disciplined and independent life.

Your Prospects
The fact that you have a German university certificate is an enormous privilege. You will be highly respected and valued all over the world. German graduates have high employability in the global market. Once you have bagged that degree, many companies and firms with attractive offers will reach out to you. They trust you can deliver because you’ve just had the best education in Germany. And they believe that you can help grow their business.

Because people need their competence and expertise, graduates from German universities are among the highest-paid workers. Whether your field of study and the country you intend to work in after graduating, a German degree will help you get a better paid and perfect job.

Learn a New Language
Another benefit of studying in Germany is that you get to learn a new language. Learning to speak German is a bonus to your employability and a source of joy. Several reasons for learning German will be beneficial to you. Germany has a strong economy, and the German language is the most spoken native language in Europe.
Companies in Germany have the most extensive network of branches all over the globe. So if you learn German, you add another qualification and have them come to you and offer you a job. Also, German is extensively used to communicate globally, and you increase your chances of traveling and going to the places you desire to go.

Diverse Community
There are so many nationalities in Germany. Recently, German nationals have learned to live in peace and harmony with many foreigners. These foreigners came to Germany to work and live with their families. Also, you get to meet other people like you, who believe Germany can allow them to study. These people are from different places with different cultures, ideas, and unique concepts. You can make friends with these people from all over the globe and learn their customs and traditions.

Historical Heritage
Germany, as I mentioned earlier, has a long, rich history. People do not usually talk about Germany as before, mostly because people know less about this lovely place. Germany has contributed immensely to the essential stages of the world’s history. How nice will it be to use this opportunity and enlighten yourself on the history of this great country?

Hello everyone, please am new here. Can someone/anyone help me with german schools that offer mass communication related courses for masters programs, possibly the tuition free institutions. Thank you and God bless.

Mass Communication or related courses here in Germany are mostly 100% in the German Language for tuition-free universities. Nevertheless, you can get an admission slot in private universities but they are relatively expensive. How good is your German?

Congratulations in advance.

I hope u were able to give the guy that paid an agent some important information or rather refer him here.
Most people believe that only the visa agents can help them get visa, but the truth is that most visa agent don't have the accurate information for visa matters.

I pity him sha..

Its a pity a lot of people still don't know of this thread...i asked if he knows about nairaland and he was dumbfounded...He was really scattered today and i pitied him...he was forced to go home and Paulinus made mockery of him with the mopol men...

And for those planning to go for interview with cheap courier envelope... Pls think twice.. Go and buy the popular envelope everyone one is aware of...like DHL, FEDex ... If u bring cheap ones that is struggling to get name, Paulinus will use u and shine o.

After a long awaited interview, it finally happened today....

Lodged with some frnds at Hotel de campbel which happens to be very affordable(N3000) and well furnished..located at Marina which is just 10 minutes to the embassy.

We got to the embassy around 4:20am, waited for them to open the gate and as usual those business guys who are trying to open office on our heads were there deceiving those novice(thanks to nairaland and whatsapp groups for making us wise).

At 5am d gate was open and i became number 4 on the queue.. At around 6am the VOs started coming into the premises one after d other...

Immediately the VO with dreads walked into d premisses and greated, i shouted (blood of Jesus) i was gripped with fear of her sight.. And i started casting any thing that will lead me to her counter...At around 6:45am the Almighty Paulinus came in singing and praise God in his mother tongue(igbo language) and at sharp 7am, the numbers of applicants for student visa were already 45..he started calling us in.. First 5... I was so happy to be among the first 5... Oga paulinus as usual was feeling bossy and being strict trying to put fear on everyone...he asked the first 5 of us to put our appointment letter inside our passports..

After placing us on how to stand, he asked us to bring out our application form and signed declaration. As i was just about to search for my own, he just shouted as me and asked me to leave chained court and go to the queue for no just reason. I was now trying to beg and understand what mistake i have made to warrant such... The man asked me to go to the end of the line.... Me that was once number 4 became number 45.. I felt really bad.. While my frnds had entered..

At around 8am, the numbers on queue was 60...we all had to stand.. Gradually wen it was 12.30pm it got to my turn again.. I was checked in after arranging my documents according to Paulinus checklist... We still waited for about 2 hour again inside the main embassy and wen it finally got to my turn, Low ans behold met my worst fear(the VO on dreads).

She just bone her face... My heart started pounding cus i heard she gives Maths to BSc students.

VO: ur original documents and passport pls. (She checks my documents and shouted! Why
third class on ur first BSc? So u went to school to play abi?

Me: Ma its due to thhhh...VO cuts in
VO: save ur explanation cus i dont wanna hear any.. Pass me ur passport photo..(i gave her) come, this ur passport photo is terrible o. (Me i didnt just talk..for my mind i dey speak in tongues)....after biometric
VO: pls pick up the microphone on ur right hand side. why did u choose this course?
Me: i gave her my reasons as she was typing pretty fast..
VO: go on....
Me: i continued talking.
VO: (typing fast) wait. It's ok. Why not do this course in Nigeria?
Me: gave her reasons
VO: why germany
Me: i told her why...
VO: why not Uk or the US?
Me:Gave her my reasons..
VO: give me 7 facts about germany! And pls i dont want stories.. Real facts...

Me: told her all i can remember..
VO: tell me about the Bundesrat and Bundestag

Me: told her what i know
VO: who are the heads of the 2 legislatives

Me: sorry my i have no idea!
VO: (she looked at me frowning) u are supposed to know about Germany.

Me: sorry ma but Germany is a big country and am not supposed to learn everything within this short period of time. Apparently am still learning.

VO: very well den tell me what u know.

Me: i told her facts.
VO: interesting...were did u get ur facts from. Am just hearing this...ok mention the city States in germany

Me: Berlin hamburg and Bremen
VO: is that all?
Me: for the city States, yes!
VO: i can see ur brother is sponsoring ur education, what is his profession?

Me: i told her.
Vo: and his wife?
Me: told her.
VO: how many are u in ur family?
Me: told her
VO: how many of ur siblings are abroad aside your brother?
Me: told her.
VO: ok. How far have u gone in preparing for ur stay in Germany?

Me: i told her i already secured accomodation and showed her prove and i also showed her my one year medical health insurance
VO: oh u have even acquired a medical health.. Cool.(as she typed for a very long time)
that will be all for the interview but before u go, i would give u a test in mathematics. (At this point i was not myself anymore cus i dont know maths at all). Pls u have 10 mins to solve this 10 questions! Ur time starts now..

Me: I just tried my best and gave her back.

VO: that will be all for now... We will get to u via email in regards to ur application. U can go.

Pls note this* for those who haven't gone for interview, try to bring all ur complete documents and make 2 photocopies of each docs. Paulinus is not smiling in regards to a missing document. He chased some persons home and that was d end of their interview..
Those using agent pls know know that u are on ur own during the interview. A guy that went through an agent came for interview today without a visa fee..he said he had paid d agent already. Unfortunately there was no bank around to withdraw. Funny enough this guy didn't bring Motivation letter, waec scratch card and most other documents. Oga Paulinus didn't waste time to send him home..pls come really prepared. Regards.

This is so so true, I honestly wouldn't advice anyone to try applying, ordinary legalization self they would reject you.. My advice is you people should try other countries and let Poland be!

I still dont understand why you all are wasting ur time and money applying for schools in Poland..99.9% is visa refusal.... They will never give u good reasons for denial... There are other countries in Europe to school and get visa straight up... Like Germany... They give free education, scholarships and their processes for visa is not hard like poland.. No need for this ministry of education, foreign affairs bullshit! You all shud leave poland and try germany! I was denied polish visa 2 times even with my complete docs they are just after ur visa fees. But germany was a diff case.. Kind regards

Despite them calling d school for confirmation. So I see nor reason for d rejection

Write a letter of appeal.... Telling them your reasons for going to Poland give them reasons how important it is for you to study...also give them reason why you have to come back to nigeria after studies.... Thou it would be very hard to convince a consular ...but just try your best also go along with a cover letter containing much about you and break downs of your tuition fees and living expenses in poland .. Also go along with a statement of purpose containing why you chose your particular course of study... God wud see you thru..
