This is just funny to read shaaa. Even as a young person and unmarried, 500k isn’t a big amount. Yes I know it’s not common, but it’s not a huge amount of money. How much is rent sef? Cos of living no be beans for NAIJA. That 500k isn’t so big. That just about the pay for beginning intermediate level range in quite a number of IT places in Lagos. Don’t know about other states. Canada is easily the choice here |

Crime / Season 1 Episode 4 - Wrapping It All Up by wizi4tyn: 9:05am On Jul 29, 2023 |
Hey, have you heard of The Triumphant Tribe podcast? Well, The triumphant tribe is a youth community podcast focused on relationships amongst young people, finance, personal development, helping one another, and discussing trending issues from various perspectives and how they relate to us. In this community, we create engaging discussions aimed at helping young people have the best consequences or outcomes in life. Chief-10 steers the wheels of this podcast as the host. At The Triumphant Tribe Podcast, we share some of the host’s experiences, stories of others, experiences of our guests and even your experiences too via listener letters!!! Our premiere episode was released on the first week of July 2023 as part of a series that we had for the month of July. You can check us out every week for new content. You can find the podcast @ttbywizzz on tiktok, instagram and youtube, where we also share highlights of our episodes. Feel free to leave comments on specific topics you’d like Chief-10 to cover in the comment sections of the podcast’s social media posts. Nigeria is regarded as one of the countries with the youngest populations in the world, with a median age of 18.1 years and an average age of 18.6. One of the crimes that affects young people the most is RAPE. As a matter of fact, over 80% of victims are 34 years old and below. And the perpetrators too are predominantly young people of about same age. For the month of July, we decided to discuss this problem that tends to harm young people in serious numbers. We spoke about Rape as extensively as we could, (given the limited time we had) in four episodes. We’ll do a quick rundown of the episodes and attach the links to the latest and last episode I.e Episode 4 (on various platforms) of the series at the end of this post. EPISODE 1: The topic was : "Rape and Young People." The safety and well-being of our youths is paramount, and we must have open, honest discussions about the challenges they face. Unfortunately, one of the most distressing issues affecting young people today is sexual violence, specifically rape. It's an uncomfortable topic, but one that demands our attention and collective action. In this episode, we tried to shed light on the alarming prevalence of rape among young individuals and wholesomely discuss what rape and consent means. We had three esteemed guests and friends of the tribe who brought their knowledge and perspectives to this crucial conversation. The discussions were aimed at promoting empathy, understanding, and actionable solutions, so we can collectively work towards a future where young people can live free from the fear of sexual violence or at least reduce these numbers as soon as possible. EPISODE 2: The topic was: "Rape and Its Victims”. Rape was appropriately presented as an egregious crime that inflicts unimaginable pain and trauma on its survivors, leaving lasting scars that can ripple through their lives and relationships. Rape is an act of extreme violence that affects individuals and communities worldwide. It's a crime that leaves devastating physical, emotional, and psychological scars on its victims, often lasting a lifetime. While society has made progress in acknowledging the prevalence of sexual violence, we still have a long way to go in supporting survivors and creating a culture of consent and respect. In this episode, we tried to shed light on this dark reality of the victims, and examining the impact of their experiences on their journey to healing, through our discussions. EPISODE 3: In this episode, we delved into the complex issue of false rape allegations, using a real-life case study: Benjamin Mendy. Our case study focuses on the high-profile trial of Benjamin Mendy, the renowned football player whose life took an unexpected turn when he was accused of a crime he vehemently denied. In our discussions, we examined the evidences, unravel the intricate legal proceedings, and explore the consequences of false rape allegations on the lives of those involved. We navigated the complexities surrounding false rape allegations, separating fact from fiction, and shedding light on the broader implications of such cases on society as a whole. EPISODE 4: In this eye-opening episode, we revisit some of the most poignant moments from our thought-provoking series on rape, where we delved into the various ways these numbers can be reduced. Please do well to listen to all the other episodes too, not just this one, so that you can get a broader view of everything that has been discussed, much more than just the summary in this episode. Our panel shares some stories, navigating the possible causes and aftermath of traumatic events, and the challenges faced in the healing journeys. In this recap, we revisit key discussions on dismantling societal issues/stigmas and fostering safe practices that can help us be safer in our society. Our guests highlight the crucial role of family/community, awareness, and education in creating lasting change. This episode aims to educate and enlighten, leaving listeners with a deeper understanding of the rape crime. We encourage everyone to become an active ally in the fight against sexual violence, contributing to the collective journey of reducing the numbers. Trigger Warning: The episodes contain discussions of sexual assault, which may be distressing for some listeners.
