engrchykae:No matter how you may try to distort history, history cannot be changed. Of course, you love the lies that have been sold to you, that's why you couldn't find the time to cross-check the facts before spewing out your own ignorance. If you are talking about the wars of Uthman Dan Fodio, you are correct. Uthman never set his foot on Yoruba soil. He was stopped by the Tivs and their allies, but ignorant people never knew that his descendants made a second take-over attempt. The Fulanis made several attempts to take over Yoruba land, but they couldn't because they were met with stiff resistance. The final war that broke out just before the close of the 19th century was a very decisive one. Why couldn't the Fulanis take Offa and Ikirun when they came with all their might and horses to invade those places? I dare say, there had never been any white man intervention in the history of Offa and Ikirun to this day. Additionally, the Fulanis have never been able to go as far as Osogbo, let alone entering Ibadan for war. Why? They were stopped at Offa. For further clarification, Fulanis didn't take over Ilorin by invasion. After Afonja dissociated himself from his Yoruba brotherhood, he brought in Alimi, a Fulani Islamic scholar who later betrayed him. Afonja gave Alimi land and houses, but in the end, Alimi brought in warriors from the north and attacked Afonja. Afonja fought gallantly all alone until he became weak, his hand still holding his sword while arrows were piercing his body. The gallant warrior died still standing with sword in hand. The Fulani attackers kept shooting arrows before they finally realized they were shooting a "Standing Dead". After killing his benefactor, Alimi installed himself as Emir (an intriguing allegory of what they still want to repeat in this generation by asking for lands). You claimed the Yorubas are the only African race who were conquered by missionaries. I guess the Igbos were never conquered by the missionaries, the missionaries just came to pack them up like chickens and started colonizing them. If what you meant was that, the Yorubas were the only African race who resisted the British and got conquered before colonization, you may be correct. That means, other African nations offered no resistance. They just quickly succumbed to colonization. Of course, if other Yoruba tribes mellowed after the British conquest in Ogun, that is wisdom. The Yoruba fight with common sense. There is no point going to war with an enemy that has automatic revolvers, when you only have Dane guns. Yorubas are not fools. To say that the word 'Warrior' is not equatable to the Yoruba is a mark of hypocrisy. No one ever created an empire by simply pouring water on people's heads. The warriors go to war, subdue an army and then annex the defeated territory. The Yorubas in Togo were Regents of the king of Oyo who after many generations, became citizens of that nation. Let's hear Wikipedia: "The Oyo Empire was a Yoruba empire of what is today Benin and Western Nigeria (including Southwest zone and the western half of Northcentral zone). The Oyo Empire grew to become the largest Yoruba state. It rose through the outstanding organizational and administrative skills of the Yoruba people, wealth gained from trade and its powerful cavalry. The Oyo Empire was the most politically important state in the entirety of Western Africa from the mid-7th to the late 18th century,[2] holding sway not only over most of the other kingdoms in Yorubaland, but also over nearby African states, notably the Fon Kingdom of Dahomey in the modern Republic of Benin to the west." We are talking about an empire that existed from mid 1600 - 1896 - approx. 300yrs, according to (Wikipedia, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Oyo_Empire). Anyway, I do not expect you to embrace the facts of history. You have every reason to deny the truth because of jealousy. You know, there had never been any Igbo empire and never shall be. Point of Correction: The missionaries, though British, never conquered anyone. They only came to preach and establish schools. They were only a minor section of a larger British race who conquered territories on the orders of the queen of England. |
He's a great supporter of Trump. Since Blacks will be voting for Biden, West wants to split Burden's votes to make more opportunities for Trump. |
engrchykae:The issue here really is not just about Benjamin Adekunle but the Yoruba race whom you called a coward. Whether Adekunle or Obasanjo, the victory of that war is credited to the exploits of the Yoruba. And FYI, Adekunle was dealt with that way, not because he failed, for he really devastated Biafra, but because he was presumptuous, taking orders from himself and blatantly disobeying orders from his Superiors. The Yorubas are a peace loving race, and other tribes in Nigeria equate that with cowardice. A tribe that created an empire so vast that it stretched as far as Togo couldn't have done it without a lion heart. To know more about the Yoruba, go read about Oyo Empire. Even the Fulanis, who are laying claim to the whole Nigeria know from history that their invasion was impeded by the Yoruba. At the first invasion, the Fulanis had the upper hand because they had the advantage of fighting on horses while the Yorubas fought on foot. However, the surprised Yoruba learnt from that attack, and in their second attempt, the Fulanis were cut to size by the Ibadan army. Despite the fact that the Ibadan army was warring on 3 major fronts. Holding Ibadan city against the Ẹgba, defending Modakeke against Ife and holding the Fulanis at bay in Offa and Ikirun, all at the same time, yet the Fulanis could not penetrate. If the Yorubas had not stopped them at Offa, the Fulanis would have made great inroads into Nigeria. It was the Yoruba who kept the Fulani to the North. The only reason why they were able to capture Ilorin was because Afonja had long dissociated himself from his own people, so when Ilorin was under attack, Afonja had no support from any of his kinsmen. The Yoruba nation is a nation of gallant warriors, with a rich history of amazing military achievements. The Yorubas are no cowards. Any race that can sustain a vast empire for a long period of time can only do so through military might and political genius. The British themselves knew this of the Yorubas. They handed Nigeria over to the Hausas, because they knew that with Yorubas at the helm of affairs, in no distance time, Nigeria will be a nation to reckon with among the nations. The Yorubas were the fear of the British and not the Igbos. We are peace loving and hate shedding blood but when occasion calls for it, the Yorubas will rise gallantly to the occasion. Yoruba is never a coward and never shall be. |
State001:These are digital suspects held in virtual cells. No name, no identity. |
engrchykae:A fearful race that led your troop in the person of Banjo. If the Yoruba race is indeed fearful, why do Igbos hate Benjamin Adekunle so much? Benjamin Adekunle, the Black Scorpion, the fearless Yoruba man who castrated Biafra. |
If someone hurts you, and there's no strong evidence to prove the hurt, it's wiser and safer for you to keep your mouth shut. Otherwise, you will suffer twice. |
They should cry against evil politicians, Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram and all criminals in Nigeria. They should cry bitterly and rid Nigeria of kidnappers and wicked souls. |
What has the north gained in all their years of rulership? Backwardness, joblessness, poverty, illiteracy, militancy and religious violence. What will they lose if the country restructures. Perhaps, only a few people who benefit from the oil are called the north. The populace of the north who are not benefiting are there slaves. The people of the north should open their eyes and liberate themselves. They should stop being northerners and become Nigerians. |
Things are not adding up. The kidnappers were really her co-students. You can only find 'Confraternity' in school. How could she have been taken on a day she was to visit her father's house to 'pick something?' What's that something that she could not mention to her aunt? Since the kidnappers needn't anything from her parents, why did they have to contact them? Is she with her boyfriend? Did they work this out to be alone together? So many questions begging for answers. I pray the whole truth gets exposed. |
This Secret Should Excite You. While waiting patiently to return to normal business at the end of COVID 19, you must keep exploring every opportunity you have at your disposal to attain financial freedom. When Bitcoin was launched in 2008, it traded for nothing. I came in touch with it in 2009 with the opportunity to buy 10,000 Bitcoins for just a few cents. I ignored it, thinking it was one of those hoaxes. Now, each Bitcoin sells for over $9,000. Imagine what 10,000 Bitcoins would have meant for me today? I lost the opportunity for which I now fully regret. Today, Bitcoin is getting legalized in different parts of the world. Many merchants now accept it as a means of payment. Coca cola machines in Australia and New Zealand now accept Bitcoins. Some Governments, now recognize it, and have devised KYC rules for its transactions. Bitcoin was the beginning of the 1st Generation CryptoCoins. We are now beginning to witness the birth of 2nd Generation CryptoCoins. The first of which is Pi Coin. Pi Coin is a 2nd Generation Coin created by some PhDs from Stanford University. Pi has its own Blockchain and now has a value of $0.3. Just like when Bitcoin was first rolled out, it was given freely, Pi Coin is currently being freely distributed. Being a Second Generation Coin, It is the only coin that could be easily mined with a mobile phone without using the phone's resources. It has gained massive popularity and may overcome Bitcoin some day. Released in 2019, the coin now has a community of over 6 million users. It is a 'Proof of Consensus' coin which analysts have described as a unique crypto invention. Since you don't have to pay anything to get this coin today, it will be wise to gather as much as you can while the opportunity lasts. Earn everyday on your phone for free. Each coin could be worth thousands of dollars in few years time. Since it costs nothing to acquire, you wouldn't have anything to lose in giving it a try. You could be on your way to creating a billionaire future for yourself, and for your children. How to Get Pi Coin 1. Go to Google Play or App Store 2. Search for Pi Coin 3. Download and install 4. Fill the short registration form 5. Enter wizzyvine as referral (Please note that it is an invite-only coin, you can't get it except you are invited. You need to indicate your invitee, in this case, wizzyvine). 6. Follow the instructions to start accumulating the coins every day. Hoping to see you among the next crypto billionaires in few years time. Thanks for reading.
