Religion / Faith That Moves Mountains - Sep 19, 2016 | Reflections by wizzyjay(m): 5:55am On Sep 20, 2016
FAITH THAT MOVES MOUNTAINS

(Day 1 of the 5 day fasting programme)

for Catholic charismatic

Scripture Reading : Mark 11:23
As we kick start our five day’s fasting and prayer programme today, Jesus says to us, “I want you to know that you have unimaginable power available to you through your faith in me. If you sincerely believe, without doubting, it shall happen, and you will see great powers of God at work.” Jesus was not speaking about faith in oneself, which is popular today; rather about faith in the true God and in Him alone .

Not faith in one’s dreams , aspirations, or ideas of what one thinks ought to be. “ You ask and do not receive,” James warns, “ because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. ”

(James 4:3 ) “ This is the confidence which we have before Him ,” John says, “that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. ” (1 John 5:14 )
Child of God, mountain-moving faith is unselfish, undoubting, and unqualified confidence in God. It is in believing God’s truth and God’s power while seeking to do God’s will. The measure of such faith is the sincere and single desire that “The Father may be glorified in the Son.” When a believer seeks something that is consistent with God’s Word and trusts in God’s power to provide it, Jesus assures him that his request will be honored, because such honors Him and His Father.

When God’s commands are obeyed He will honor that obedience, and when any request is asked in faith according to His will, He will provide what is sought. To do what God says is to do what God wants and to receive what God promises .
Beloved, mountain-moving faith is activated by a sincere petition to God.

“All things you ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive,” Jesus explained. The parable of the friend who asked his neighbor for a favor at midnight and of the widow who petitioned the unrighteous judge (Luke 11:5–8 ;
18:1–8 ) both teaches the importance of persistent prayer. Persistent prayer is the prayer that moves mountains, because it truly expresses one’s belief in God’s power.

The believer who wants what God wants can ask from God and receive it. The young Christian who truly wants what God wants for his life will have it. The woman who truly wants what God wants for her family will have it. The pastor who truly wants what God wants for his ministry will have it. Some Christians are ineffective because they are not persistent in praying for what God wants, believing He will provide it. God desires His children to ask and keep asking, to seek and keep seeking, to knock and keep knocking, and it is through that persistence that He promises to bless. He guarantees that they will always receive, always find, and always have the door opened to them (Matt. 7:7 ).

God promises to truly reveal His power only through faithful believers who, in persistent prayer, seek only His will. As we embark on this 5-day fasting and prayer, let us be persistent in seeking and knocking on the door of divine will for healing, for fruit of the womb, for life partners and for victory over the forces of darkness, knowing that when we ask in faith and in accordance with his will, revealed in His Word, He answers.

Prayer Points:

1. Thank you O Lord for Your Word today in the name of Jesus.

2. Heavenly Father I ask for mercy and pardon for all my sins against You in the name of Jesus.

3. Father, I magnify Your name, I give You all the honour and glory, that is due unto Your holy name in the name of Jesus.

4. O Lord, grant that my eyes stay focused on You; that I will never lose my focus in the name of Jesus.

5. Father Your word in Jer. 23:29 says, ”Your word is like hammer that breaks the rocks into pieces.” I stand in agreement with your word, and break to pieces every satanic plot, schemes and evil assignments of the enemies, transmitted through the four winds of the earth in the name of Jesus.

6. Father, Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105 ) I stand in agreement with Your word, and use Your light to shine in every dark place where Your light does not shine in my life. I exposed every evil works that is done to my life, children, finances, careers, ministry, marriage, and all that concerns Lord, I thank You for rendering their evil works powerless, dead, bound and cancelled in the name of Jesus.

7. Father, Your word tells me in
Psalm 107:20 that, ”Your word is like medicine.” I stand in agreement with Your word that is like medicine, and heal our hearts of all hurts: physical , mental, emotional, and spiritual. I ask that Your word will restore us one hundred fold, of all that we have lost in the name of Jesus.

Exercise: Go to sacramental confession (for Catholics) and take the Prayer of St. Padre Pio (“Stay with Me, Lord”).

Memory Verse: John 15:7 .
