Crime / Re: Parent Slaps Bully At Abuja British School: Institution Temporarily Shuts Down by Wizzyonyxphoenix(m): 8:35pm On Apr 23
Eriokanmi:
Bully here bully there , yen, yen, yen.

Our society is so rotten now. In my time a senior would ask me to go and pick my cutlass, he would take me to an open field and measure up to 100m portion for me to cut every morning before assembly. They would flog us with cane. You dare not report them

Nowadays, we keep sparing the rod and spoiling the child. The so-called bullying nowadays were a commonplace in those days. They only made us become a much stronger generation. In many schools,.you dare not beat a student nowadays. Nonsense! In remember the first time I toasted a girl as an SS2 student...heeey, my senior caught us, punished me like kilodee. He said, so you want to end your career at sec schl abi? You want to end up in a village with her after integrating her? I can't forget that day. The fear made me to not have time for girls till I gained admission, graduated and went for my nysc before I knew what's called gf. The punishment really shaped me up.

In 2016 @ Day waterman college where each student pays up to 20m naira per session, a student approached his teacher openly and wooed her, even promising to give her triple what the shool was paying her if she could allow him sleep with her. What bullying could be worse than that from a student to his teacher grin? Yet, they couldn't do anything about it cos once the student reports to his parents that they're punishing him, they'd withdraw him and the school wouldn't want to lose money so they just ignored that.

Who born that student in our time? Na to flog am openly for assembly ground and call his parents to take him away. That would be his end in that school and it's environs. Today, the reverse is the case. I imagine what the next generation would look like.

I detest comments like these....
Justifying evil shamelessly...
So because of the animalistic conditions you were subjected to as a child, it is now okay for a child to inflict undue pain on another person's child in the name of trying to make them stronger? Did you even watch the video to see how helpless and defenceless the girl being bullied really felt? If it were your daughter that was being slapped that way, you would tell her to chest it because it would make her stronger Abi?
You're obviously a very shallow minded human being and it is very dangerous to have someone like you parent a child. Honestly.

Romance / Happy World Introvert Day!!!! by Wizzyonyxphoenix(m): 12:38pm On Jan 02
Today, January 2nd, marks World Introvert Day. A day when we celebrate those special men and women who prefer not to bother themselves with the stresses that come along with socialisation and society at large, and just choose to enjoy the company of their own spaces and thoughts. World Introvert Day was created by German psychologist Felicitas Heyne who frequently wrote on introversion. He felt introverts deserved a quiet day after the marathon of holiday and celebrations that started with Thanksgiving/Christmas and ended on the New Year's Day. The day could help them recharge and prepare themselves for the days ahead.

And to set the records straight, introverts are not weird. We are not proud or arrogant either. We really just don't care for excessive friendships and the drama that come along with them. Most of us neither have the energy, nor the time. But there are days we wished we'd be a bit more different though, that we would just put ourselves out there a bit more and show the world the incredible stuff we're made of. Introverts are probably the most brilliant people you could ever know. If you're in doubt, you can ask the likes of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, JK Rowling, and so on. Our hidden talents are top notch and when we choose to showcase them to the world, we excel and make waves all around. Just look at Keanu Reeves and our very own darling, Genevieve Nnaji. When we love, we love whole heartedly and when we are broken, we keep everything within ourselves as we don't want to bother others with our struggles. We don't give out our trust so easily but once we are comfortable with you, we can move mountains for you. Introverts have a beautiful soul but often times, we are misunderstood and so people choose to keep their distance. But the funny thing is that we really don't care, and we even prefer it that way πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

So my fellow introverts, get up and celebrate yourselves today with a bottle of wine, Netflix or a nice book lot of junk food and a much longer time on that bed (just like we always do anyways πŸ˜‚). And always remember that you are not weird. You are neither lazy nor arrogant nor weak not heartless. You and I both know that we could bring down heaven for those we loved if we could. And as for non introverts, pick up that phone and text the closest introvert you know (don't call or visit oooo, that's a desecration to our fortress of solitude πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚) and remember to always hold on to them tightly, because they are the most valuable things you could ever have....

Happy New Year 🌟🌟 🌟

Crime / How Come This Piece Of News Never Got To Nairaland? by Wizzyonyxphoenix(m): 10:13pm On Dec 12, 2022
I am absolutely surprised that no one in Nairaland, got wind of the story of a father, who killed HIS OWN SON, along with his wife. I never saw it in the front page for once, as grotesque as the story is...

Anyways, the incident happened in the Osisioma Ngwa Local Government Area of Abia State. According to reports, the deceased was a twenty five year old man, who had decided to come and spend some time with his father and his wife aka evil stepmother. It was reported that the witch of a step mother became jealous of the guys success (he had some plots of land here and there) and wanted her own son to become the first son. So she slowly started to poison his food, until the victim became very ill and when he was weak enough, she connived with her husband and killed him. His own father for crying out loud!!!

Anyways, after they had carried out the dastardly act, he was buried in a shallow grave. It was after a few days that neighbours started perceiving the stench of the corpse and became suspicious. Also, there were rumours that the guys ghost actually visited his friend in a dream and informed him of the evil that had been carried out on him. So, the youths of Aba all stormed the evil couples house, beat them black and blue, and forced them to dig open the shallow grave. It was an absolutely dreadful sight as the corpse had already started to swell.

The demon possessed husband and wife were later stripped naked and paraded around the streets of Aba Sha. Though I'm not sure if they were arrested though, because I heard they were ostracized. It was disgraceful, with all the leaves tied around their necks and the dirt painted on their faces, and their nudity in all it's perfect glory to top it all.

Like I said, I'm still surprised that this news piece never got to Nairaland, as horrible as it is. Or maybe I'm wrong though, I wouldn't mind some clarification. It kind of makes me wonder if Aba people don't know about Nairaland or something...

And if the world can get any more evil....

And threatening the girl with the police might only infruirate her even more because she's aware of this fact.

I didn't realise some females could be this wicked until my cousin called me up yesterday, and told me that one of his female friends, whom he invited for a hook up, had recorded a video of him naked and was threatening to post it online if he didn't pay her 50k.

She gave him a deadline, which is next week Monday actually. According to him, they had just finished doing the do, and the girl had started flashing her phone light, while he moved around naked (the room is pretty dark) so he felt she was helping him see clearly, not knowing that she had recorded not one but TWO videos of him stark naked.

Now he's crying profusely and running around like a headless chicken. What is he supposed to do guys? He tried calling her bluff but the girl in question seems pretty intent on ruining his life if he doesn't pay that money. He also has the option of giving her his phone, peradventure he doesn't get the money.

Honestly, I feel sorry for the guy, but that's what he gets for not being able to keep it in his pants. What would you advice him to do in this situation guys? His reputation is at stake here oooo....

Does your "friend" communicate often with his mum?

Of course he wouldn't. Because of transport costs and all that..
And his mum would feel absolutely terrible if he stays more with him. She's alone, remember? And she's already used to his presence since he grew up with her
Yes, he does. On phone

Is your "friend's" mum all alone?
Why does your "friend's" dad want to keep him away from his mother?
I think your "friend" should choose to be where he's at peace and feels loved the most.

As for your "friend's" parent's relationship, they simply were not compatible, so he shouldn't let it affect him too much.

Yes, she is..
And as per the second question, I don't know his exact reason but I think it's not so much the fact that he wants to keep him away from his mother, than the fact that since he came, his business has grown sporadically because he's always staying at his father's shop. Something that he didn't have time for in the past. And maybe he also missed his son? I'm not so sure
Family / How Do You Handle Emotional Blackmail? by Wizzyonyxphoenix(m): 8:59pm On Nov 09, 2022
Good evening NL fam
So I have this question that has been bothering my mind lately. How does one cope with emotional blackmail? Especially when they are soft-hearted and don't want to hurt anyone, especially those people really close to them? The reason I'm asking this is because of an experience that a friend shared with me of recent.
Warning: This is a pretty lengthy write-up so... take note abeg.

He just finished highschool, and was compelled to travel from the east to a middle belt state to spend sometime with his father. He's been there for two months straight now, and it's been a rather bittersweet experience for him. Bitter in the sense that he is overwhelmed by his father's tyrannical tendencies and fault finding abilities, and sweet in the sense that he's got to see a loving side of his pops that he never got to experience because of his parents seperation. However, he now wants to go back home and these are some of the reasons he laid out to me.
*First of all, he can't cope with the fact that his father never seems to be satisfied with him in anyway. He's always complaining about the way he walks, the way he talks, his dressing.... infact anything you can think off that is ridiculous to complain about. The other day, he said my friend should have done the sciences instead of arts because the arts are for women. Ridiculous, isn't it? The boy is already starting to loose self esteem because of the many things his dad calls him out on. It's as if he can never be truly man enough, and that has prevented him from being his true self. He doesn't want him to have any female friends, doesn't want him to have a social life. Honestly, it's pretty disturbing.

*Secondly, my friend explained that it tears him apart whenever he sees his father and his new wife rapour properly like a couple should. The reason for this is that when his parents were still together, it was always fighting here and there and he could never remember a time when they actually sat down and had a conversation like decent human beings. It hurts him when he remembers how messed up and violent his childhood was because of the constant squabbles. And the irony is that at the end of the day, his father got settled down with someone who loves him to the moon and back, while his mother ended up alone, with only her son by her side. Now said son is about to leave and start school soon.

*The third and final reason is that his financial life is suffering. Since he finished highschool, he hasn't made a single penny. His original plan was to teach and save up some money, but his trip hampered that. His dad set up a popcorn business for him however, but it's been doing very poorly so far, and it honestly seems like a hopeless waste of time. Would it not be better for him to go back and start the teaching he had in mind all along? Instead of wasting his precious time on a business with low success prospects?

The reason for this title is because the last time he had brought up the idea of leaving, his father had threatened to block his number and cut off all ties with him. Now he's terrified of what would happen if he goes and registers for a schools Post Utme and chooses not to return. All in all, he's not a happy guy, and he knows that if he makes a mistake and returns after leaving, he'll be here for a very very long time and be subjected to a life of depression.

So how do you guys cope with emotional blackmail? So sorry for the long write-up guys, just trying to help a friend.

Thanks you.

Hey guys,
So I finished high school about two months ago, and I've been thinking of something to do to make some income. I was going to start teaching, but my dad discouraged me, saying something about not wanting me to answer "sir/ma" to anyone. Not that I have a problem with that...

Anyways, I want to start up something but I'm not really sure how or where to start since I don't have any prior business experience. I was thinking about starting up popcorn making, but I'm not sure how popular and profitable it is here in Jos, since I've not really seen any one do it. But the area I am is very busy, and I stay directly opposite two schools. So i don't know... infact any idea will suffice. Just give me something guys, PLEASE!!!

Just take it easy with him

He was just being protective, but am sure if both of you have a good relationship, it won't be an issue as you can be sharing things together

I bought phones for my children after high school

You know what they did, they pass word the phones so because they password the phone i dont touch it

When i want to touch it, they open it but already password the whatsapp and gallery

I just stop wanting to open their phones

My own is to keep advising them about life and the risk involved because of their young age

So in your own case, dont challenge him, get admission to school first then password it when you come he will observe that it was Locked

If he queries you, tell him your fellow students were using your data when it was not pass word so you have to guide your phone

Yes, I already put a pattern on it.. thanks so much
